So here we are...
The last few weeks have been a roller coaster ride for me. At Collision Course, I was successful at defending my championship. Respect was earned, not just for LAW, not just for the Lethal Specialists Championship, but for me personally. I faced a worthy opponent who I would be happy to face again anywhere for this belt. I've been sending my name out there more into the world, having recieved offers from wrestling organizations of all sizes, gender makeup and scope. I have now more of an opportunity than ever before to raise the bar, elevate myself, this title and this promotion.
Then...I let the promotion down. LAW, the three letters that mean so much to me, I failed them. Not because of something I did in terms of bad behavior or not showing up to some meet and greet. For those of you who are unaware, I had a championship match against one of the cornerstones of JET, Azumi Goto, for the then-vacant OWA Women's World Title. That is the second time that a championship of that prestige was so close that I could taste the silver and gold and jewels. Then it was snatched away from me. Unlike the first time when someone who had no business even being invovled took it from me unjustly, this was just Azumi's night. I held my head high knowing that I gave my all...and I promised her and all the fans of OWA that one day I would return when I was ready.
But not yet.
You see, LAW is a place that I plan on being apart of for as long as it exists. LAW gave me a place to call my home when certain other organizations no longer wanted me around. LAW gave me a home and a lifeline in the sport when relationships soured and companies I tried to call home closed their doors. LAW is more than just some other place to me, it's HOME. And to that end, no matter where I go, no matter how many belts I win, no matter who I have to beat, LAW will always be on my mind.
I returned with good intentions, but I will be the first to admit that I didn't simply return out of pure altruism. I'm a greedy little bitch, and with Daisy's unfortunate injury, the biggest plum of them all here on LAW is avaliable. It's quite a shame. Daisy and I, while never super close or rivals in any sense, came through the same federation together. I saw how hard she worked to evolve and grow and to see her win the championship was pretty cool. I was hoping that maybe we would have a Champion vs Champion match some day to finally crown the top singles star on the roster, but it looks that will have to wait. Instead, I have another Champion waiting for me. Kayla Winters, one half of the Tag Team Champions. Consuela and Vega must have a sense of humor to them, methinks. Usually in tournaments like these, you would think that Champions would have a pretty easy draw to start with, right? But noooooooo...I have to run out of the gates with her and her annoying little partner at ringside.
That's fine by me. I get it. I used to be a tag champion myself and I used to run with a pretty nasty clique of badass women. I'm all for using whatever advantages you can get your hands on in a fight. The problem for you, Kayla, is that there IS no advantage for you. No matter how much backup you have, no matter what kind of skill you think you have, the problem for you is that you don't measure up to The Professional. I don't think the company put me in this match to just round out the numbers. Nor did they pair me up with you just for some bland, ho-hum main event. We are going to put on a fucking SHOW, my dear. Of course the final act will see the curtains brought down with you getting dropped on your head, or me squeezing all the air out of your body until you tap out, but I'm sure we can throw in enough entertainment to make the fans happy and your partner nauseous.
And to all the OTHER ladies in this tournament, you may want to make sure you have plenty of room on your DVRs to study this. Because I'm going to give you all a highlight reel worthy of Championship aspirations. You're going to be blessed to see the best female wrestler in the world ply her craft. Oh, by the way, that goes double for you Miranda. I saw how you were looking at me backstage. There are only two reasons you look at another human being like you looked at me: you want to fight them...or you want to bang them. And unfortunately for YOU, if you want to bang me, HA-HA, the joke's on you because I'm as straight as an arrow. But if you want to FIGHT....you've come to the right place. And if it's this pretty little belt I have on my shoulder that you're so desperate to acquire, well....it's not collecting dust on a shelf.
Azumi Goto is the person you all should blame if you find yourself up against an unconquerable force in this tournament. She made me realize that I have to refine my game, and that there were other aspirations than the simple, tiny ones I had here. When you combine ambition, talent, and opportunity...none of you are going to believe what happens next, even while it's happenin'.
That's all.
