Episode 36: New Groove
Introduction
LAW’s new theme song, “We Will Rock You” by In this Moment (feat.Maria Brink, Lizzy Hale, and Taylor Momsen) plays in the background as the new season 3 intro plays, showcasing the current roster. The video ends showing Lethal American Champion Jessica Hendrix, Lethal Tag Team Champions Celeste Dumont, and Io Ishimori, Lethal Specialist Champion Kylie Monroe, and Lethal Angel Champion Sweet Roxy. We transition to a live feed of the arena as the Globe Theater is filled with a smaller than usual crowd to suit certain guidelines. The camera then goes over to LAW commentators Melissa Flash and Kat Ricci who welcome viewers by giving a rundown of LAW’s previous PPV, Americana!
Melissa speaks about how LAW has received an influx of new talent these past few weeks due to Madam Vega’s initiative to sign the hottest up and coming talent in the industry. IJWF is said to be supporting both LAW and JET in this matter to help build both brands and strengthen their relationship with each other. A screenshot is shown of a Zoom conference held between LAW Chairwoman Marilyn Bellamy, JET Chairwoman Hanako Nakamura, LAW General Manager Madam Vega, and IJWF Chairwoman Miss Manami. Kat remarks that this season has big things lined up to make up for the delay, and tonight the fans will see many new faces in action. Melissa follows this up by introducing the first match…

“The Cleanser” Eris is seen storming through the hallway towards the general manager’s office. The former OWA Women’s Champion doesn’t seem too happy, especially with the outcome of her match. After arriving at the door, she knocks and enters when Madam Vega invites her inside. Eris is asked to take a seat, but she refuses, stating that she wants a rematch against Roxy, preferably one with no count-outs. Vega replies that Roxy won the match fair and square and Eris got outplayed by a smaller opponent. This doesn’t sit well with The Cleanser who mocks Roxy and asks “Is this the kind of champion the GM wants representing LAW?” Eris goes on to say that she’s surprised that a badass like Madam Vega would even condone such an act while referencing the former wrestler’s notorious title run during LAW’s previous incarnation.
Vega rubs her chin for a moment while taking in Eris’s comments. And the idea seemed to spark in the woman’s eyes as she looked up and said she has “something in the works”. Not completely satisfied with Vega’s response Eris stepped back and walked out of the office, leaving Vega to her own thoughts.

She wants to be the longest reigning champ with the most defenses and there’s nothing anyone can do to stop her. Before leaving the ring, she adds that sooner or later she’ll be seeking to regain the Lethal Angel Championship. Ignoring the mixed reaction from fans, Kayla calmly exits the ring with Grace.

“Cherrybomb” by The Runaways plays as Madam Vega walks out to the ring. Once she’s inside the squared circle, she calls out the current LAW champions: Sweet Roxy, Jessica Hendrix, Celeste Dumont, Io Ishimori, Kylie Monroe, and IJWF World Champion Kayla Winters. Madam Vega goes on about how there will be an upcoming show, Thunderstruck held on Halloween! She follows this up by saying that all LAW titles will be on the line. She notices Kayla’s questioning look and says that Kayla will be in a match but will get to that in a moment. Vega tells Celeste and Io that they will be defending their tag belts against number one contenders The De Vil Sisters, Roni and Tori. She then points at Kylie Monroe and says that she will be defending her belt in a Lethal Scramble Match, where its similar to a Scramble Match, but with an emphasis on the hardcore. Her opponents will be former Specialist Champions Revy, April Song, Jocelyn Sky, and Sydney St. Clair.
Jessica stepped forward to see what the GM had in store for her, but Vega waved her down and turned her attention to Roxy. The Lethal Angel Champion will be defending her belt in LAW’s first ever Thunderdome Match! She explained that the match will be held inside of a domed cage. The first person to escape the cage from the top would be Lethal Angel Champion. Vega then adds that Roxy’s opponents would be women that either held the LAW Championship before, or an equivalent from another promotion. That includes Kayla Winters and her IJWF World Championship, though she is a former Lethal Angel Champion. Vega states that other than Winters her opponents would be Liz Karlson, Rebecca Brookes, Nina Sanada, Amanda Payne, and Eris, her opponent from Americana! Roxy tries her hardest to not throw a fit as Kat Ricci remarks that she seems to be trying to turn a new leaf as of late. Melissa adds that redemption doesn’t happen overnight with a cocky grin on her face.
Lastly, Madam Vega asks Jessica Hendrix to step forward. She says that there will be a number one contender triple threat for her title between Winter Seede, Nixie Caine, and Emmanuelle as sort of a welcome present for the new signings. She then adds that Hendrix will very much be in action and it’ll be against the final champion of the previous incarnation of the Lethal American Championship…
At that moment Melissa Flash stands up and makes her way to the ring. Jessica stares in shock as Melissa stands next to Madam Vega, shaking her hand. Melissa takes a moment to soak in the surprise cheers coming from the crowd before taking the mic and uttering the phrase:
“I’m back.”
