(Candice Blair thinks for a moment. She is deciding with how she wants to begin this press conference with Midori Miyamoto. She needed to think of something that would have a lasting impact with those approaching Collision Course.)
"How long have I been JET Academy Champion? I nearly had to ask the rest of the women in the Blondetourage because I nearly lost count after 176 days. That must mean that blondes are naturally stupid right?I mean, it must be some miracle that I've managed to be champion for this long. It has been some miracle that I have defeated women such as Tomoyo Hirate, Ai Moe and Stacy Deville. People are so easy to pinpoint that I needed the assistance of the rest of the Blondetourage to keep the title in the faction, but in reality, I have successfully defeated my opponents to the best of my abilities. I have had no controversies. I have walked into every match I have been apart of and I have proven to be the better woman. Midori Miyamoto is the next soul, who has the privilege to step into the ring against the Ace of JET and she is nothing more than a woman, who had my foot on her chest on the last episode of JET. She wants to say that I am not a true wrestler? I get it, people see blonde and don't believe that we can be talented. People see blonde and make the assumptions that we're airheads, who don't know what we are doing, but me and the rest of the Blondetourage have proven those stereotypes wrong time after time after time. We all are wearing championships on our shoulder. We are all successful and shining and these Japanese born talent don't want to accept that a gaijin waltzed in here and took some of their shine. It only took me less than a few months to get this JET Academy Championship and if I wasn't a true wrestler, I would have lost this championship a long time ago. I'm going to the 200 day mark as champion and there is not a damn thing that the JET locker room and especially, Midori can do about it. I'm holding this title forever. I'm am going to hold this title until it becomes boring for me to do so...which means, never. Maybe, I'll go to the JET World Championship picture and beat KAGUYA senseless. If you thought that 2018 was the year of Candice Blair Ava, 2019 is going to surpass all of that. Mark my words."

Serenity washed over Midori Miyamoto as she sat in her seat. To be perfectly honest, she hadn’t done too much talking on the microphone prior to signing with Joshi Extreme Takeover. A couple of words at this promotion. A few lines at that one. While her encounters with KAGUYA-Gun were a taxing trial by fire, they allowed Midori to become accustomed to speaking in front of massive crowds. It allowed her to become bold.
“Candice,” Midori uttered in English as she adjusted her microphone a little bit. “I’m not in the mood for pleasantries. And you are rarely, if ever pleasant. So, let’s just cut the shit and get right down to it, yeah?”
There was a two second pause before Midori continued on. “JET gave us a free platform. An open mic. No questions. No moderator.” Midori nodded her head. “And yet, everyone in this room already knew what you were going to say before you even opened your mouth, myself included.”
Midori’s gaze locked onto Candice. “There were a lot of kick ass matches that took place during the RISE Grand Prix, so many that most of them have probably been forgotten. You know, like when I defeated you in the main event of night five.” She nodded her head. “You threw everything you had at me that night. But I wouldn’t stay down. I wouldn’t give up. On paper, you were the favorite. I hadn’t won a match in the Grand Prix at that point. You and the rest of the world thought it was going to be a cake walk. Any yet, you lost.”
A smirk came to her face. “But I guess that win over you doesn’t mean anything, does it Candice?” She let out a laugh. “I couldn’t help but notice that you failed to mention that fact when you were blabbering on about how I’ll be the ‘next soul’ to lose to you.” Midori lifted up an eyebrow. “I guess your narrative doesn’t have room for the truth.” She paused for a second.
“You like to make things up. Maybe you’d like to offer up some sort of excuse as to why I beat you back then? Did some dust get into your eye? Did you contract a mild cough that morning? Hell, maybe you’d like to be really bold and say that you didn’t care about that match.” There was another small pause. “Whatever lie you tell these people isn’t going to erase what happened in the past.”
Midori shook her head before she pressed on. “Speaking of narratives, you also like to spin this yarn about people being unworthy to face you in the ring.” Midori shrugged her shoulders. “Ai wasn’t worthy enough to face you for the JET Academy Championship. Stacy wasn’t worthy. Tomoyo wasn’t worthy. And neither will be Midori Miyamoto. That’s how you feel, yeah?” There was a second’s pause. “It doesn’t matter that I defeated one of the promotion’s best in Mizuki to earn this championship opportunity, right? I’m simply just so far beneath you.” Her voice dripped with sarcasm.
“And of course, the day wouldn’t be complete without you reminding us at nauseam about how great of a champion you are.” Midori shook her head. “You act as if you’ve carried this company by yourself. Like no one else in this company matters.”
She stared at Candice for a second or two. “Same shit, different day, yeah?”
A couple seconds elapsed. Midori’s gaze? It was unmoving.
“But you’re be wrong. You’re dead wrong, about everything.”
She used her hand to run her fingers through her hair. “Our Grand Prix match had greater implications than what meets the eye, Candice.” She nodded again. “You see, that match was a do-or-die bout for me. I hadn’t scored any points. And had I lost to you that night, then my Grand Prix run would have been an absolute failure.
“But I won that. I won that match cleanly. I pinned your shoulders to the mat. One. Two. Three.” She let out a small grunt. “I proved something with that win.” She paused. “I proved that I’m not a woman that will lay down. The favor and odds were against me, but I didn’t buckle. I didn’t back down.
“I proved that I had a tall order of endurance. Most people in my situation would have cracked. While I might have bent and twisted, I didn’t crack. Despite all my disappointment, I still believed in myself. And that’s why I was able to turn that tournament around. I beat the woman who would go on to win the RISE Grand Prix, Kimiko Hayabusa. And don’t forget, I was only one win away from leading my block. I would have had that win if KAGUYA’s little dogs hadn’t interfered in our match.”
Her eyes shifted over to the reporters in the room. Those who hadn’t brought audio or video recorders were writing at a feverish pace. She gave them a moment to catch up.
“Candice, I’ve shown the world that I can defeat you. At the RISE Together Finals. During the course of the RISE Grand Prix. I’ve shown the world that I can defeat your friends as well. You though? You’ve shown that you’re scared.
“Fear. It’s the reason you sit up during these press conferences and try to talk down to people. It’s the reason you feel the need to tell everyone who great you think you are. It’s the reason you felt the need to attack me when I was squaring up against Corrina Grey.”
A smirk came to her face.
“You can lie to the fans. You can lie to the media. You can lie to Corrina, Vanessa, and Virginia. But in that miniscule amount of heart that you have left, you know that I’m the biggest threat to your illustrious championship reign. That’s why you’re so shook.”
Midori turned her head towards Candice, one last time.
“You’re not going to expose me, Candice. You’re not going to run roughshod over me.” She wagged her right index finger. “No. We’re going to stand toe-to-toe in the center of that ring. And I’m going to hit you in the face. We’re going to fight—
“And when the dust has settled, when the bell has rung, I plan on walking out as the JET Academy Champion. The hard work that you’ve put into the promotion is appreciated. However, you’re no ace. And you’re not invincible.”

(Candice Blair is chucking as she is processing Midori Miyamoto's response. The blonde is slick as a smirk forms on her lips before getting closer to the microphone.)
"Do you want to know who else got a victory over me in the RISE Grand Prix, Midori? Stacy Deville. That was her justification to why she deserved an opportunity for the JET Academy Championship. That was basically the reason why she was even considered as a contender. Tomoyo Hirate also got a victory over me in that same tournament, but she never bothered to go after me because she knew that she'd end up losing like she did at Sakura Blooming. This is no different from Ai Moe getting a victory a few months prior. With those two opponents, I proved that their little victory over me was nothing more than them being lucky. They got lucky over Candice Blair. They had that wave of momentum going for them and what happened to them afterwards? Ai is on the shelf for the time being. I managed to get my victory over Stacy. I proved that it does not matter if any woman gets the best of me one time, they will never take this championship away from me. What makes you so different from them, Midori? What makes you so fucking special because to me, you're no different from Stacy. You're no different from Ai. You're not different from Tomoyo. You're just another sad soul, who has build herself up to believe she has some legit shot of taking this championship away from me. Aren't you going to be the one with a broken heart at Collision Course? What you need to know is that I not only break bones, but I am not afraid to break hearts as well. I am not afraid to break the hearts of these idiotic people, who would rather cheer for someone, who recently grew a set of balls to stand up to herself over a woman, who has dominated JET and has been true to her word since day one. It doesn't mean shit that Stacy and Ai have gotten victories over me in the past because I proved that I was better than them in the end of the day."
"You are supposed to be the biggest threat to my reign. I mean, people are saying that this may be the night where Candice Blair is dethroned and a new JET Academy Champion emerges. I got to every title defense thinking that it is my last. Despite what I think of the woman standing across from me in the ring, I got into each defense and put everything on the line. I not only fight for my family name, but I fight for the chance to prove to those naysayers that I am the best damn thing to come out of this promotion. Not Midori Miyamoto, KAGUYA or Nina Sanada. It's Candice Blair. It's always been me. However, this has never been about me trying to build up own confidence up. I am confident about my abilities in the ring. I am probably the least experienced woman in this match, but I have proven to be lightyears ahead of my competition. This isn't because of cheating. This isn't because I've been propped up since day one to become the. Ace of JET, but because they've put their trust on a young woman like myself to make this promotion mean something. You have shown the world that you can defeat me. I'm not going to shy away from the fact, sweetheart. It's in the history books. It's in bold. You can paint this picture like I'm glossing over the specific detail, but I fully acknowledge it. I can aknowledge when I have been defeated. Do you seriously think I'm that stupid? Do you think I have a stick so far up my ass that I am not going to admit that? You really don't know me, Midori. You get your insight on how I am personally, but what you've heard backstage. You've been in the ring with me, but you have never been in the ring against a woman, who is willing to push herself to her breaking point if it means retaining this championship. "
"At Collision Course, we are going to fight and we are going to fight until we can't anymore. I'm not scared of you, Midori. I never was and I never will. However, the result that you're anticipating will be your worst nightmare."
(Candice Blair has a look of determination as she sits back in her seat. It seems like she is prepared for anything to come her way.)

Midori sat and listened to Candice ramble on. The look of sheer boredom on her face was a mighty indicator that the young woman was less than impressed. When Candice had finished speaking, Midori stood to her feet and leaned in towards the microphone.
“That was great,” she said in a condescending tone. “Everyone give it up for Candice.”
Three labored hand claps followed.
“You’ve got to appreciate a master bullshitter when they are hard at work.”
Once she was done, Midori took her seat.
“It’s kind of wild,” Midori stated. “This isn’t the first time that I’ve had the displeasure of listening to Candice speak. No, we shared the press conference room during the RISE Together Tournament Finals. She was simply arrogant back then, but at least you could kind of appreciate where she was coming from. But now?”
Midori shook her head. “Candice, just about everything you just said was full of shit. You know it. I know it. And know the wrestling world is about to know it as well.
“You’ve woven a pretty intricate tale up here today. And maybe some people here have fallen prey to your grandiose illustrations. But people like myself? People who’ve been paying attention to what you’ve truly been saying? We aren’t deceived or fooled, not one bit.” Midori shook her head. “Your story has more plot holes than the Hunger Games.
“Candice, you’ve tried to depict yourself as this mighty champion who constantly fights against the odds. You claim to approach each championship defense as if it were your last.” She paused as she turned her head in Candice’s direction. “And yet, you just sat there and wrote off every single challenger that you faced.” She shook her head. “Ai wasn’t just a girl who lucked into facing you. She was a woman who switched professions and put her soul into this craft. She was a bulldog who pinned you at the tournament finals. She was an inaugural champion here in JET.” Midori nodded her head. “And I may not be Stacy’s biggest fan, but she is a household name in professional wrestling. Not just japan, but the entire world. And Tomoyo is a former JET Academy Champion. She took you to the limit the night you won the belt. She would have matched up well with you in a rematch.”
She continued to glance at Candice. “I don’t call how many successful defenses you have. I don’t care how long you’ve held that belt. A champion is only as great has her challengers. And based on the way you speak about them, you don’t feel that your challengers were that talented. Then that would mean your championship reign hasn’t been very illustrious.”
The reporters who were still using pen and pad scrambled to jot down Midori’s words. She held still for a moment, for their sakes.
“You claim to be the best wrestler to come out of JET.” A laugh escaped Midori. “That’s definitely and objectively a lie.” She shook her head. “Whether you like her or not, all eyes were focused on Nina Sanada when she held the JET Championship. People like myself have received special requests from other promotions to come in and do a match; those requests have been the result of us working hard here in JET. And as much as it pains me to say it, people tuned in to see what type of chaos KAGUYA-Gun would cause.”
She let out what would be considered a grunt.
“JET is a breeding ground for talent. That’s a fact. You’re good, Candice. You’re a champion. But you're not the JET Championship holder. You’re not the best that this promotion has ever produced. Because if you were?” There was a second’s pause. “Then you wouldn’t have to spend every waking moment trying to convince everyone that you’re the best. People would simply know it and appreciate.”
Midori paused one more time, for the sake of the print media members in the room.
“But to truly wrap your lies up in a bow, I’m going to ask you a question.” Midori cracked the knuckles in her right hand. “Where were you?”
Her question sent murmurs throughout the room.
“Where were you when JET was being savagely attacked by KAGUYA-Gun? Where were you when people were getting beat in street and demolished after matches? Where were you when that pack of dogs tried to infiltrate and ruin some of the promotion’s largest events. Where were you when KAGUYA-Gun had this company on its knees, ready to surrender?”
Silence persisted.
“Where the hell were you, Candice?”
All of her questions had been rhetorical, of course.
“You want to say that I just grew balls? I had been fighting against the cancer known as KAGUYA-Gun since the first day I stepped foot into this company. When people were too frightened to speak out against them, I grabbed a microphone and shouted to the top of my lungs. When most people were too afraid to oppose them, I stood on the front line.” Midori nodded her head in affirmation. “And you want to know who was on the front line with me? Ai was on the front line. Mizuki was on the front line. Momoko was on the front line. Hell, even Saint Saito stepped on the front line for the last battle.
“But you know who I didn’t see on that front line, Candice?” She paused. “YOU.” Midori paused for another moment. “You and your squad sat back while the rest of us fought tooth and nail to save this promotion.”
Midori rolled her eyes in disgust.
“Actions speak much louder than words in a press hall, Candice. And your actions have proven that you don’t really care about JET. You don’t care if the promotion continues to grow and thrive. You don’t care if JET reaches new audiences and new markets—
“No. All you want to do is use JET. You want to bleed the company dry.” Midori shook her head. “You’re selfish. And JET doesn’t need a selfish Academy Champion. It needs one that’s going to stand up for this promotion and its best interests.”
She nodded her head.
“JUNKO helped terrorize this promotion for months and months. And at Kyoto Spotlight, she and I ended up being the soul survivors for Team JET and Team KAGUYA-Gun respectively. I put her down for the three count. I put that final nail in the coffin. And despite KAGUYA winning the JET Championship, KAGUYA-Gun as a group hasn’t been the same since.”
She glanced back over at Candice. “I’m going to put a nail in your coffin too. And JET is finally going to have an Academy Champion that represents the company.”
