A camera starts up and we see none other than the self styled “Red Queen” herself, Amy Slayton, sitting in a cafe’ somewhere, dressed rather simply in a pair of blue jeans and a plain black t-shirt-showing that this is the woman behind the wrestler perhaps-as she gives the camera a bit of a smile.
“So here I am at Kenyan Shibuya in lovely Shibuya-ku here in Tokyo and I thought for my first official video doc for JET I thought that I would cover something that I know is going to be brought up at some point or another, so let’s just get this cat out of the bag first shall we?” Amy says in a cheery tone at first but becomes more serious and conversational towards the end. “The cat in question is my birthplace.”
“I was born in Tokyo Japan.”
Amy lets out a bitter chuckle, “You see a lot of people they don’t believe me and I usually get the same argument over and over which is I’m not half Japanese or neither of my parents are Japanese and yet I was born at Saint Luke’s International Hospital over in the Chuo City district of Tokyo during my parent’s first year living here in Japan.” she goes on further to explain before taking a sip of her drink. “You see my father is a professional wrestler who was offered a great honor by Mitsuharu "Lion Man" Takayama during a trip to visit some friends in America and he saw something impressive in my father which lead him coming here to this country with my mother and my older brother.”
“I was born here and while I may be American by birth, my roots are not oak or pine or cedar...they are *SAKURA*. I make my home in the Azabu-Jūban district of Minato, Tokyo because it is where my family lived when I was a child.”
Amy then leans forward a bit and fixes her light brown eyes at the camera with a serious expression. “I tell you this to help you all understand that I’m not some gaikokujin, coming from the outside to prove my dominance of the western style of professional wrestler over the eastern style and I’m not some Japaonophile or weeb attempting to get the geek on or anything like that.”
“I’m here to do the exact same thing that my father did when he came here in nineteen ninety and that’s prove myself as a wrestler in a country where this sport is taken *SERIOUSLY* and not the freak shows that you see in America like some promotions that I could name.” Amy adds in that same serious, conversational tone. “I joined Joshi Extreme Takeover to prove myself among the best and the brightest of our country’s Joshi, to show them why the daughter of the president of the Shiba Zaibatsu is not only the most beautiful but the most skilled of all Joshi here.”
Amy stops and gets a rather savage smile on her face as she leans back as she takes a moment to enjoy her drink before setting the glass back down and leaning forward again, that same savage smile still on her face.
“And if any of you girls think that it’s beneath me, the Red Queen of the Dominion, to start at the bottom like everyone else than you are solely mistaken because by starting from the bottom I can show each and everyone that when I eventually take the championship from you, Kaguya-sama, or whoever holds it by that time, that I will have *EARNED* the right by my own blood, sweat, and tears...because nothing has ever been given to a Slayton;”
Amy then lets out another laugh, but unlike before this one is a bit more throaty and full of emotion..something dark…
“We *EARN* what we *TAKE*!”
“And I will begin that journey of proving my worth at Korakuen, against Spring Tora, when I make my Joshi Extreme Takeover debut and when I hear all two thousand strong in that beautiful arena chant my name...then, and only *THEN*, will I truly feel that I’m home.”
Amy leans back in her chair, a smile crossing over her face-but this time it’s more warm and real than the savage one before.
“See you all soon.”
