“Episode 2: One Step Closer”
(“I am the Fire” by Haelstorm plays as the intro to Monday Night LAW plays. Afterward, the camera opens to the streets of Boyle Heights. The scene changes to the interior of the LAW Arena where hundreds of fans are standing from their seats, cheering in excitement.)
Melissa Flash: Welcome to another exciting episode of Monday Night LAW! We are in the semi-finals of the Lethal Angel Championship Tournament!
Kat Ricci: Tonight we have Serenity Scorpio vs Avery Knight, and Daisy Thrash vs Miranda Minors! Who will-huh?
Melissa Flash: Welcome to another exciting episode of Monday Night LAW! We are in the semi-finals of the Lethal Angel Championship Tournament!
Kat Ricci: Tonight we have Serenity Scorpio vs Avery Knight, and Daisy Thrash vs Miranda Minors! Who will-huh?
(“I'll Be -- Foxy Brown plays through the speakers as Jasmine Peyton walks out with a mean and angry look on her face. She is possibly still angry about the surprise roll up in her match against Serenity Scorpio.)
Jasmine Peyton: CUT MY MUSIC!
(The crowd begins to boo as “I’ll Be” fades away. Jasmine continues to walk down the ramp and into the ring.)
Jasmine Peyton: I don’t know if you losers can tell, but I’m not my smiling self tonight. Do you want to know why?
Melissa Flash (sarcastic): Please tell us.
Jasmine Peyton: I was a victim of cheating. Not relationship wise because my husband would be an idiot to cheat on this (camera gets a full look of Jasmine) I was a victim of cheating! I am talking about Serenity Scorpio, who happened to get a roll up victory over me. Everyone knows I would have advanced to the second round if it wasn’t for Serenity getting that roll up. But nope, you people do not get the satisfaction of seeing me in the finals because there is no doubt I would have been there (looks at the ramp). I am demanding for Madam Vega to reverse her decision and announce me as a winner? If she doesn’t comply to my demand, then I might as well keep the whole show hijacked. No Monday Night LAW for you disgusting neckbeards.
(The crowd continues to boo, but louder. Madam Vega’s music is nowhere to be heard as that is rubbing Jasmine the wrong way.)
Jasmine Peyton: Come on, Vega. I am holding your show hostage, might as well do the right thing and come out.
(Nothing is heard again as Jasmine rolls her eyes.)
Jasmine Peyton: COME ON, VEGA! I DEMAND THAT YOU COM --
(“Beast” -- Nico Vega plays as the crowd boos louder for Lieta Collins, who comes out with a mean look on her face. Jasmine Peyton begins to look concerned for her well-being.)
Lieta Collins: Sorry, Jasmine. I happen to hear you say that you were cheated out of your victory because I can relate to that problem. I was cheated as well. I should have defeated Avery Knight and advanced to the second round! Everyone knows that I was clearly dominating Avery until she got lucky and got the victory! Avery barely made it out of this match alive thanks to me. My point is: we were both screwed from victories that we deserved.
Jasmine Peyton: You’re damn right we were.
Lieta Collins: We cannot allow that to happen again. So, I propose a partnership. You and me have each other’s backs. You and I can take over this damn company! We can help each other get the gold that rightfully belong to us. We can crush our competition beneath our feet. What do you say?
Jasmine Peyton: You and I as a team (laughs, which rubs Lieta the wrong way? I like the way you think, Lieta. With us running roughshod, we’ll make LAW ours! It’s a deal.
(Lieta and Jasmine shake hands, solidifying their partnership as “I’ll Be” plays through the speakers again.)
Kat Ricci: This may be one of the best partnerships on LAW. Nothing will be able to stop them!
Melissa Flash: If I were the rest of the locker room, I would be concerned about this duo.
Lethal Angel Championship Tournament Semi-Finals
Serenity Scorpio vs Avery Knight
The match begins with Serenity and Avery feeling each other out. Avery attempts a lock-up, but Serenity keeps her away with several low kicks. This frustrates Avery, who catches Serenity out of nowhere with a hurricanrana. Serenity lands on her feet but is thrown into the corner. Knight follows up with a corner hip attack, and Serenity hits the mat. Knight applies a chin lock, causing Serenity to struggle. Avery transitions to a surfboard stretch, but Serenity slips out and jumps to her feet. She ducks he forearm strike and counters with an arm-trapped hangman’s facebuster. Serenity follows up with a standing moonsault and goes for a cover. Avery kicks out at one. Serenity picks up her opponent and whips her to ropes. She catches Knight in the chest with a front dropkick. Feeding off the energy of the match, she climbs the ropes! Perched up high, she goes for a 450 Scorpio Splash...but Avery has her legs up!
Melissa Flash: Serenity took a risk-taking to the sky, but unfortunately, it didn’t pay off!
Serenity is holding her midsection in pain and Avery wastes no time going for a pin! Scorpio kicks out at two-and-a-half! Avery sits up her opponent, and applies a sleeper hold! Serenity is weak but tries to fight out of it. Avery shuts her down with a sidewalk slam! Knight whips Serenity to the corner again, who falls into a seated position. Avery walks over and unleashes a vicious storm of mudhole stomps. The ref starts to count, with Knight breaking away just before the five count. She picks up Serenity and ties her up in a Tarantula (Rope-Hung Boston Crab)! Once again letting go just before the five count, Avery stalks her opponent, eager to set up the finish. Knight casually picks up Serenity by the wrist, a sign to how she’s going to end the match. She sets up for the Black Heart Inertia (hammerlock lariat) but Serenity ducks under and counters with a Scorpio Death Drop! Using whatever energy she has left, Serenity crawls towards the nearest corner, and climbs to the top! She waits for Avery to get to her feet and hits the Scorpio Crush (diving corkscrew stunner) to secure the victory!
Kat Ricci: Serenity Scorpio just defeated one-half of the tag champs to advance to the finals! Avery showed some veteran moves out there, but Serenity capitalized after evading her finisher! Who will Scorpio fight at Homecoming!?
(Introduction - Jocelyn Sky and McKenzie Hoyte. The eerie sight of The House That Diemos Built is shown.)
Jocelyn Sky: My name is Jocelyn Sky and there are many people who are familiar with my older brother and his wife, but they don’t know much about me.
(Pictures of Jocelyn when she is younger are shown.)
Jocelyn Sky: I come from a family of wrestlers, but I want to branch away from that. I don’t want to be known as a Diemos and want to make a name for myself.
(Pictures of Jocelyn and Stephanie Matsuda are shown.)
Jocelyn Sky: Stephanie Matsuda was someone that was there for me during my time of need. Without her, I would not be the wrestler I am today. She has been a positive person in my life during my darkest moments and I cannot thank her any less. I’m here to prove that Stephanie’s teachings will not go to waste and I will become something in LAW.
(Footage of McKenzie’s Hoyte’s run as Sydney St. Clair in Elite Answers Wrestling is shown.)
McKenzie Hoyte: My name is McKenzie Hoyte. Many people knew me as Sydney St. Clair, but I think it’s time for people to know what McKenzie Hoyte is all about.
(Footage of McKenzie taking risks and doing highflying moves in the ring.)
McKenzie Hoyte: My style is highflying. I am a risk taker. I’m a thrill seeker. I love been in the air and just doing whatever crazy move my mind thinks of.
(McKenzie’s last match in EAW is shown with her in a loss.)
McKenzie Hoyte: After my loss, I thought that was it for me. I found that this wasn’t the place I wanted to be in. When LAW was announced to be relaunched, I did not hesitate and signed on the dotted line to be part of this relaunch. I knew that this was going to be my redemption.
(McKenzie’s performance again the Lethal Specialists Ladder Match is shown with her climbing up the ladder and retrieving the title.)
McKenzie Hoyte: I poured everything into that match and it was my redemption when I pulled that title from the hook. This Lethal Specialists Championship means the world to me and there is nothing that can stop me.
Singles Match
Jocelyn Sky vs McKenzie Hoyt
From the moment the bell rings, the match begins at a fast pace! Jocelyn gets a snapmare off, but misses the soccer kick! McKenzie makes her pay for her mistake with a DDT! She picks up Jocelyn and whips her to the ropes! Jocelyn rebounds and catches her in the face with a running yakuza kick! McKenzie hits the mat, surprised at how her opponent recovered so fast! Jocelyn goes for a running knee drop, but Hoyt rolls out the way! Just as Jocelyn gets to her feet, McKenzie catches her with a sling blade! She runs to the nearest corner and jumps to the top rope! She waits for Jocelyn to get to her feet and leaps at her opponent for a diving hurricanrana! Jocelyn is flipped onto her back! McKenzie lifts her on her shoulders and goes for a Spark Ignition (fireman’s carry overhead kick) but Jocelyn slips out from the back and gets some separation with an inverted hurricanrana! She tries to throw Hoyt out of the ring, but she Came Back Swinging with a handspring clothesline!
Kat Ricci: It seems like the Lethal Specialist has an answer for everything Jocelyn throws at her! Sky needs to find a way to get ahead of the curve!
McKenzie struggles to get back to her feet. She stomps on Jocelyn several times, and picks her up to deliver a jumping neckbreaker! While Jocelyn holds her neck in pain, Mckenzie goes for a pin that her opponent break out of at the two count. Feeling distraught, McKenzie attempts a Magic Satchel (ripcord lungblower), but Sky counters the ripcord attempt with a hip toss! McKenzie gets to her knees, but she’s struck by a shining wizard! Jocelyn lifts Hoyt in a fireman’s carry position to deliver the Zantetsuken, but McKenzie slips out the back and knocks Joelyn out the ring with a front dropkick! She Soars! McKenzie hits the suicide dive, crashing into Jocelyn. Both women hit the ground hard, taking several seconds to get back to their feet. By then the ref has already counted down to a ring out. With six ring out counts left, McKenzie tried to throw Jocelyn back into the ring, but she whipped Hoyt into the steel steps instead. Sky hops onto the apron and connects with a running soccer kick, knocking Hoyt into La-La Land. Without thinking ahead, Jocelyn follows up with a Skyward Sword (diving double stomp) from the apron, onto Jocelyn. The bell rings as the ref calls for a double countout.
Melissa Flash: Wow what a match! But unfortunately, Jocelyn got caught up with fighting on the outside, that she forgot about getting back into the ring!
(Daisy Thrash is seen backstage, stretching and preparing for her match against Miranda Minors later in the night. Daisy stops stretching as she looks to her side.)
Daisy Thrash: And, what can you want?
(The camera pans to Tiffany Santana who stands there with a fake smile on her face.)
Tiffany Santana: I won’t take too much of your time since you’ve focused on beating Miranda Minors tonight, but I just want to say you may have gotten the victory over me last week, but I’ll return the favor.
(Tiffany Santana pats Daisy Thrash on the back before leaving as Daisy looks at her direction confused.)
Daisy Thrash: What is that supposed to mean? A Sheriff gotta find these answers.
Singles Match
Jasmine Peyton vs Tiffany Santana
At the start of the match, Jasmine spent most of her time along the ropes, much to Tiffany’s frustration. Santana urged her to meet her in the center of the ring, but Peyton plays it cool. Tiffany charges at her and starts delivering several vicious short-arm clotheslines. Peyton tries to grab the ropes, and is tossed to the center of the ring. Tiffany slams Peyton’s legs and follows up with a modified surfboard stretch. Sanatana starts to play with her opponent, applying several different types of holds and stretches onto her opponent. Santana picks up Peyton and deadlifts her with a bridging German suplex! Jasmine kicks out at two, and rolls away. Tiffany tries to continue her assault, but was kicked in the gut! Peyton applies the cravate, and unleashed a series of knee strikes to the face! Tiffany caught the fifth knee and counters with a dragon screw leg whip!
Melissa Flash: Looks like Jasmine is paying the price for being lackadaisical during the opening minutes of the match! Santana is on the hunt, looking like she wants to end this match!
Tiffany unleashes a series of stomps on Jasmine, who’s holding her leg. She’s not finished as she gets Peyton in the double-underhook position, but Jasmine counters with a back body drop! As she limps around the ring, Santana is back on her feet. Jasmine goes for a desperate clothesline, but Santana ducks- and gets caught by a northern lariat from behind. She flips Tiffany over with a hair-pull snapmare and begins clubbing her back. Jasmine follows-up with an inverted double-leg slam, setting up for the Pretty Hurts (Bridging cross-legged Boston crab). Jasmine locks in the submission, causing Tiffany to scream out in pain! As Santana tries to reach the ropes, Lieta Collins makes her way to the ring. As Tiffany tries to reach the ropes, Collins quickly smacks her hands away before the ref could spot her. A moment later, the hold becomes too much for Tiffany who taps out!
Kat Ricci: Tiffany Santana got screwed! She was seconds away from getting the rope break, but Lieta Collins made sure her new partner got the win!
(“Kites” fades as the Dynamic Duo are in the middle of the ring with mics in their hands.)
Jocelyn Sky: At the Supershow Alliance, we gave everything we had to win those Lethal Tag Team Championships.
Serenity Scorpio: Sadly, it was not enough and the Knight Dynasty, Sidney and Avery Knight were able to capture those titles. Ever since Jocelyn and I have been going over and over again about the mistakes we made in the match and we want to better ourselves from it.
Jocelyn Sky: With further to do, we request that the Knight Dynasty come out and answer this question. So please, Sidney and Avery.
(Nothing is heard for a few moments before “Raise Hell”--DOROTHY plays to another standing ovation from the LAW fans in attendance. From the curtain, Sidney and Avery Knight come out with the Lethal Tag Team Championships on their shoulders. The two walk to the ring and enter it before raising the titles up in the air before getting mics.)
Melissa Flash: Here are the two women that defeated the Dynamic Duo to get those championships they are raising! I wonder what Jocelyn and Serenity have in mind.
Jocelyn Sky: Thank you, Sidney and Avery for coming out. I promise that this will not be a waste of your time, but you see, Serenity and I have been looking over our match against the two of you and we see the mistakes we made. The more we thought about those mistakes, the more we realized that the two of you took advantage of that. Now, that we caught those mistakes and worked on them, we wanted to ask you this.
Serenity Scorpio: We want a rematch against the two of you with the Lethal Tag Team Championships on the line at Homecoming. What do you say?
(The Knight Dynasty looks around the cheering crowd, who want them to accept this match more than anything in this world before looking back at the Dynamic Duo. Sidney and Avery talk amongst themselves before looking back at the Dynamic Duo.)
Sidney Knight: We take on all challengers.
Avery Knight: You’re on!
(The crowd begins to cheer loudly as “Raise Hell” plays as the Dynamic Duo smile before having a stare down with the Knight Dynasty.)
Melissa Flash: Dynamic Duo vs. The Knight Dynasty II is on at Homecoming! If this match is anything like their first, we are in for a classic!
Lethal Angel Championship Tournament Semi-Finals
Daisy Thrash vs Miranda Minors
As soon as the bell rings, the match begins with a lock-up! Daisy and Miranda trade some back and forth chain wrestling. The sequence ends with Miranda transitioning to an armbar! Daisy gets a foot on the rope, causing a rope break. Miranda quickly lets go and stomps away at the mid-section, forcing Daisy to roll out of the ring. Miranda slides out of the ring and slams her opponents face against the apron! Daisy stumbles about and Miranda uses the momentum to toss her into the barricade! Thrash leans against the barricade, trying to recover, but gets caught in the face with a heel kick! Miranda rolls Daisy back into the ring and goes for a pin, that Daisy kicks out of at two! Miranda picks up Daisy, who creates some separation with a surprise standing dropkick! Minors get back to her feet, but Daisy catches her with a snap DDT. Thrash applies the finger bend, causing Minors to scream out in pain!
Kat Ricci: Daisy seems to have Miranda dead to rights with this comeback! Look at the way her fingers are being pulled back!
Miranda counters with an elbow to the nose! Daisy stumbles towards the ropes catches Minors off guard with a back body drop to the outside. Minors lands on the apron and pokes Daisy in the eyes! As Daisy tried to break out of the hold, Miranda starts elbowing Thrash in the face, causing her to tap out!
Melissa Flash: After some foul play, Miranda Minors is going to the finals! It will be her and Serenity Scorpio for the Lethal Angel Championship at Homecoming! I had high hopes for Daisy, but it will interesting to see what happens with the fallout next week! Wait! Is That Tiffany Santana!? She’s coming out to the ring!
(Tiffany Santana slides into the ring and delivers a vicious Santanacide (double-underhook sitout powerbomb) to Daisy Thrash! There’s a last shot of Santana standing above Daisy as the logos for WWA and LAW appear before it fades to black)
