Episode 21: Dynamic Homecoming
(COLD OPEN. The camera opens to the interior of the LAW Arena. General Manager Madam Vega was already standing in the center of the ring, alongside announcer London Morris.)
Madam Vega: Welcome ladies and gentlemen to a special edition of Monday Night LAW. We are two weeks post a fantastic Lethal Takeover and during that time news has slipped out of the Ava Sisters selling their piece of LAW to an unknown buyer. I’m out here to confirm those rumors are in fact true.
(Madam Vega pauses for a moment as the audience reacts in a mix of confusion and disappointment at the news.)
Madam Vega: Alas, the identity of LAW’s new majority owner will be revealed in two weeks before our next marquee event and the first LAW event of the season - HOMECOMING!
(The fans cheer at the news of another Homecoming happening this season.)
Madam Vega: I will say this about the identity of the new owner - they are someone with close ties to the company and understands the direction that I and the minor owners want to take this brand. Now, at Homecoming it’s all hands on deck! Every active member of the LAW roster will be present and every title will be defended! Which means there are three titles already planned for the show. The opponents for each champion are still in consideration. As for the fourth match, we will hold the first annual Sadie Hawkins, Battle Royal! What that means is that every other competitor not included in the three title matches will be paired up with a preferred partner in a tag team battle royal match! This means that when one competitor is eliminated, so is her partner! The last team standing will get a title shot at a later date!
(The fans cheer at this revelation)
Madam Vega: This is just one of many changes that will be taking place this season! Once again, thank you for your support and enjoy the show!
Melissa Flash: What a set of announcements from Madam Vega! As we already have known Kat, we have a new majority owner who will be revealed next episode!
Kat Ricci: On top of that, we have a new annual match for Homecoming! The Sadie Hawkins Battle Royal!
Melissa Flash: Interesting name choice for the match. Traditionally, a Sadie Hawkins dance is a school dance where the girls invite the boys. But it’s 2019 so screw traditional norms!
Kat Ricci: And all three belts will be defended at Homecoming! I’m curious who will be challenging April Song, the Sakarabas, and Roni de Vil!
Melissa Flash: That was some announcement from the Madam wasn't??
Kat Ricci: You have no idea but it looks like we're already up for our first match of the night as the team of Jessica Hendrix and "Big Sexy" Santana attempt to give their team up another try against Videl Rose and Agatha Mareslinna.
Tag Team Match: Jessica Hendrix & "Big Sexy" Santana vs Videl Rose & Agatha Marselinna
(The two teams are in the ring with Jessica starting for her team as Agatha does the same with their respective partners going to the outside as the bell then rings as both of the women in the ring quickly get into a head and shoulder lock up before Agatha uses her slight height advantage to push Jessica away but as she turns to try and do something with a rebound off of the ropes, she is suddenly met there with a knee to the stomach that flips the Indonesian woman over onto her face as Jessica quickly moves in with an elbow drop onto the small of Agatha's back which she then follows up with a Fujiwara armbar attempt but Agatha is quickly able to swing her body around and hook the ropes with her left foot, causing the ref to call for the break)
Kat Ricci: Some impressive moves out of the gate by Jessica as she attempts to get a quick submission victory for her team right out of the gate, huh Melissa?
Melissa Flash: Agreed but now it looks liKE Agatha is the one of the offensive as she quickly gets couple of hard slaps in followed by a Jawbreaker as she rolls over Jessica's prone body to catch her Jessica with a roundhouse kick as the other woman tries to rise, Kat!!
(Agatha has a look of total confidence on her face as she waits for Jessica to turn around but instead Jessica catches the movement out of the corner of one eye and she ducks an attempt by Agatha to hit her "Ambivalent" superkick finish only for Jessica to quickly move out of the way and dive for a tag to Santana who quickly gets into the ring and bowls over Agatha with a full on power charge based shoulder block that drives Agatha hard into the turnbuckle next to Videl who quickly tags herself in)
Melissa Flash: I think that even the fun-loving Santana is taking this match a little bit more seriously with that kind of power move.
Kat Ricci: No kidding, I think she’s chosen not to play around tonight as Videl tries to get her part as catches Videl coming into the ring with a sharp left hook, followed by a crushing right hook, then another left, another right, another left, another right…
(The crowds are starting to chant “BAM” with every single blow that Santana lands on Videl as it staggers the shorter blonde woman slowly back into the corner at which point Agatha attempts to get in to help her partner but she gets a right followed by Videl with a left!!)
Fans: BAM...BAM...BAM...BAM...BAM...BAM...BAM!!!
Melissa Flash: Santana really paying homage to her boxing background here tonight as she is literally raining blow upon blow onto both halves of her opponents here tonight!!
Kat Ricci: and it seems like Frankie is yelling at something to Santana who only nods in return before she hits a couple of rapid fire jabs into Agatha which knocks her out of the ring before the former Foxy Boxer does a little bit of a sexy dance that she quickly shifts into a proper boxers shuffle before she lands a very sharp right hook right into Videl’s temple that drives her to the mat!!
Melissa Flash: Santana isn’t going for the pin but instead she quickly pulls Videl up and slings her over a shoulder and then quickly hits a ROLLING SAMOAN DROP!!!
(Santana quickly moves to tag Jessica back in at which point Jessica gets a wicked smile on her face and hits a slingshot moonsault onto Videl before rolling her up for the pin!!)
ONE...TTWWOO...TTTHHHRRREEEEEE!!!!
*DING DING*
London Morris: The winners of your match, the team of JESSICA HENDRIX AND “BIG SEXY” SANTANA!!!
("Neon" by Jeff Williams and Casey Lee Williams starts playing as Agatha slowly starts to rise on the outside of the ring where she fell as Santana and Frankie start to do their post match celebration dance while attempting to encourage Jessica to do the same which she resists for only a second or two before she finally relents and starts dancing with them)
(COMMERCIAL BREAK - Watch the LAW/JET Alliance’s annual show Lethal Takeover, only on The Alliance Network!)
London Morris: Please welcome back to Monday Night LAW, Serenity Scorpio and Jocelyn Sky...The Dynamic Duo!
(“Kites” by NERD plays as Serenity and Jocelyn walk out to a standing ovation. They both smile and wave at the crowd as they make their way to the ring.)
Melissa Flash: After months of traveling around the world, two of modern-day LAW’s day ones have returned! Two of the War Room Dojo’s finest!
Kat Ricci: Serenity spent some time in Japan and traveling with OWA while Jocelyn was mainly fulfilling dates on the east coast. They recently signed a deal with World Wrestling Headquarters on their Dystopia Brand. This would mean they will be on the west coast more often, giving them a chance to appear in the LAW Arena. Welcome back, ladies!
(Serenity and Jocelyn each take a mic before climbing into the ring. They wait for the crowd to die down a little before addressing the audience.)
Serenity Scorpio: Thank you, thank you! We are ecstatic to be back here in the LAW Arena!
(The crowd cheers in response)
Jocelyn Sky: As most of you may have known, Serenity and I did a bit of traveling on our own. We wanted to develop our skills before coming back as a team. Well, here we are!
(crowd cheers)
Serenity Scorpio: We don’t know who’s next in line for the Lethal Tag Team Championships, but Madam Vega please do keep us in mind. You know where to find us.
(Serenity drops the mic and both girls rolls out of the ring. As “Kites” play)
Melissa Flash: Dynamic Duo is back and they’re out for gold! I wonder what Madam Vega has to say to that?
Kat Ricci: Maybe she already has them in mind for the title match. Hopefully, we find out soon!
Singles Match: Evelyn Bennett vs Olga Petrov
Kat Ricci: This match is underway as Evelyn Bennett goes for the grapple. But Olga ducks out the way and manages to get in a jab to the side of the head. Bennett goes for another hold, but Olga with ducks once mores, and this time a kick connects. Olga with multiple strikes as she backs into Evelyn into the corner. Referee pulls Petrov off, huge grin on her face as Evelyn wiping the blood on her lips. Olga landing a couple of good hits now, making full use of those mma strikes. Bennett charges out of the corner, Olga ducks again and goes for another right, but Bennett blocks this time, and manages to wrap her arms around her neck, hurling her into the corner. Evelyn with knee strikes to the guts, and now the corner enziguri connects!
Melissa Flash: Olga taking that swift kick to the face, but simply cracks her jaw. Petrov charges, but Evelyn catches her over her shoulders, and she drops her with the Samoa Drop! But Olga takes the opportunity to connect the knees to the head, and grabs a hold of Evelyn by the wrist, she locks in that armbar, trying to pry that arm off of the socket. Petrov screaming for Bennett to tap, but Bennett manages to get back to her feet. Petrov still hanging on, and Evelyn scoops her on their how shoulder! She positions her, and throws her accross the ring with the fallaway slam! Bennett wasting little time and the senton splash connects! Bennett covers!! 2 count as Petrov kicks out!
Kat Ricci: Evelyn making her way up the the top ropes now. Bennett locking to fly now as she goes for the Muscle Splash!... But no body home as Petrov rolls out of the way. Evelyn rising back up, but Olga quick to knocker her back down with the Russian Leg Sweep! Olga mounts her and unleahes a flurry a blows to the head now. Petrov stalking Evelyn now, and the Russian Amazon goes for the body slam!! Look at the power as she lifts her over the shoulder!! But she todder! Bennett shifts her weight!! AND EVELYN WITH A DEVASATING URANAGE!! Benett calls for the finish! She grabs Olga by the hair now, an irish whip to the ropes as she rebounds! She goes for Eve's Wild Ride!! But the Reverse Spin Scoop Power Slam is reversed into a crucifix pin, SHOULDERS DOWN!! No, Petrov goes for the Kimura Lock!! Olga turning Eve on her belly now, and Petrov with multple knee strikes to the head while locking in the hold! The bell rings, the match is over!
Melissa Flash:The official is attempting to pull Olga Petrov off now who continues to twist the arm and knees Bennett in the skull. Other officials stepping in now, and Olga finally lets go. Evelyn is bleeding from the nose and eye now as we get a better look.
London Morris: Due to a competitor being unable to continue per referee, it has been decided that the winner of the match, Olga Petrov
Kat Ricci: Olga with her arms raised in the air as medics come out to check and perform the test on Evelyn. Bennett putting up a fight with the officials that she could had still fight, but her face tells another story. Olga celebrating an impressive win, showing how lethal her strikes are, as Evelyn is arguing with the referee. I don't honestly know if she could had gotten out of that situation or not, but I think the ref made the right call.
Melissa Flash: I mean, but she clearly has some fight left in her. But let the LAW locker room go on notice. The Russian Amazon is here and surprisingly resourceful and durable in the ring, taking a couple of big throws as a means to get her opponents close enough for strikes. I can't say we saw a lot of wrestling from her, but those mma techiniques might be enough.
Kat Ricci: Bennett, clearly not happy with what has just happened. Even with a busted nose, and bleeding from the eye, she wants to settle this in the wrestling ring. Only time will tell when she gets another shot.
Backstage
(The picture shifts to the backstage area. April Song, still rather heavily bandaged up after her deathmatch title defense, is just finishing up a meet and greet session with some fans as she shakes her head and winces, somewhat annoyed by the person who is coming to see her.)
April Song: Oh God...anyone but her….
(Revy appears on the screen with a beaming smile on her face, carrying in tow an ice pail full of beer in one hand and a bag full of Donald Trump “Make America Great Again” paraphernalia including hats, bumper stickers and campaign buttons.)
Revy: Heeeyyy...How are you, champ? I saw that match you had in Japan. I had no idea that you could actually be that badass! I thought you hated deathmatches.
April Song: I do, actually. Uh, why exactly are you here again?
(The smile on Revy’s face takes on a significantly more sinister and sarcastic tone, a change that April makes note of mentally but says nothing.)
Revy: Oh, come on. I know you’re a little goofy but you’re not dumb. Anyway, I do want to congratulate you on your successful title defense and I’ve even brought a little present for ya. See? I know you like the cold beer, Budweiser is good, right? And I brought you some MAGA gear! It’s never too early to get that campaign going for 2020!
(April reluctantly accepts one of the beers, pushing the MAGA gift back to a far end of the table.)
April Song: Yeah, sure. Thank you.
Revy: So (taking a seat next to April and opening a beer herself) You remember when we were in that other federation right? I spent a lot of time chasing one of your pals for a belt just like that lovely one you got right there. I got thiiiiiiiiiiiis close to winning it in a Texas Bullrope match.
April Song: Yeah I remember.
Revy: And you also remember the last time we had a one on one over there I got you pretty good with my Recoil...Hey, don’t look at me like that! I gotta take all the good wins I could get over there.
April Song: Are you asking me for a championship match? And bribing me with beer?
Revy: Yes and yes. Is it working?
April Song: You know I haven’t exactly been turning people away. So if you want next in line I’m certainly not going to stand in your way. Besides….I’ve been waiting a LONG ass time to pay you back for that loss. Nobody’s really stepped up to face me for Homecoming, maybe we could do it then if we get the go ahead.
Revy: Awesome! I guess all we have to do then is make sure all the paperwork is done! Man, that is a pretty belt. (reaches out to touch over the front plate of the Specialists Championship) It’s gonna look awesome around my waist.
April Song: (Slowly pulling it out of her reach) It will look good there, someday. But not any time soon. I promised to elevate this title as I make my way to the top, that hasn’t changed. I don’t mind facing you but you’re not picking on the same April that you beat over “There”. Just so you know. Thanks for the beer by the way.
(The two stare each other down as Revy finishes gulping her beer down.)
Revy: You’re welcome. And I’m looking forward to relieving you of that pretty belt.
(Revy reaches out and intentionally gives April’s banged up shoulder a “friendly pat”, the champion wincing slightly before staring Revy down.)
Revy: Oh, right….you’re still sore. My bad. See you soon?
(Revy gets up from her seat and takes her leave, leaving April sitting alone with the remaining beer and her championship.)
April Song: Well, they’re not gonna finish themselves, are they?
Tag Team Match: The Sakaraba Sisters (Yuki and Rina Sakaraba) vs Cassidy Vega & Kiki Kumiko
Before the match begins, the four competitors all shake hands but there is an extra bit of fire from Kiki as she stares down both of the Sakuraba sisters. Rina takes exception to it especially but cooler heads prevail as their partners hold them back and agree to start the match between them. Yuki and Cassidy start off with a collar and elbow tie up, which Cassidy gets the best of, forcing Yuki into a neutral corner. Even though Yuki is hopeful for a clean break, Cassidy manages to land a knee strike and a few knife edge chops before snapmaring one half of the tag team champions down and landing a hard shoot kick to the back! After a quick running leg drop she tags in her partner Kiki who scores with a vicious Mafia Kick! Kiki drops down for a cover attempt but Yuki manages to kick out.
Mellisa Flash: The two best friends have learned a bit from their previous encounter with the Sakuraba Sisters and are really taking the fight to them tonight!
Kat Ricci: Absolutely, imagine if they pull off the upset here, they could see themselves square into the mix for the LAW Tag Titles!
Kat Ricci: Absolutely, imagine if they pull off the upset here, they could see themselves square into the mix for the LAW Tag Titles!
Kiki manages to lock in a sleeper on Yuki, and Rina starts pounding on the turnbuckle, urging the crowd to get behind her sister as she herself shouts encouragement to get the tag. Yuki fades but is able to counter with a Saito Suplex, breaking the hold and leaving both Cassidy and Rina to wait on a tag from their respective partners. Yuki and Kiki make their tags simultaneously and Cassidy and Rina race to the center of the ring to begin a fierce exchange of forearm strikes that Rina gets the better of, forcing Cassidy against the ropes before nailing her with Apollo 11 (Fireman’s Carry into Roundhouse kick). Rina goes for a cover but Kiki comes in for the save before being met by Yuki. The two brawl to the floor leaving the two legal women in the ring. Cassidy manages to score a pair of pin attempts including a clever O’Connor Roll but Rina kicks out of both. As Cassidy tries to hit a Shining Wizard, Rina counters with a thunderous lariat, forcing Cassidy’s body into a vicious looking flip.
Melissa Flash: Kiki sees that her partner is in trouble, but Yuki has her locked in a standing crossface chicken wing, she may not be able to get in there in time!
Kat Ricci: Meanwhile in the ring, as this crowd is on their feet cheering, Rina is pacing, just waiting for Cassidy to get to her feet..
Rina goes for Enter the Dragon once but Cassidy is able to escape it, countering with a wild flurry of elbow strikes to Rina’s face. She tries a roundhouse kick but Rina ducks and lands a vicious kick to Cassidy’s head. Kiki manages to break free of the chicken wing of Yuki, but not in time to save her partner from falling victim to Enter the Dragon (Bridging Dragon Suplex) as the Sakuraba Sisters pick up yet another victory.
Backstage
(Kayla Winters is seen playing with her phone in the locker room when Sweet Roxy walks up to her. Roxy stands close by for a couple of moments, too nervous to say anything.)
Sweet Roxy: Hey...
(Kayla looks up, her face expression less.)
Kayla Winters: Oh look who's alive.
Sweet Roxy: Listen...I'm not that good with apologies, but you can understand why I walked out after we (gulp) lost to the Sakatwits at Lethal Takeover, right?
(Kayla turns back to her phone.)
Kayla Winters: No explanation needed. I understand...
(Kayla sighs and stands up)
Kayla Winters: Maybe it's time for us to end our little arrangement.
(Roxy shakes her head)
Sweet Roxy: I have a better idea. What if we turned our attention elsewhere?
Kayla Winters: Another promotion?
Sweet Roxy: Nah. Hear me out...
(Roxy gestures for Kayla to follow her as they leave the locker room)
Main Event
Singles Match: Roni de Vil vs Jessica Rose
Once the bell rings both women meet in the center of the ring, gauging each other’s defense. Jessica attempts to provoke Roni with several kicks, but the champ doesn’t budge. Jessica offers a test of strength but Roni responds with a kick to the gut. She whips Rose to the ropes, who leapfrogs over de Vil and rebounds. Roni drops down to the mat, forcing Jessica to hop over her and catches her opponent in Hurricanrana twisted into a victory roll! Rose kicks out at one and gets to her feet. Roni’s already on her, delivering shot after shot to the face. She backs Jessica into a corner, delivering kick after kick to the ribs. Rose tries to block the onslaught of strikes, but fails to do so and falls into the seated position. Roni follows this up with a running face wash and pulls her out of the corner for a pin. Jessica kicks out at one and a half, but Roni remains focused. She applies a butterfly lock to weaken Jessica who manages to fight out of the hold. Both women are on their feet with Rose ducking a roundhouse kick. She counters with a leg lariat, creating some much needed time to recover from her opponent’s offense.
Melissa Flash: Jessica Rose is fighting back! Roni had her number earlier in the match, but The Sugar Girl is hanging in there!
Kat Ricci: A win tonight could open a lot of doors for Rose. But the fight isn’t over yet!
Rose hits the ropes and lands a beautiful running Shooting Star Press. She makes a cover, but Roni easily kicks out. Jessica gets to her feet and charges forward! Roni sidesteps and throws her throw the ropes! Jessica hangs on and pulls herself up to the apron. Roni lands a running dropkick, knocking Jessica off the apron. Rose hits the mat and gets to her feet only to see Roni meeting her head on via suicide dive! Both women hit the ground as the referee begins the count. As both women slowly get to their feet, Sweet Roxy and Kayla Winters make their way out to the ring. Roni whips Jessica into the steel steps and approaches Sweet Winters. As the ref continues the count out, Roni starts pointing to the back, telling the team to leave ringside, or else. Meanwhile, Jessica rolls back into the ring. After several moments of refusal, Sweet Winters finally budges and starts backing away from Roni. The champ rolls back into the ring only to find-
Melissa Flash: WRECKING BURST! JESSICA ROSE JUST HIT HER SIGNATURE FIREMAN’S CARRY OVERHEAD KICK!!! SHE’S GOING FOR THE PIN!!!
Crowd/Ref: OOOOOONNNNEEEEEEEEE!!! TWWWWWOOOOO!!! THREEEEE!!!!
Kat Ricci: Roni kicks out, but it’s too late!
(Ding! Ding! Ding!)
London Morris: Your winner by pinfall, JESSICA ROSE!
Melissa Flash: Roni’s in disbelief! She’s too stunned to move, but you can see the frustration on her face!
Kat Ricci: Jessica Rose is ecstatic! She just pinned the LAW Champion!
Melissa Flash: With help from Sweet Winters! Roni found herself distracting and just gave Jessica Rose the biggest win of career!
Kat Ricci: de Vil does not look happy right now! She’s looking around for Sweet Winters, but they already left! I bet she’ll have some choice words or acts for them on the next LAW! Goodnight everybody!
(The last camera shot shows Roni de Vil standing outside of the ring, glaring towards backstage, pondering her next move. Meanwhile, Jessica Rose is celebrating in the ring behind her as "Don't Die Digging" by Graduate plays in the background)
(LAW and IJWF logos appear)
