Episode 29: After the Race
(“Venom” by Icon for Hire plays as the intro to Thursday Night LAW is shown. The current roster of stars is shown including Roni de Vil, Sweet Roxy, Celes Dumont, Io Ishimori, The Sakaraba Sisters, April Song and RAVE, Inc. The intro ends with Lethal Specialist Champion Revy, Lethal Tag Team Champions Jessica Hendrix & “Big Sexy” Santana, and Lethal Angel Champion Kayla Winters. The camera switches to the LAW Arena in Boyle Heights, CA where it’s filled with hundreds of LAW faithful. Melissa Flash and Kat Ricci are shown sitting in their designated commentary seats.)
Melissa Flash: Welcome to the LAW after Finish Line! I’m Melissa Flash!
Kat Ricci: And I’m her partner in crime Kat Ricci! What an amazing show two weeks ago!
Melissa Flash: We bore witness to the rise of a new dominant tag team here in LAW: Celes Dumont & Io Ishimori, who defeated Amy Slayton & Marika Reimon, known as The Black Hearts to become the inaugural winners of the Lethal 500!
Kat Ricci: Speaking of tag teams, Hendrix & Santana has retained their tag team titles against Dynamic Duo! As for the Specialist Division, we have a new champion in Revy, who ended April Song’s 216-day reign!
Melissa Flash: As for Kayla Winters, interference from Sweet Roxy caused a disruption in her match against Roni de Vil - which will be addressed by General Manager Madam Vega tonight! But first, our first match of the night!
Singles Match
Anna Clark vs Brina Lee
The match starts off with Anna Clark refusing to tie-up with Brina who becomes easily frustrated with Clark’s keep-away tactics. When she attempts to corner Clark, the redhead slips out to the outside. Having enough, Lee flies out of the ring with a suicide dive from out of nowhere! Rallying for the crowd to get behind her, Brina rolled Anna back into the ring. She climbed the nearest turnbuckle and landed a beautiful moonsault, but Clark kicked out at two. Trying to not be frustrated, Lee got to her feet and sent Anna to the corner with an Irish whip. She attempted to capitalize on her success with a flying clothesline, but Anna dodged, causing Lee to crash into the turnbuckle. Clark hits a superkick from out of nowhere and goes for a pin of her own. Brina kicks out at two, causing Clark to have a small temper tantrum. This gives Brina some time to recover as she props herself up to one knee. Clark takes the opportunity to roll her up, but Lee kicks out. Both women are on their feet but Anna hit a surprise Dragon Screw Neck Whip followed by a Red Flash (curbstomp) for the win.
Winner: Anna Clark
Interview
(The camera opens to backstage correspondent Maria Cuesta standing backstage with Tori de Vil.)
Maria Cuesta: Hey everyone, I’m here with LAW’s newest signee, Tori de Vil! Now, Tori, you were previously signed with our sister promotion, JET. Is there any reason why you decided to come here instead of staying in Japan?
(Tori casually smiles before replying.)
Tori de Vil: As everyone knows, Japan wasn’t my home country. I wanted the experience of working for one of their “Joshi promotions” and JET seemed like a good fit. But alas, you can only stay away from home for so long. So I decided to hop over to LAW where my cousin Roni resides. Speaking of which, she’s been having a bit of a Sweet Winters problem this past year. I think that’s something that needs to be addressed.
Maria Cuesta: How are you going to help her with this problem?
Tori de Vil: Why standing by her side...as an insurance policy, of course.
(Tori winks at the camera and walks away before Maria could finish the interview. Maria turns to the camera and casually shrugs.)
Singles Match
Kiki Kumiko w/ Cassidy Vega vs Yuki Sakaraba
Kiki Kumiko w/ Cassidy Vega vs Yuki Sakaraba
Cassidy charges at Yuki right at the bell and catches her unaware with a double foot shotgun kick that sends the taller Yuki hard into the turnbuckles before Cassidy quickly gets up and hits a cannonball onto the former tag team champion before she quickly rolls out of the corner and drags Yuki out for a quick pin attempt but Yuki kicks out of it but Cassidy shoves her back down hard and tries for another pin but Yuki kicks out again that sends Cassidy flying slightly before Cassidy attempts for a penalty kick right into Yuki’s face but Yuki ducks under it and then quickly slams the ball of her elbow right into the side of Cassidy’s left knee that causes her to stumble against the ropes, but gives Yuki a chance to quickly get into a standing position).
Kat: Right off the back, Cassidy attempts to get a quick victory in hopes of getting her team back into their winning ways.
Melissa: I know but I just hope that Yuki doesn’t get too overconfident. I mean that might have been what cost them the match against Celes and Io a couple of weeks back.
Yuki is back up to her feet first and lands a very solid side kick into the right side of Cassidy’s ribs before she quickly ducks under a discus clothesline attempt to hit a snap capture suplex onto the shorter girl before quickly stomping on Cassidy’s right leg in order to get a chance to land a standing dropkick onto the other woman before she yanks Cassidy back up into a standing position where Yuki motions that she’s going to go for her Super Galactic Collider lariat on a staggered Cassidy but the other girl quickly ducks under it and when Yuki turns around to see what happened, she gets a very stiff slap to the face followed by another one to the right side of her face, then another to her left side, and then another to the right as Cassidy simply starts going to town, but none of her slaps has her usual theatrics to it… she is simply out for blood as she hits one really good one and then quickly hits a brainbuster on Yuki).
Melissa: Cassidy with a full on head of steam, I think that she might be able to pull a win out!
Cassidy lifts up Yuki for another brainbuster, but instead of letting go of the other woman-she keeps a firm grip on Yuki’s right wrist and then hauls her up before dropping her with a short clothesline which she then repeats another three times before on the fifth, she rears back to hit a big one but Yuki ducks under that one and quickly comes back with a Trouble in Paradise kick that catches Cassidy with the tip of Yuki’s shoe tagging the very top of Cassidy’s head, flooring her as the former champion quickly rolls her up for the pin).
*ONE* *TTWWOO* *TTTHHHRRREEEEEE*!!!
*DING DING*
Winner: Yuki Sakaraba
Post-Match
(Deanna holds up Yuki’s hand in triumph as Rina gets into the ring to celebrate with her sister while Kiki and Deanna go to check on Cassidy, who is still out of it from how last kick caught her flat on the head)
Segment
(We return back to the arena, “Voracity” by Myth & Roid is playing. LAW Specialist Champion, Revy is already in the ring in casual wear with a huge smirk on her face. In the ring, we have two stools as Revy basks in the ovation she is receiving from the crowd. “The Hunger” by Of Mice of Men plays as the crowd boos. Evelyn Bennett comes out in with a “Hollywood Fight Club” sports jacket and proceeds to make her way down to the ring. Revy is reviewing in her hands, what appears to be a script before Evelyn finally makes it to the ring. Revy scrambles to offer a hug, which Bennett declines and simply just goes to her seat. Revy goes to hers as well. Revy with the mic in hand now.)
Revy: Alright, before we start, I just want to say “Thank you” to everyone that has supported me up to this point. Ok, let's start this interview.
(Revy puts the mic down on her lap and simply stares at Evelyn. The arena goes quiet before Evelyn chooses to speak up.)
Evelyn: Aren't you gonna ask a question?
Revy: Aren't you interviewing me? Is this not like a Press Release thing for me winning the title?
Evelyn: No. You are suppose to interview me.
Revy: Whaaaaaa? Let me check something here. (Revy proceeds to flip through her notebook). Ah, my mistake. Sorry, this whole being a champion thing is a new and weird concept for me. So much more responsibilities and, you know, I'm just trying to adjust to it, but this explains a lot. Like, why do I have these note cards with questions that I can't answer, and why the interviewer was coming out with an entrance. Duh! It's role reversal.
Evelyn: You thought I was.... we've wrestled! Are you drunk right now?
Revy: Hey! I'm asking the questions here.... but yes. Anyway, question number 1. One of your biggest features as a lethal angel is your size, see what I did there. Tell us, is your physique intentional and how did you get there?
(Evelyn rolls her eyes as Revy just shrugs and points at her assigned note card)
Evelyn: Well, Revy, if you ask me, I'm getting real sick and tired of seeing twigs win championships, and I'm here to promote that women of any size can win.
Revy: Wait, so wouldn't that means twigs have just as much of a right to win?
Evelyn: Yes, but...
Revy: If you ask me, Evelyn, you aren't even that big. I mean, what are you? 150 lbs? I mean, that's only like a 35 lb different from what I am. I'd need to be carrying like, 2-3 babies to match your weight... I mean, not that I'm saying you look pregnant. Oh god, did I just assume?! I'm messing this interview up. Code Red. Abort! Abort. Not the babies!! I mean, that's up to you, it's your body. I'm not body shaming you! Oh god, is this gonna be why they take my title away from me?
Evelyn: Revy, for the love of god, move on.
Revy: You got it. Next question. So you came from the Hollywood Fight Club, the school which LAW has partnered up with, and is currently taking applications for, in which anyone that would like to get a start on their wrestling career like Evelyn here... wink wink...
Evelyn: Revy, I'm not new. We have legit faced each other before.
Revy: And I've mentioned I was too drunk to remember.
Evelyn: Let's cut to the chase. Revy, why don't you ask me why I am out here?
(Revy looks at her before turning down to look at her script, constantly darting eyes between Evelyn and the script. She turns through a couple of pages as Bennett looks increasingly annoyed.)
Revy: Alright, Evelyn. Why are you out here?
Evelyn: Well, Revy, seeing as how you got your match with April Song at Finish Line for the Specialist Championship by simply asking for a match.....
(Evelyn looks at Revy who blankly stares at her back, Evelyn gestures for Revy to finish the thought, but Revy continues to remain silent.)
Evelyn: I mean, if that is all it takes to get a championship match here these days, despite already losing once to April a couple months back, lets be honest here, Revy. Your championship rematch opportunity was completely unwarranted. April didn't need to accept your challenge, so I came out here on a public platform just so I can...
Revy: I got it now. I know why you are out here. It's so we can talk about how you shouldn't accept fights and how fuckin' stupid Apr...
(“Star Boy” by the Weeknd plays as Olga Petrov marches out from the stages and down the ramp. Evelyn and Revy seem confused as Olga slides her way into the ring.)
Revy: Hey Olga, you want to talk about how stupid Apr...
Olga: Shut up. Before Evelyn here starts demanding for more opportunities here, how about giving me a shot first, after all, I've come to LAW, dominated, and have yet to receive one. Is this not, America, land of opportunity? Of course, if asking for it doesn't work, let me show Evelyn here how we get opportunities in Russia...... (Olga walks up to Evelyn's face and makes a fist ).. by force.
(“I Will Not Bow” by Breaking Benjamin plays Carla Luna comes out to a pop. Carla is on the stage with a mic in hand)
Carla: Now hold on Ladies. While you both are making some great cases here, Let's not forget what is more important here. I'm talking about what the fans want. And what they want is for their favorite, Carla Luna get a shot for the title.
(Fans cheer as Olga and Evelyn look on in annoyance)
Revy: Alright, Alright. So this clearly isn't about April Song. I get that now. And you know what, you all make great points. Olga, America. Love that patriotism. Carla, give the fans what they want. Capitalism, Dig it. Evelyn, not gonna lie, the case you are making is pretty weak. But shouldn't this be something you take up with the champ?
(Carla, Olga, and Evelyn look on in confusion and stare at Revy)
Revy: You know? Kayla, the LAW Champion? Aren't you all talking about the world title?
(Carla, Olga, Evelyn all turn and look at one another, before picking the mic up in union)
Carla, Olga, Evelyn: NO STUPID! WE WANT YOUR TITLE!!
(Revy looks at them, before looking at her championship belt over her shoulder.)
Revy: Wait, were you guys talking about me?...............Hold up, let me check the script real quick. (Revy flips through the pages once more)...... what?.... but.... well, I'll be. Welp, I thought I was coming out here to just do a little interview, but yeah, right there. “Challenges for the LAW Specialist Title.” I was told this was gonna happen a lot when you are the Champion.
(Carla, Olga, and Evelyn are visibly irritated as shake their head in disbelief)
Revy: HEY, I NEVER EXPECTED TO MAKE IT THIS FAR! I'm still learning here. Alright, then, how we gonna do this? Do we make a line and I face you each one on on... wait a minute. Nah. That's stupid. That's something April would do. I don't gotta do this. I don't gotta accept this. Why would I accept 3 challenges at once …. when I can do it all in one match? Revy vs Evelyn vs Olga vs Carla in a Fatal Fourway for the LAW Specialist Title, because wrestling one match is clearly better than having to wrestle three. Look at that, Revy, already, you are being an efficient champion showing off your match skills. You're gonna be just fine!
Evelyn: Revy, you sure you don't want to rethink about this?
Revy: No, I'm sure. See, it's written here in the script. “Fatal Fourway for the Lethal Specialist Belt.”
(Evelyn, Olga , and Carla are still confused, but relent and just go with it. As “Voracity” by Myth & Roid plays. Revy rolls out of the ring and raises the title into the air as she makes her way towards the back)
Kat Ricci: I gotta tell, you, it was incredibly hard to not talk during that whole time, considering how many things went wrong there.
Melissa Flash: Eh, don't let that fool you. Revy has shown that she can play stupid to have her opponents underestimate her, and based on what we just witness, I believe it.
Kat Ricci: I dunno, there is a good reason why we didn't hire her immediately in the first place, and no matter how you look at it, Revy's chance of losing the title increases in a fatal fourway. Heck, she doesn't even need to get pinned to lose it.
Melissa Flash: But look at how happy she is. That's confidences. I'm sure she knows what she is doing.
Kat Ricci: It's probably ignorance! “Why wrestle 3 separate matches when you can just do 1?” Um, so you can face each woman one at a time instead of all 3 at once. Why would you agree to this?
Melissa Flash: Well, with that all said and done, the champion has accepted all 3 of their request and has given them the opportunity the essentially demanded for. If you ask me, Revy is aware of how she got the title to begin with, and to decline them now would be hypocritical and make her look bad as a champ.
Kat Ricci: If you ask me, she probably doesn't care how she looks, and despite accepting this match, she still looks bad as a champ.
Melissa Flash: Just give her a chance! Gosh.
Tag Team Match
Io Ishimori & Celes Dumont w/ Yoshi-San vs The Verrazano Sisters
Io Ishimori & Celes Dumont w/ Yoshi-San vs The Verrazano Sisters
Deanna calls for the bell and it looks like Lynn will start the match out for her team while Io will start it out for hers with Lynn making a mocking little “dismissal” motion at Celes who then looks over at Io, tilts her head at Lynn which makes Io smile and Io slips out of the ring as Celes pulls herself up to her feet.
*DING* *DING*!!
Lynn and Celes meet in the middle of the ring and Lynn starts to trash talk the Bostonian who simply smiles and then gets a sharp forearm strike to the face followed by an Irish whip into the far turnbuckles with Lynn quickly following it up with a corner elbow smash which she then very cockily moves away from Celes… or tries to at least before Celes quickly grabs Lynn from behind and then practically throws her into very same turnbuckles and starts to lay in some very heavy shoot kicks into the mid-section of Lynn!!
Melissa: And Celes is already showing why she is not one person to take lightly as Lynn thought she could do.
Kat: Yeah, the one thing you do not want to do is take that woman lightly!
Melissa: No kidding. I wonder if Lynn will make that mistake again?!
Deanna gets Celes to break off her attack at which point she locks Lynn into an inverted full nelson and walks the two of them over to where Io is who tags in by slapping the back of her partner’s right shoulder before quickly running towards the far turnbuckle and quickly hitting a springboard missile drop kick at the same time that Celes hits an Inverted full nelson suplex on Lynn which drives the lighter half of the Verrazano sisters over to her corner where Daria quickly tags herself in.
Kat: An impressive tandem move by Io and Celes, one has to wonder…
Melissa: Wonder what?
Kat: Did you do that?
Melissa: Do what?
Kat points at something and Melissa follows the path of Kat’s finger to show us that Yoshi-san is now looking at the two of them instead of at the ring.
Melissa: So...yeah…
Kat: Um… yeah, that was some pretty impressive tandem work. For two people who have a history of not trusting each other, they have nailed some pretty impressive tandem moves during the tournament and here tonight.
Io turns to face Daria who quickly charges in with a spear that drives the Japanese woman down to the mat as she then starts to lay down one heavy fist after another to Io before Io is able to get an arm up which Daria then quickly spins that into a high-angle Fujiwara Armbar but Io is able to use her flexibility to force one of her legs around Daria’s head and then forces the two of them over and she tries to get Daria’s shoulders onto the mat but Daria releases the hold and then stomps on Io’s thigh but she walks backwards and almost into Celes who tries to grab her but the Verrazano sister instead backs up and flips her off instead before she turns and gets caught hard by a jumping high knee from Io which knocks her back before she hits a rope assisted Gamigiri kick which knocks the sister down to the apron at which point Io tags in Celes and the two women share a dark smile.
Kat: I think that we’re about to see the end here, Melissa.
Celes quickly moves over and picks up Daria, lifting her up into Tombstone position while Io quickly hits a double jump moonsault which she spikes the tombstone which Celes follows up with a pin attempt.
ONE….TTWWOO...TTTHHHRRREEEEE!!!
*DING* *DING*!!
Winners: Io Ishimori & Celes Dumont
Post-Match
(Deanna holds up the arms of Io and Celes before they roll out of the ring and head over to the commentary table where Celes gives Kat another private little smile while Io picks up Yoshi as “Hell” begins to play once more)
Backstage
(Lethal Tag Team Champions Jessica Hendrix and “Big Sexy” Santana, along with their manager Frankie are spending time in the locker room with their titles. when Serenity Scorpio and Jocelyn Sky - Dynamic Duo - walk up to them. There is a brief moment of tension between the two teams when Serenity raised her hands up.)Serenity Scorpio: Hey guys, we’re not here to start any trouble. We come in peace.
(Jessica and Santana stared at Jocelyn, who confirmed her partner’s statement with a nod.)
Jocelyn Sky: We just wanted to say, GG - good game for our match at Finish Line.
Serenity Scorpio: You guys have proved that you’re the superior team. Don’t doubt for one second that you guys deserve to be champions.
Jocelyn Sky: But, one day we’ll be back for those belts. We’ll be stronger, smarter, and willing to do whatever it takes next time we share a ring with the two of you.
Serenity Scorpio: Until that day comes, we wish you both good fortune during your reign.
(Jessica and Santana look at each other for a moment. Both women look at Dynamic Duo with caution as Serenity and Jocelyn put out their hands out. After some consideration, both women shook their hands. Just before Dynamic Duo walks away, Celes Dumont & Io Ishimori walk into view with smirks on their faces.)
Celes Dumont: Don’t mind us. We’ll just be watching from afar.
Io Ishimori: For now…
(Both women give one last sneer before walking away, leaving both tag teams confused.)
Main Event - Singles Match
Tori de Vil vs Sidney Knight
The match started off with a small amount of trash talk between the two women. Tori tries to attack Sidney who evades and takes her down with an arm drag. As Tori gets to her feet, Sidney hits the ropes and connects with a falling dropkick! She follows this up with a seated shoulder lock in an attempt to weaken Sid’s upper body. When Tori tries to fight out of it, Sid releases the hold and connects with enzuigiri! Tori almost fell by the wayside, but Sidney grabs her arm and whips her to the corner. The impact left de Vil stunned but had enough fight in her to recover and dodge Knight’s corner flying clothesline. She capitalizes with several stiff forearms, but Sidney gouges her eyes and takes her arm for a running springboard arm drag! Dizzy, Tori didn’t see a shining wizard coming from out of nowhere! Sid goes for the pin, but Tori kicks out at two! An angry Knight wanted to argue with the ref but instead opted for throwing Tori outside of the ring.
Melissa Flash: After betraying her partner Jessica Rose, we’ve seen Sidney Knight go on quite the mean streak!
Kat Ricci: A woman likes her thinks in order to advance in this business she needs to betray her friends.
Melissa Flash: Be that as it may, Knight has the upper hand in this match. She slid to the outside of the ring- wait! Tori is back in the ring! Sid follows suit- BITTERSWEET KICK! Sid’s knocked out cold from the roundhouse kick! One! Two! Sid kicks out!
The crowd was as shocked as Tori was by Sidney’s kick out! As de Vil contemplated another plan, Sid rolled out to the apron, holding her face. Tori tried to pull her up by the hair, but Sidney fought with a shoulder thrust through the ropes. Tori was forced to back off as Sidney gets back into the ring and starts wailing on her opponent with ruthless aggression. She whips Tori to the ropes who counters with a spear on the rebound! She hits the ropes and just before she lands a running leg drop, Sidney jumps to her feet and hits a Bittersweet Downfall (Discus clothesline). Knight makes another cover, but Tori kicks out at 2-and-a-half. An angry Sidney screams at the ref while attempting a full nelson. Tori does her best to fight out of the hold, but once she breaks free, Knight stays on her with overhand shots to the back. Tori starts fighting back, but she whipped to the ropes. She holds onto the ropes to avoid the body drop attempts and delivers a kick to the face in response...followed by Dreambreaker (Facebuster)! She goes for the pin and secures the victory!
Winner: Tori de Vil
Segment
(When we come back from commercial, the camera opens to LAW GM Madam Vega standing in the ring with Kayla Winters, Roni de Vil, and Sweet Roxy. All three women were each standing in a corner of the ring, with Vega in the middle.)
Madam Vega: I was going to do this in private, but it affects the future of the Lethal Angel Championship scene, along with the main event of LAW’s Las Vegas anniversary show, Sin City. Now ever since this year’s Homecoming, the three of you have crossed paths in one way or another. From what I understand, Sweet Roxy feels betrayed by Kayla Winters once she won the LAW Championship, so you jeopardized Kayla’s chances for victory at Trifecta, which impacted LAW as a whole. Is this correct?
Sweet Roxy: (nods) Kayla Winters is a fraud who doesn’t deserve to be champion. She couldn’t even beat Natalie Cage or Midori Miyamoto! I for one have held the OWA Women’s World Championship before! I’m one half of their tag team champions! I’ve held titles in places like WWH! If there’s anyone who should be the face of LAW, it’s me!
(Kayla rolled her eyes)
Kayla Winters: I have better places to be, rather than here with you, Madam Vega, and these two Idiots.
Roni de Vil: Try saying that again...but a little closer…
(Roni cracked her knuckles)
Madam Vega: Hold your horses there, Roni. I know you have yet to have the rematch you were granted based on your title win over Daisy Thrash. And as long as these two are at each other’s throats, it’s going to stay that way. So I’ve come up with a...suitable distraction.
Kayla Winters: Whatever, sign a triple match for the pay per view so I can beat these two and go about the rest of my life knowing that I’m better than either of them.
(A smile curled up on Sweet Roxy’s face, but it soon dissipated when Vega had one of her own.)
Madam Vega: It’s hard to focus when there’s more competition at the table…
(With a snap of her fingers, "Message To God" by Royal Hunt plays as former Lethal Specialist Champion, April Song walks out with a look of determination on her face. The crowd gets off their feet and cheer the Killer Bee as she makes her way to the ring.)
Melissa Flash: April Song!? What role is she going to play in this scenario! Look at the faces of the three women in the ring! They know that Madam Vega has something up her sleeve!
Kat Ricci: After a fantastic reign with the Specialist Championship, I’m not surprised that April Song is being given a chance to expand her horizons. If there’s anyone that deserves a shot at the Lethal Angel Championship. It’s her.
(April Song climbs into the ring and shakes hands with Madam Vega before walking backwards towards a vacant corner. Roni and Kayla give an irritated glance at the general manager while Sweet Roxy was fuming.)
Madam Vega: Thank you for coming out tonight, Ms. Song. I know you’re still disappointed from your loss to Revy, but now you’re moving on to bigger things: a chance at being the face of LAW. That’s right ladies, The Professional will be the fourth competitor in this match.
Kayla Winters: I don’t care if it’s Roni, Roxy, or April! I’m the most dominant women’s wrestler in this business! You can send whoever you want! Bring an army for all I care! When I win, neither Roni, April, or Roxy gets another title shot while I'm LAW Champion!
(Madam Vega nods several times.)
Madam Vega: Fair enough. But if I were you, I’d hold on to that statement for a little longer?
Kayla Winters: Why?
(With another snap of her fingers, “Lydia” by Highly Suspect plays as a very familiar and legendary face appears from the back…)
Melissa & Kat: WHAT!?
(The fans are on their feet as five-time JET World Champion Nina Sanada stands on the stage, surveying the crowd. All four women in the ring are left with their mouths hung wide open. Nina casually makes way down the ramp, eyeing each and every woman standing in the ring.)
Kat Ricci: Nina Sanada’s here!? THE NINA SANADA!? I THOUGHT SHE RETIRED!
Melissa Flash: The Queen of Lucharesu herself. One of the women who trained the likes of Stephanie Matsuda, Azumi Goto, and Kagetsu - all former JET Champions in their own right! Their heir to Gran Sanada’s Lucharesu style! Lucha libre and puroresu royalty is here in our backyard Kat!
(Nina casually enters the ring, eyeing Kayla Winters with the LAW Championship over her shoulder. She casually shakes hands with Madam Vega, and eyes the rest of her opponents. Shaking her head, a slightly nervous Kayla finally spoke as the music died down.)
Kayla Winter: Nina Sanada!? Nina Sanada’s going to be in this match!? I thought this old crow has retired!?
(Madam Vega glances at Nina who laughed and shrugged in response. Vega turned her attention to Kayla.)
Madam Vega: In Japan, yes. But Ms. Sanada is a restless woman with a hungry heart so I made her an offer she couldn’t refuse - along with a guaranteed shot at the Lethal Angel Championship. You see Kayla, April and Nina aren’t not just here because they deserve to. They’re also my insurance policy to guarantee that there’s a legit ending to this match. This five-way...Championship Scramble Match.
(The crowd goes nuts as Kayla’s eyes widen in shock. Roni turns away upset, while Roxy is pulling at her hair.)
Madam Vega: Two women enter...followed by three more. For an allotted amount of time, it’ll be a cruel game of hot potato with the Lethal Angel Championship. With each victory the belt changes hands to an interim champion. Whoever is left holding the title will be the Lethal Angel Champion, while the losers will not be granted another title match for the rest of the season through “traditional” means. This will be happening in four weeks at Sin City in Las Vegas!
(The crowd goes nuts once again while chanting “yes!” repeatedly. Kayla steps out of the corner and begins to leave the ring.)
Kayla Winters: (glares) Are we done here!?
Madam Vega: Well, there will be a tag team match with Ms. Sanada as the special guest ref next episode, but other than that...yeah, I think we are done.
Kayla Winters: Hmph. I'll see you losers in two weeks.
(Kayla climbs out of the ring as “Money” by Pink Floyd started playing. The other four women looked on at Kayla who walked up the ramp with her title held high.)
Melissa Flash: A Championship Scramble Match!? This must be the first in LAW history!
Kat Ricci: Well Sin City is about expecting the unexpected, so here we are! This will be Kayla’s toughest challenge yet!
Melissa Flash: Well she’s held the belt this far so I doubt she’s willing to let go any time soon!
(The last shot is Kayla walking to the back while the rest of the women stand in the ring, looking at one another as the camera fades.)
LAW & IJWF logos buzz.
