The cameras caught up to Midori Miyamoto backstage after her match. She sat on a bench just outside the the locker room. A white towel was wrapped around her shoulders. Midori used the end of the towel to wipe some sweat away from her forehead. She let out an audible sigh, one that could be heard all the way down the hall. It brought forth an interviewer from Final Bout Magazine. He allowed her a second or two to breath before he asked her thoughts about the outcome of her first RISE Grand Prix match.
Midori Miyamoto: …
Midori remained silent for a couple of seconds. She took the other corner of the towel dry before she spoke up in Japanese.
Midori Miyamoto: Part of me wants to be mad and upset. I should be furious. But honestly? I just don’t have the energy…
She let out another sigh as she shook her head.
Midori Miyamoto: Every time that I step into a JET ring, it seems like the person or people across from me feel the need to try take some sort of short-cut. Random attacks. Assaulting my tag team partners. Using underhanded tactics during the match. That’s all I’ve really known since I’ve debuted in this promotion. So Stela doing the same? Par for the course, I guess. It’s disappointing, really. But, it is what it is…
There was a moment where she simply stared at the floor. But after a bit of time passed, a tiny smile came to her face.
Midori Miyamoto: Maybe I should start taking it as some sort of compliment? Because a person only needs to employ cowardly tactics when they realize that they’re going up against a true threat. Maybe that’s the perspective I need to start taking.
She nodded her head. The interviewer thanked her before he walked off. Midori used her arms to push off the bench. The camera faded out as she walked into the locker room.
