Episode 19: Minor Offense
(COLD OPEN)
(The camera opens to LAW interviewer Maria Cuesta walking up to the locker room. She knocks several times and Jessica Rose answers the door. The “Sugar” in Sugar & Spice is already dressed in her gear for tonight’s match.)
Maria Cuesta: Hi, Jessica Rose! I was wondering if I could ask a few questions before your match?
(Jessica steps out and closes the door behind her.)
Jessica Rose: Sure, let me have it.
Maria Cuesta: I wanted to ask you about your feelings on your match at Lethal Hearts. Many are calling it one of the best TLC matches they’ve ever seen.
Jessica Rose: Well that’s nice to hear, I guess. I mean we went hard, but Sweet Winters took things to the next level by using every bit of strength to keep us from those titles. I’m not saying that the Sakaraba Sisters didn’t deserve that win, but they did take advantage of an opportunity. I’m glad we made an impression and hopefully one day we’ll be back in the championship picture.
Maria Cuesta: Speaking of which - how is Sidney’s injury? We got word that she could be out for the next couple of weeks.
Jessica Rose: (sighs) Unfortunately, that’s the case. We hoped that Sid’s ankle wasn’t as bad as it looked, the trainers revealed that it’s fractured.
Maria Cuesta: How long will she be out?
Jessica Rose: Four to eight weeks max. Sid and I had our sights on getting the Lethal Tag Team Championship, but for now I’ll hold on the fort to make sure nobody forgets Sugar & Spice.
Maria Cuesta: That’s good to hear, Jessica. Give Sidney our best.
Jessica Rose: Will do. Now if you excuse me, I have a match to prepare for.
Maria Cuesta: Good luck.
(Jessica goes back into the locker room as the camera fades.)
(“I Am The Fire” by Halestorm plays as the LAW intro is shown. The camera opens up to the hundreds in attendance at the LAW Arena.)
Melissa Flash: Welcome to Monday Night LAW! I’m Melissa Flash and this is my partner Kat Ricci!
Kat Ricci: We are just a month away from Lethal Takeover, the anniversary show marking the year we’ve been allied with Joshi Extreme Takeover!
Melissa Flash: In two weeks we will be discussing the matches of Lethal Takeover from both LAW and JET! But first, singles action!
Singles Match
Revy vs Jessica Rose
Revy vs Jessica Rose
Revy takes control early in the match with a couple of charging strikes and suplexes. Jessica tries to make a comeback, but each time, Revy takes over with a superkick or dragon screw. Melissa Flash mentions on commentary that maybe Jessica’s head isn’t in the game, based on what happened to Sidney Knight. Meanwhile, Revy is laser-focused and goes for the Falcon Arrow, but Jessica slips out of it and locks in Nebula (Octopus Stretch). Revy manages to slip out of it and fight back with a series of stiff forearms and a Coconut Flash (Side headlock facebreaker knee smash while using the opponent's knee for leverage). While Jessica is on her back, Revy hits her Houston Hangover (Diving somersault leg drop from the Top Rope) finisher to nap to easy victory.
(Backstage, Revy walks up to Madam Vega’s office and knocks on the door.)
Madam Vega’s Voice: Come in.
(Revy walks into the office, smiling.)
Revy: Hiya boss!
Madam Vega: Hello Revy. What can i do for you?
Revy: Well, I need your help with something. First off - did you see my match?
Madam Vega: I did and was rather impressed. I also enjoyed your match at Lethal Hearts.
Revy: Perfect! I’m glad you’re a fan of my work. I’m just glad Cam caved and allowed me to join the roster.
Madam Vega: (smiles) Well you won’t have to worry about Cam or Consuela for the time being. They’re going to be busy for a while…
(Revy rubs her chin for a moment as a smile creeps up around her face)
Revy: Oh yeah...it’s that time of year. Cool, I guess we’re straight?
Madam Vega: Of course. If anything, I was encouraging for Cam to sign you.
Revy: Awesome boss! It’s nice to see that I have some admirers backstage. I just want you to know that I’m not going to sit around and wait for an opportunity. I’m going to create my own!
Madam Vega: Well, I might be able to help with that.
Revy: (blinks) Oh?
Madam Vega: How about issuing an open challenge on the next show? And whoever accepts will be your opponent at Lethal Takeover.
Revy: Hot tamale! This is why they pay you to big bucks, boss! I’ll do it! If anything this will help me get back into the title scene!
(Revy walks out of the office, feeling re-energized as Madam Vega resumes her paperwork)
(Money by Pink Floyd play in the area, Kayla Winters steps on the stage to a loud course of boos, she smirks as she makes her way to the ring completely ignoring the fans as she enters the ring.)
Kayla Winters: Thank you for such a warm reception, now shut the hell up.
(More boos rain through the area.)
Kayla Winters: I honestly don't care if you idiots boo me. At the last show Sweet Winters got what we wanted, a rematch with the Sakaraka Sister, and don't worry Vega Winters will honor your stupid stipulation, but I'm didn't come here told talk about the freaking Sakaraba Sisters I out to talk about this worthless scrub I'm facing tonight Jessica Hendrix, Jessica, I don't give a damn about what wrestling family your from, and whatever goals you have in this company, to me your nothing, and tonight when I break you in half with the most devastating move in LAW the Special K, you'll go back to dark matches against the other jobber, and I'll be one match closer to Sweet Winters retaining our tag team titles.

Kayla Winters w/Sweet Roxy vs. Jessica Hendrix
Kayla Winters w/Sweet Roxy vs. Jessica Hendrix
Kayla is out for blood as soon as the bell rings. She rushes Jessica and blasts her with punches to the head. She lands a number of jabs before Jessica gets the hint and begins to cover up. Once she does, Kayla switches to body blows. A nasty right hook to the sternum seems to rock Jessica. She backpedals into the corner, but there’s no rest for her there. Kayla charges in and cracks her with a stern European Uppercut. She follows that up with a massive headbutt. The strike drops Jessica to the mat. The referee steps in and separates Kayla from her opponent. Kayla struts about the ring and flexes as Sweet Roxy encourages her from the outside. The fans? They aren’t too pleased; they show their displeasure by booing and jeering.
The referee checks on Jessica, who indicates that she’s able to continue. She uses the ropes to rise to her feet. From there, she charges at Kayla. She jumps up and delivers a dropkick to Kayla’s chest. Jessica makes some good impact, but Kayla’s massive frame seems to absorb the blow. Jessica switches up her strategy and begins to hammer Kayla with forearms to the chest. The first couple don’t seem to affect Kayla. But as they keep coming, the Hybrid Wrestling Machine starts to feel em’. In order to get herself out of that sticky situation, Kayla drives her fingers into Jessica’s eyes. That results in an admonishment from the referee. But Kayla ignores it as she delivers another headbutt to Jessica before she plants her with fireman’s carry slam. Kayla goes for the pin, but Jessica is able to kick out.
Kayla’s onslaught isn’t over though. She yokes Jessica up and puts her into a massive bear hug. Kayla seems hell-bent of squeezing the life out of Jessica. Air is forcibly expelled from her body with each passing second. And the look of Jessica’s face indicates that she knows the danger she’s in. As a result, Jessica starts to punch Kayla. The first few punches hit her in the side; the next couple hit her in shoulder. But they don’t halt Kayla. Jessica then uses both of her hands to clap Kayla in the ears. That makes larger woman break the hold. Kayla stumbles backwards after having her equilibrium messed with. Jessica regroups before she delivers some more forearms to Kayla’s chest. Jessica then shoots herself into the ropes midway through her assault; she rebounds and drills Kayla with a shotgun dropkick. Kayla hits the mat, but is quick to get back up. That’s when Jessica switches the game up and blasts Kayla with a elbow to the neck. She then grabs Kayla and plants her with a tornado DDT. Jessica floats into the pinfall, but Kayla is able to get her shoulder up.
Jessica is feeling it at this point. She gets up and looks to deliver the superkick. But before she can, Sweet Roxy stops her by grabbing ahold of her left foot. This allows Kayla to connect with a knee lift. A disorientated Jessica is then lifted and planted with a spinebuster. She goes for the pinfall, but Jessica gets her hand on the bottom rope. Kayla quickly gets to her feet and looks to end things with the Special K—
That is until the Sakaraba Sisters appear!
Sweet Roxy jumps up to yell at Rina and Yuki as they approach the ring. The commotion causes Roxy to turn around. She gives Rina and Yuki some choices words. But in the process, she takes her eyes off of Jessica. And when Kayla turns back around she get clobbered with a superkick. Jessica drops down for the pin and gets the three-count!
(Mikela Juhász is warming up for her match backstage when she’s approached by Lethal Specialist Champion, April Song.)
April Song: Looking good.
(Mikela stops and looks at April.)
Mikela Juhász: May I help you?
April Song: Well, I just wanted to congratulate you on hitting the jackpot. At Lethal Takeover it’s going to be you and I for this.
(April taps the Lethal Specialist belt that’s over her shoulder)
April Song: But what I want to know - what everyone wants to know - is in what kind of match?
(Mikela looks deep in thought as she rubs her chin.)
Mikela Juhász: I’m still caught between a mud fight and an evening gown match, but I’ll let you know.
April Song: (rolls her eyes) Uh huh.
Mikela Juhász: Alright, just kidding. I do have a stipulation in mind. But, you - and everyone else - will find out next week. Sorry, but I just love suspense.
April Song: Hmm. Well, it’ll be a shame when all that suspense turns out to be for nothing...come Lethal Takeover.
(April winks and walks away, leaving Mikela to consider her words)
Main Event
Singles Match: Roni De Vil vs. Mikela Juhász w/ April Song on Commentary
The match started out with some chain wrestling in the center of the ring. Mikela seems to get the better of the exchange, but Roni soon turned the tables with her effective striking. Her relentless offense forced Mikela in the corner where she was knocked into a seated position. DeVil followed up with a face wash. She misses a Silver Bullet (Running big boot to a cornered opponent) as Mikela slides out of the ring. There is some competitive banner between Mikela and April before Roni attacks her and rolls her back into the ring. Mikela kicks out at two after Roni delivers a vicious Dissolve and Decay (Spinning belly-to-back suplex, sometimes lifted into a spinning side slam. Mikela seemed to mount a comeback in the match by reversing out of a hurricanrana and countering with a swing neackbreaker. Roni countered out of a reverse STO and hit Mikela with The Devil's Gentle Fist (Knockout Punch). Before she could capitalize, Miranda Minors slides into the ring with the Lethal Angel Championship and attacks Mikela with it, giving her the DQ victory! Before Roni could react, Miranda begins attacking her as well!
(The bell continues to ring as Miranda continues to beat the hell out of Roni with the Lethal Angel Championship.)
Melissa Flash: Miranda has completely lost it! She’s laying into the champion with her own title!
Kat Ricci: Officials are trying to stop her but she’s fighting them off too!
Melissa Flash: Wait...what’s this? No Miranda...for the love of God not again! She’s getting a steel chair!
(Miranda rolls back into the ring and fights off several officials. She places the chair around Roni’s knee.)
Kat Ricci: This is exactly what she did to Isabella Veratti back in December! She’s trying to take the champ out of commission! somebody has to stop her!
(a visibly upset and worried Madam Vega marches out with a mic in hand)
Madam Vega: Miranda! I’d think carefully about my next move if I was you!
Miranda Minors: I’d think carefully about YOUR next move! It’d be a shame to have TWO consecutive LAW Champions who wasn’t physically up to the task! So if you take ONE MORE step I’ll make that a reality and pop this bitches’ knee!
Madam Vega: What is it that you want!?
Miranda Minors: You know what I want! A match at Lethal Takeover for MY title!
Madam Vega: …
Miranda Minors: I swear to god Vega if you don’t give me what I want in three seconds…
Madam Vega: …
Miranda Minors: One.
Madam Vega: …
Miranda Minors: Two.
Madam Vega: …
Miranda Minors: Th-
Madam Vega: FINE! Fine! You get your match at Lethal Takeover! Now get the hell out of my ring!
(Satisfied, Miranda Minors leaves the ring as Madam Vega slides in to check on Roni with several medical officials.)
Melissa Flash: I don’t believe this. Miranda Minors just manhandled her way back into the main event scene! Just look at the smug look of satisfaction on her face! I don’t believe this!
(The camera follows Miranda Minors as she walks backwards towards the back as she watches the results of her actions in the ring.)
(LAW and IJWF logos appear on screen)
