Episode 35: Season Three Premiere!
(COLD OPEN)
The camera opens to LAW announcer London Morris standing in the center of the ring.
London Morris: Please welcome, LAW General Manager Madam Vega, and LAW President Marilyn Bellamy!
(“Cherry Bomb” by The Runaways play as Madam Vega and Marilyn Bailey walkout, waving at the limited audience. They slowly make their way to the ring as they take in the new atmosphere for the first time. Both women seem to be satisfied with the setup and nod to each other before climbing into the ring.)
Melissa Flash: The powers that be of LAW are here to make a special announcement regarding the third season!
Kat Ricci: The extended break we’ve taken has allowed the president and general manager to look over the status of this company and see where we’re headed next. I was told that we have some exciting things coming up!
(Madam Vega took the mic from London and turned her attention to the audience with Marilyn Bellamy standing next to her.)
Madam Vega: Welcome to the first episode of the LAW Season 3! Marilyn and I want to thank everyone for their support during these tough times, which unfortunately delayed our production. We’re forced to make certain changes, but alas we’re still motivated to give you the best in women’s wrestling! Here’s our esteemed President to tell us what we have in store for you in the coming weeks…
(Madam Vega handed the mic over to Marilyn who nodded in appreciation.)
Marilyn Bellamy: Thank you, Vega, and thank YOU to everyone who made it out tonight and are watching at home. It’s been a trying couple of months, but I’m happy to say that we’re back in operation! We had to shift some things around to show the world we’re back stronger than ever, I would like to announce our first special event of the season: Americana! This will be a two-week special event in September. The significance of this show is that there will be an eight-woman tournament to decide who will be our inaugural winner...for our NEW championship!
(Marilyn smiles as she watches the crowd cheer in response.)
Marilyn Bellamy: In the previous incarnation of LAW we had the Lethal Angel, Lethal Tag Team, and later the Lethal American Championships to round out the promotion’s trifecta of titles. As the inaugural champion of the Lethal American Championship, I am proud to say that we are bringing it back, albeit under a different set of circumstances. Unlike its sister title, The Specialist Championship, this new Lethal American Championship will always be contested under traditional singles rules, with a thirty-minute time limit. This division will show off the best grapplers our promotion has to offer while the Specialist Division will continue to display our more resourceful talents. The tournament will be held under the same rules minus the time-limit. There MUST be a winner in every match, and to highlight how serious I am about honoring the legitimacy of good ‘ol American rasslin’ nobody but the competitors and necessary staff will be allowed ringside! If anyone interferes in any tournament match, there will be hefty consequences to pay! And this isn’t coming from the General Manager...but the woman who writes your checks.
(There was a stern look in Marilyn’s eyes as she looked into the camera. After a few moments, her expression relaxed.)
Marilyn Bellamy: The tournament matches will be taking place at the event. Every title will be defended at Americana. More matches will be announced at a later time. Beyond Americana, we have a thrilling season for you. Lethal Takeover will not return this season, but Collision Course will, as well a popular show from our first season...Thunderstruck. There will be no Lethal 500 either this season, but we have something else in mind that I think you all will like. There have been several new signings during the break, some confirmed...others rumored about. Some will be here tonight, others...well you have to wait and see. This will also be one of the few Thursday Night LAW episodes this season due to adjustments regarding the pandemic. Going forward, it will be monthly events unless otherwise stated. Without further ado, we present to you LAW: SEASON 3!
(“Cherry Bomb” plays as Marilyn and Madam Vega spread their arms about for several moments before leaving the ring.)
Melissa Flash: You heard it here first: the return of the Lethal American Championship! We will have a tournament at Americana to decide the inaugural champ, one that will be held across two nights! President Bellamy mentioned that we’ve had several signings over the break well some of them will make an appearance tonight!
Kat Ricci: To start things off we have the debuting Brenda Martin versus Hollywood Fight Club’s own Brina Lee! Let’s get things started!
Brenda Martin vs Brina Lee
(DING DING DING!!!)
As soon as the bell rings Brenda immutably begins laying into Brina with a series of European Uppercuts and Shoot kicks as Brina is doing her best to defend herself. Brenda quickly grabs Brina's head and hits a Snapmare and quickly follows it up with a Sliding Forearm Smash. Brenda goes for a Standing Moonsault and covers.
Deanna Mallory: ONEEEEEEE!!!!
Brina manges to kick out at one and is lifted up by Brenda, who wants to end this quick. Brenda goes for a European Uppercut, but is denied with Brina's Standing Dropkick. Brina seeing Brenda kneeled over takes the opportunity and rolls up Brenda in a La Magistral pin looking for a quick win.
Deanna Mallory: ONEEEEEEE!!!!
Brenda is able to kick out at one. Both Brenda and Brina are on their feet staring at one another. They both realize neither could get a quick victory over the other and soon lock up in a collar-and-elbow tie up. Brina manges to break the tie-up and quickly applies a Headlock and quickly hits a Headlock Takeover. Brina keeps the hold and begins to vice Brenda's head. Brina keeps at it until Brenda manges to elbows her way out of it. Brina waste no time on the raising Brenda and quickly nails a Superkick and quickly follows it up with a Shining Wizard and covers.
Deanna Mallory: ONEEEEEEE!!!! TWOOOOOO!!!!! THREEE---
No. Brenda is able to kick out at the last moment and Brina was sure that would have sealed the win. Both women are staring at each other trying to think of what to do next. Brenda and Brina begin to circle one another fienting the other to see if the other takes the bait. Brenda begins to get closer and begins striking Brina with a series of Shoot kicks, and Brina replies with a series of her own Shoot kicks. The two begins trading kicks, and soon begin trading Forearms and Chops. Kick. Kick. Chop. Forearm. Back and forth until both women are visibly exhausted and begin to lean on one another. Their eyes are dead set on another not wanting to let up and their strikes begin, but not in rapid succession instead they are powerful strikes. Brenda soon has enough and nails The Home-Run Swing onto Brina and follows it up with a Discus Punch. Brina is visibly dazed and Brenda quickly lifts Brina onto her shoulders and applies a Chickenwing. She nails the Babe Ruth Special and covers.
Deanna Mallory: ONEEEEEEE!!!! TWOOOOOO!!!!! THREEE---
No. Brina is able to kick out at the last moment just like Brenda was able to. That was Brenda's Grand Slam, but apparently it was enough to put away Brina. Brenda was sure that would finish Brina and she is visibly angered by this. Brenda grabs Brina by the nip of her hair and begins laying a series of Shoot kicks onto Brina's face, but Brina manges to break it and nails a quick Roundhouse Kick onto Brenda dazzing her for a moment as Brina nails another Superkick. Brina is going for the Shining Wizard again, but is denied as Brenda manges to catch Brina legs and lift her up in a Powerbomb Position. Brenda runs and launches Brina making her hit the top turnbuckle and Brenda follows it up with a Rolling Thunder Flatliner, a combination she calls Curveball. Brenda isn't going for the pin instead, she lifts Brina up and nails The Home-Run Swing and Discus Punch combo and afterwards she lands the Babe Ruth Special.
Deanna Mallory: ONEEEEEEE!!!! TWOOOOOO!!!!! THREEEEEE!!!!!
(DING DING DING!!!!)
"Papercut" by Linkin Park plays as Brenda rolls off of Brina and slowly raises up as her hand is raised by referee Deanna to a roaring crowd reaction. Brenda looks over at Brina and offers a hand to help her up. Brina accepts and looks at each other before Brina makes her way out of the ring and Brenda takes in the crowd a bit before exiting as well.
Melissa Flash: Welcome back to Thursday Night LAW. Right now we have LAW Specialist Champion Kylie Monroe standing in the ring. After what critics are calling the “craziest match they’ve ever seen” Kylie Monroe has defeated Revy in a literal “Scottish Deathmatch!”
Kat Ricci: And by literal, we mean that the match took place in Scotland which had to be one of the greatest pieces of cinema I’ve experienced!
(The camera opens to show Kylie Monroe standing in the ring with the Lethal Specialist Championship.)
Kylie Monroe: Man! Do you know what feels good? Backing up what you say! Practicing what you preach, ya feel me? I’ll admit it - Revy threw everything she could at me but in the end there was no way I was going to let someone beat me on my home turf! She’s one hell of a fighter though, but like others who came before, I sent her packing. Now she’s on OWA’s Odyssey staying far away from the one woman who became her ceiling here on LAW. She couldn’t get past me and quite frankly, I doubt anyone can break through to the other side! As long as I have this title, this ring is the gate and I’m its keeper! At Lethal Hearts 2 I’ve proven that I’m Queen of the Deathmatch - and not just the Scottish ones either! When everything is on the line, I’m the one who steps up! There’s nobody more hardcore than me in that locker room! There’s not a woman backstage who can hold a candle to my light-
(“Superthug” by N.O.R.E. plays as La Llorona comes out in her signature attire, bandanna, and all. She already had a mic in her hand and looked eager to get her point across. Kylie looks surprised as she takes a few steps back in a defensive stance.)
Melissa Flash: La Llorona!? She hasn’t been seen in LAW in almost a year!
Kat Ricci: Well it looks like the OWA Odyssey mainstay has something to say to the champ.
La Llorona: There’s not a woman backstage who can hold a candle to you!? Well, thank God I’m not signed with this place - not yet that is. But when I’m done out here, I’m gonna go straight to Madam Vega’s office and finish signing my contract with the caveat that I get to face whoever I want for my return match...anyone. I was going to go straight to the top and call out Sweet Roxy, but you’ve been talking hella wild for a woman who was that close to getting her ass beat by Revy! But I’m gonna let you in on a little secret...I’m a different animal than the last woman to hold that belt! Because unlike the two of you, I don’t fight in deathmatches every few months...my LIFE was a deathmatch! I had to fight and crawl my way to a place where I can make a suitable living for myself! There’s plenty of women who thought they were the head bitch in charge...women that I’ve put down with my own hands. So now my focus is on you. See you soon.
(“Superthug” plays as Llorona makes her way to the back, leaving Kylie speechless.)
Kat Ricci: Kylie Monroe is absolutely FLOORED! She might have just come face to face with her next opponent!
Melissa Flash: La Llorona is easily one of the most dangerous women currently on the Odyssey roster! Sometimes I away could be time well spent. Hopefully, we get to see just how well soon enough.
Jessy Saxon vs Carla Luna
(DING DING DING!!!)
With the sound of the bell, this match is underway, both Jessy and Carlaa walk begin circling the ring, and soon lock up in a collar-elbow tie-up and immediately Jessy twists Carla arm into a Hammerlock, and has early control of the match. Carla tries her best to get out of it, but Jessy wrenches the arm up and begins to grab at Carla's chin to make a Standing Hammerlock and Chinlock submission combination. Carla is in pain as Jessy begins wrenching both her arm and chin, and can hear demanding Carla to tap out. Carla does manage to break out of the hold when she begins to forcibly stomping on Jessy's feet. Jessy breaks the hold as Carla quickly turns around and begins laying into Jessy with a series of Knife Edge Chops. Carla tries to go for a Exploder Suplex, but Jessy is quick to deny it and begins laying into Carla with a series of her own Elbow Smashes before grabbing the arm of Carla and nailing a Double Knee Armbreaker on Carla's Left Arm. Jessy waste no time in locking in the Das Wunderbar Armbar Ein. Jessy has it locked in tight and is demanding Carla to tap out. Carla is struggling as the move is taking its toll, but she manages to touch the rope with the tip of her boots. Jessy is forced to break the hold.
Carla is slow to her feet, but Jessy has Carla scouted. Jessy begins running towards Carla looking to nail a Basement Dropkick, but Carla dodges it in time sending Jessy flat on her back. Carla lifts Jessy up and tries to go for a Dragon Suplex, but Jessy tries to fight out of it but Carla is able to nail a Release Dragon Suplex. Jessy lands flat on her face, but Carla isn't wasting any time as she applies a waistlock and lift Jessy nailing her with a German Suplex, but she isn't done just yet. She hits another and another and another. Carla has nailed Jessy with four Rolling German Suplexes with the final in a bridge.
Deanna Mallory: ONEEEEEEE!!!! TWOOOO!!!! THREE---
No! Jessy manges to kick out at the very last moment and Carla is in awe by this. Carla is looking at Jessy trying to think of her next move as Jessy is slow to raise up. Carla quickly applies a Pumphandle and lands a Pumphandle Uranage onto Jessy, and quickly covers.
Deanna Mallory: ONEEEEEEE!!!! TWOOOO!!!! THREE---
No! Jessy kicks out again at the very last moment. The crowd and Carla are stunned by this. Carla is just staring at Jessy, who is slowly getting up, and lets out a smirk before yelling at Carla "Is that all you got?" Carla begins laying into Jessy with another series of Knife Edge Chops and Jessy replies with a series of Elbows Smashes of her own. Chop. Elbow. Chop. Elbow. Finally, Jessy lands a legsweep causing Carla to land on her back and Jessy follows it up with a Standing Elbow Drop and goes for the cover.
Deanna Mallory: ONEEEEEEE!!!!
Carla kicks out almost immediately. Jessy isn't phased by this begins to stomp on Carla's arm causing Deanna to break it and make Jessy move away. Jessy compiles as Carla is raising up grabbing her left arm. Jessy begins to taunt and mock Carla by grabbing her right arm and begins to act like it is injured. Carla is agitated by this and begins charging towards Jessy, but Jessy manges to move away. Jessy turns around, but is meet with Carla springboarding and hitting Jessy with a Springboard Push Kick. Jessy is stunned and Carla waste no time in applying a Hammerlock and quickly hitting a Hammerlocked Inverted DDT. Carla isn't wasting no time as she quickly lifts Jessy up and lands a hard landing Exploder Suplex onto Jessy. Jessy is laying in a prone position, and Carla quickly applies a Seated Fujiwara Armbar. Carla is differently sending a message to Jessy. Jessy is struggling as Carla is wrenching the arm back and demanding Jessy to tap just as Jessy did to her. Jessy is struggling as Carla is still wrenching the arm back, but Jessy manges to get near the ropes and barely gets her foot on the rope causing the break. Carla is sure she has done enough damage to Jessy, but is taking no chances. She hits the ropes, but is meet by Jessy, who quickly goes for a Tilt-A-Whirl Headscissors Takedown into a Single Arm DDT and is floated into a Seated Fujiwara Armbar of her own. Jessy has the Das Wunderbar Armbar Zwei locked in tight, and Carla is forced to tap.
(DING DING DING!!!!)
"Gasoline" by Halsey plays as Jessy lets go of the hold and has her hand raised by referee Deanna to a mixed crowd. Carla is clenching her left arm as the damage has been done, and Jessy looks over at Carla lets out a smirk as she begins to leave the ring. Carla slowly gets up, looks around the crowd, and slowly makes her way out of the ring still clenching her left arm.
Roni de Vil came out to the ring to address the audience about her loss at Lethal Heats II against Sweet Roxy. She apologized about not being able to fulfill her promise and decides that it’s time for a change. She calls out her sister Tori de Vil, who seems very surprised by this gesture. When Tori enters the ring, Roni announces that she will be teaming up with her sister in pursuit of the Lethal Tag Team Championships. She was interrupted by Io Ishimori and Celeste Dumont who claimed the sisters have no claim towards their titles and that the upcoming match will decide who challenges them for the tag belts at Americana. Roni laughs and says they will be competing for the number one contender’s spot at the event against RAVE, Inc. Io and Celeste smile and make their way to the commentator desk as the De Vil Sisters leave the ring, eyeing their competition.
The Sakaraba Sisters (Yuki & Rina Sakaraba) vs Dynamic Duo (Serenity Scorpio & Jocelyn Sky) w/ Celeste Dumont & Io Ishimori on commentary
The match starts off with Yuki and Serenity representing their respective teams. After a lock-up, Yuki takes down Serenity with a snapmare, and applies an armbar. Serenity rolls through, hits the ropes, but gets taken down by a running front dropkick to the chest. Yuki attempts the cover, but Serenity kicks out. Yuki goes for a DDT, but Serenity slips out and counters with a rolling elbow. Just before Yuki falls she cashes her and throws her back into a bridging German suplex! Yuki kicks out at one, but Serenity isn’t finished as she scrambles to her feet and whips Yuki to the corner. She goes for the Serenity Splash (Handspring Stinger Splash) but misses, slamming into the corner. Yuki tags in Rina and the two hit repeating corner running elbows until Serenity is knocked into a seated position. Rina, now legal, pulls her out from the corner and hits a belly to belly suplex. She took her time working on Serenity by working on her legs with a Boston Crab. Serenity strains and pulls herself to the corner and grabs the rope. Rina lets go off the hold before the five count. Rina tries attacking her, but Serenity counters with a back body drop to the outside.
Melissa Flash: Rina just took a nasty fall to the outside! Serenity makes the tag to Jocelyn!
Kat Ricci: Sky jumps into the ring and hits the ropes! SUICIDE DIVE!
Celeste Dumont: Rina better shake out of it. The Duo looks hungry.
Io Ishimori: But they’ll fall all the same.
Jocelyn eagerly rolls Rina back into the ring and goes for a pin, but Rina kicks out at two! Jocelyn decides to slow things down by wearing down her opponent’s shoulder. Rina tries to slip out, but Jocelyn tosses her across the ring with a hip toss. As Rina gets to her feet, Jocelyn rushes forward and nails a running Frankensteiner! She picks up Ria who reverses the whip into the corner and counters with a corner running yakuza kick. She pulls Sky out with a sleeper hold, but Jocelyn counters with a snapmare and nails a basement dropkick to the back of a seated Rina. She goes out to the apron and goes for Go to Heaven (Springboard Forearm Smash) but Rina catches her over her shoulders and hits Apollo 11 (Fireman's Carry into Roundhouse kick)! She climbs to the top and hits Maximum The Splash (Stretch Out Frog Splash! As the ref begins the count, Yuki stops Serenity’s pin break with a Super Galactic Collider (Lariat)!! The ref counts to three and the Sakaraba Sisters become number one contenders to the Lethal Tag Team Championships!
Winner: Sakaraba Sisters
As they celebrate in the ring, Celeste Dumont and Io rush them in the ring and attack them from behind. Coming to their senses Dynamic Duo gets to their feet and chases the champions out of the ring. Afterward they turn their attention to helping the Sakarabas to their feet.
Interview with IJWF World Champion Kayla Winters!
Maria Cuesta: Hello everyone, I would like to welcome you to Manhattan Beach California and the home of the current IJWF World Champion Kayla, thank you for welcoming me into your home.
Kayla: No problem, Maria.
Maria: Since your arrival in Lethal Angels of Wrestling, you have been a dominant force, did you think you were going to be as successful as you were so quickly?
Kayla: Maria, the moment I signed my contact with Lethal Angels of Wrestling, I told everyone I was going to be the most dominant wrestler Lethal Angels Of Wrestling had ever seen, and no one has has dominant as me since I arrived, whether people want to admit it or not, I’m the driving force of Lethal Angels Of Wrestling, I carried the tag division and I carried the world title division and those are facts no one can deny.
Maria: I’d like to ask you about your former Sweet Winters tag team partner, who became sole Lethal Of Angels champion at Lethal Hearts Two.
Kayla: Honestly, she’s a good kid, and she’ll be a decent champion, but she will always be second best to yours truly.
Maria: At Lethal Hearts Two you defeated a true legend in Nina Sanada to retain your IJWF title, what is your assessment of the match and Nina Sanada.
Kayla: To be honest Maria, it was one of the toughest matches of my career, the outcome was enviable of course, as for Nina you’re right she is a legend, but eventually even legends meet their maker.
Maria: So what’s next for Kayla Winters.
Kayla: What’s next, it’s simple to continue to prove why The Hybrid Wrestling Machine is the professional wrestler that Lethal Angels Of Wrestling has, I’ll continue to lead Lethal Angels of Wrestling to heights it never thought possible, why because I’m Kayla Winters, and I can..
Maria: Well there you have words from your IJWF world champion, For Lethal Angels Of Wrestling I’m Maria Cuesta and I’ll catch you next time.
Roni de Vil w/ Tori de Vil vs April Song
(DING DING DING!!)
April and Roni come face to face in the center of the ring and exchange a quick handshake before locking up. Roni uses her raw power to force April backwards but April uses her savvy to lock in a standing side headlock. Roni tries to force her way free, even pulling April’s hair in an attempt to escape, but April has none of it, slinging her opponent to the mat and keeping the hold intact, scoring some quick one-count pinfall attempts before a cradle attempt by Roni scores a near-fall and April breaks the hold.
Melissa Flash: April and Roni are feeling each other out a bit in this pivotal contest. Both are definitely aware of what the other can bring to the table and they will definitely try to minimize mistakes.
Kat Ricci: This is a pretty high stakes match for both women. A win here by April and she could find herself in title contention after her victory at Lethal Hearts II against Tarah. Roni does not want to follow up her loss of the LAW World title with another stumble!
Roni challenges April to a test of strength and as they lock up after April takes the bait Roni nails her with a vicious kick to the midsection before pulling her in for a Belly to Belly Suplex. Roni starts to punish the Killer Bee after this, landing Raining Daggers (Sunset flip double knee backbreaker)! As April tries to get to her feet, Roni lands a Silver Bullet II (Running big boot to a kneeling opponent). April catches foot and attempts to reverse it into a submission, but Roni counters by pinning her shoulders into the mat for the sudden roll-up victory!
Winner: Roni de Vil
As April sits up in disbelief, Roni slides out of the ring, tapping her forehead. As she puts an arm around her sister and walks towards the back, Sweet Roxy emerges out on stage. With her companion DiVa and the Lethal Angel Championship over her shoulder, she makes her way to the ring. She shoos away an upset April and enters the ring with a mic in hand.
As she struts around the ring, Roxy introduces herself as the current Lethal Angel Champion and the “New Sheriff in Town”, Roxanne Vendetta. She continues on, talking about how it was about time that she got her due and despite Kayla being a dominant champion, she shall pick up where her former partner left off and eclipse April Song’s record as the longest reigning title holder in LAW. This prompts April to turn her back, but all of the sudden music starts playing. As "Into The Nothing" by Breaking Benjamin starts, Roxy and DiVa’s eyes grow wide as a familiar face from their previous promotion walks onto stage: “The Cleanser” Eris. April narrows her eyes at the newcomer as Melissa Flash explains to the audience that Eris is the former OWA Women’s World Champion and Athena’s Cup holder. Kat Ricci acknowledges her presence and remarks that nothing good could come out of her presence here in LAW.
