The scene opens with shots of various crudely-painted wooden signs tacked onto trees. The signs say things such as “Jesus Saves”, “Read The Bible”, and “Repent.” It then cuts to a shot of a billboard that says “Hell is Real.” Then it cuts to a shot of a small white church in the middle of a field at midday. The shot changes to the interior of the church where the pastor can be seen seated on the front pew. The sound of the door opening is heard, followed by footsteps on the wooden floor.
“Child, what brings you to this house of God?”
The shot focuses on the face of the stranger, revealing her to be Daisy Thrash.
“Howdy, Padre. Having a bit of a problem right now. Got a devil on my back, y’see. How can I get rid of the bastard for good?”
The pastor gives a slightly amused smile before responding.
“I’m afraid there’s no real way to do that. The devil has always existed and always will. All you can really do is continue to resist his temptations and follow the path of righteousness. Though things can be difficult, you must trust in the Lord to guide you on your way.”
Daisy ponders this for a second.
“But what if I need to resort to some violent means to keep following the path of righteousness? Do ‘ya think I’ll be forgiven for it?”
“Darlin’, that’s between you and the Lord Almighty. Speak with Him, trust in Him, and you will find the wisdom you seek.”
“Sounds like a good idea, Padre. Mind if I get some alone time?”
“Not at all. I will be in my office if you need me.”
The pastor gets up from the pew and retreats to the office. Daisy takes a seat in the pew, her thumb hooked onto the Lethal Angels Championship.
“I think me and the padre there had a bit of a failure to communicate. He talked about the devil as if it were male. But I know better, my devil is a woman. Goes by the name of Roni De Vil. Now in my time I’ve seen a lot of young ladies just like her. She’s as brash, passionate, cocky, and foolhardy as they come. I will give her one thing, though. She surely believes every single word that comes out of her mouth. She believes that she will become the face of LAW. She believes that she was born to take LAW over. She believes that she deserved this opportunity and that she’ll take my Championship away from me.”
Daisy unhooks her title from her waist and holds it up in one hand.
“You really think you can take this away from me, Roni? Huh? You think you can take away something I have busted my ass for years to achieve? Allow me to let you in on a secret: you ain’t the only one who’s trained and bled and bruised and destroyed yourself just to make it in this business. I wasn’t born to be a fighter. My daddy’s no hotshot boxer, he’s a plumber. I didn’t even know what wrestling was until I turned twelve. But I knew the first time I ever laid eyes on that ring that I was gonna be a wrestler no matter what. Being a champion was never in my blood. It was in my mind that learned how to strike and hold and speak. It was in my flesh that took bump after bump. It was in my muscles that I built and strengthened. And it was in my heart, that kept reminding me why I should never give up. I kept working even though it took me longer to learn things than everyone else. I kept working even when I was told that the business may not be right for me. I was getting the message over and over again that I couldn’t do it. This title is proof otherwise. I’m not about to let go of that. So what makes you think that you can beat me? Is it because you’re Madam Vega’s ‘chosen one’? Sweetie, that status doesn’t mean a damn thing. I was never anyone’s chosen one but I managed to succeed anyway. And I’ve beaten my fair share of chosen ones and company darlings. Including one Miranda Minors. I remember her telling me ad nauseum about how Cameron chose her to be the future of LAW. Sound familiar? Then I whooped her ass in a steel cage and won this here title which I’ve kept to this very day and plan to continue holding this until someone worthy earns it. And you just aren’t worthy, sister. If you were, you would have earned this opportunity at Sin City and not have been gifted it. “I wasn’t the one pinned!’ is the excuse everyone makes. If you were really the best one in that ring, if you were really the most ‘dominant’, why didn’t you win? Why did you let Isabella snatch the contract away from you? Because you’re more focused on showing off your supposed dominance than actually getting the job done. I hope you don’t make that same mistake again. You take your eyes off the ball for one second while you’re in there with me and you’re done. In fact I hope you bring all that fury and power into Limelight. Gimme your 100%. Rain hellfire down upon me. I can’t wait to see the horrified look on your face when I don’t stay down. You may be the Devil, but I am the Angel. Not the perfect type, the one with the black wings. The one that will scratch and claw and show no mercy to keep what I’ve earned. Hikaru Suzuki was the warm-up, this one’s gonna be the workout. And Lord knows I’m not afraid of a little sweat. I know my reign is constantly in danger. The aforementioned Isabella already has a shot at me and this Kandi girl wants a piece of me too. But for now, I have to focus on the clear and present danger. So at Limelight, I won’t just cut you down, Roni. I will make you bow down. You will bow down to the woman who beat you. You will bow down to the woman who will be still your Lethal Angels Champion.”
Daisy walks over to the cross hanging on the wall and gives it a couple of light slaps.
“Good talk.”
Daisy then turns around and exits the church as the camera fades to black.
