Midori Miyamoto Phantom Queen. ZKY
(All three competitors are ready to go for the press conference, the first reporter rises to her feet.) Reporter: All three of you are considered the biggest stars of JET at the moment, and all of you want to become JET World Champion. My question is how confident are you three in your individual abilities?

Another big event, another press conference. And while they had appeared weird to her at first, Midori Miyamoto has grown quite comfortable with them. In fact, you could make a strong argument that she enjoyed those press conferences. It allowed her to speak up and be free.
This one, though? It was a bit different. She wasn’t fighting a war this time. She wasn’t the challenger this time. No. This time, she was the JET World Champion. She was the woman everyone was gunning for.
And secretly, she reveled in that fact. She wanted the challenge of fighting everyone. Because of all that, Midori had intended to wait, in terms of speaking. She intended to let Mitra or Mizuki speak first.
But they didn’t.
In order to not have an awkward silence, Midori leaned forward and adjusted her microphone.
Midroi Miyamoto: Well, I usually start off this press conferences. No need to break tradition, right?
Her mild joke brought a bit of laughter to the room. As everyone settled down, Midori turned her attention to the reporter who had asked the question.
Midroi Miyamoto: Forgive me. I know you are simply doing your job and trying to obtain a great interview. I respect that. However, I have to address something that you just said. And once I do that, it will allow me to fully answer your question.
She paused for a quick second.
Midroi Miyamoto: In this match, I do not “want to become” the JET World Champion…
Her eyes glance over to the belt as it rests next to her on the table.
Midroi Miyamoto: I already am the champion.
She nodded her head.
Midroi Miyamoto: It was not an easy road, either. Everyone in attendance knows my journey, but I’ll recount some of it here for those who might be listening at home.
She paused for a second.
Midroi Miyamoto: Can I be honest? No one in JET cared when I joined. They didn’t care about the talent that I exhibited. They didn’t care about my potential. Most people in JET? They saw me as a footstool. They saw me as someone that they could beat and use to rise up the ranks—
Midroi Miyamoto: They were dead wrong.
She paused for the sake of the reporters who were writing down her words.
Midroi Miyamoto: I was physically attacked and beat down week after week. Wrestlers that the industry has labeled as Mavericks decided to try and disrespect me. There were few people in this company that thought I’d amount to anything.
Midroi Miyamoto: And even though people doubted me, I continued to fight. That’s what I was trained to do. That’s how I became the JET World Champion. And that’s why I’m sitting at this table this very moment.
Midori paused for a moment before she addressed the reporter once more.
Midroi Miyamoto: I’m sure you didn’t mean any disrespect by your question. However, I’m not wanting to become champion. No, I earned the right to call myself the champion when I defeated KAGUYA.
She nodded her head.
Midroi Miyamoto: So please, remember that going forward.
Midori took the time to crack her knuckles before she pressed on.
Midroi Miyamoto: You also asked about our confidence going into this championship match. I can’t speak to how Mitra and Mizuki are feeling. However, I can tell you that my confidence is at an all time high right now.
Midroi Miyamoto: My confidence and words aren’t birthed from arrogance; they come as a result of what I’ve gone through here at JET.
Her eyes glance over at Mitra.
Midroi Miyamoto: Ms. Marvel is a great wrestler; no one can doubt that. No one can take that away from her. However, I’ve proven that I can defeat her. I best her in the finals of the Biggest Dreamers Tournament—the same Tournament that earned me a match for the JET World Championship.
Midroi Miyamoto: I understand that Mitra will be coming into this match with a certain fire. She has come up short a few times within JET. This is her chance to show that she belongs. I doubt that she is going to be lax in the ring…
Midori’s eyes moved over to Mizuki.
Midroi Miyamoto: And of course, there’s Mizuki. She is a woman that I know quite well. We teamed together. We went to war together. We became champions together.
Midori nodded her head.
Midroi Miyamoto: Why am I confident that I can defeat you? It’s because I walked by your side for all those months. I know the nature of your character; you’re a good woman. I also know that you are a warrior. You are a woman that the company has called on during tough times, just like myself.
There was a slight pause.
Midroi Miyamoto: You’re an amazing wrestler, Mizuki. However, I’ll never just roll over and let you have this JET World Championship. I would be disrespecting myself if I did that. And I’d be disrespecting you as well...
There was another pause.
Midroi Miyamoto: You were one of the few people to spot my potential. You were one of the few people to realize that I had the ability to be something here in JET. And when we step into the ring, you’re going to see just how true your prophecy was.
With that, Midori sat back in her seat.
