“You two have one obstacle left! Each other!”
Midori and Mizuki stand face to face with one another with the RISE Grand Prix Trophy in the middle.
“Cinderella Story 15 is calling, win this match and it’s all yours!”
The camera focuses on a serious Midori who has a red CGI fireball growing behind her.
“Hybrid Dragon… can you overcome the woman who defeated you for prized possession?”
Camera shifts to Mizuki who seems just as focused as her opponent. Behind Mizuki is a blue fireball.
“Ace of JET… can you add one more accolade to your incredible young legacy and get back at the villain who defeated you?”
Both Midori and Mizuki nod while looking at one another.
“Well… You have one more battle. Explode and showcase your fire in all of it’s fury!”
Mizuki and Midori charge at one another as the logo for the event pops up.
“AND NOW JOSHI EXTREME TAKEOVER PRESENTS! RISE GRAND PRIX FINALS 2020 IN NIPPON BUDOKAN!
Singles Match:
NAMI vs. Tani Yamanaka
Both were given a chance to compete on the big stage, NAMI who was coming off an impressive GP debut with a 5-6 record looked to continue her impressive rookie year with a win here tonight. Tani on the other hand is looking to get her first big JET PPV win. Both women had an excellent match for the opening contest with NAMI getting the win after countering Tani’s Neo Emerald Driver into a PLASTIC SURGERY for the win.
(Winner - NAMI)
Tag Team Match:
Rio Kurokawa and Hanna Rockford vs. Machiko Hasegawa and Yuki Takigawa.
An interesting match up as constant tag partners Machiko Hasegawa and Yuki Takigawa took on JET National Champion Rio Kurokawa and GP Young Star award winner Hanna Rockford. Hanna also defeated Rio during the RISE GP round robin stage but they were able to work together quite well during the match. The match ended with Hanna Rockford being able to pin the former JET World Champion with a Prodigy Breaker!
(Winners - Rio Kurokawa and Hanna Rockford)
Post-match:
Backstage as Rio was talking about her potential next challenger, she was approached by Hanna Rockford who challenged her for the JET National Championship. Even with the language barrier, the champ gladly accepted the challenge as she is willing to prove that she is a fighting champion!
Six-Woman Tag Team Match:
DESPERADOS (JUNKO, SAIKO, and Jessica Rose) vs. Sora Todoh, Makiya Kusanagi, and Vivace Fortissimo
After two months away, the JET World Champion is back. The crowd was not happy especially since she missed all of the GP and said that she wouldn’t compete in it. So of course they were full behind Sora and her tag partners. The challenge of not just JUNKO but her second-in-command SAIKO and Jessica Rose would be too much but Sora, Makiya and Vivace were up for the challenge. Sora’s exchanges with the JET World Champion were proof of her growth as she got multiple close calls including one when she hit the Greased Lightning. Unfortunately as much as the young stars they fell to DESPERADOS. The match ended with the JET World Champion pinning Vivace with a Dark Impulse for the win.
(Winners - DESPERADOS)
Post-match:
Sora made her way to the back first for her post match comments as she immediately let it be known what her intentions were for the future. She soon sent a challenge to JUNKO for the JET World Championship to the shock of most press members. Once the JET World Champion got to the back with her faction members, she was told about Sora’s comments and challenge. JUNKO couldn’t help but laugh that Sora thinks she is going to get a shot at her championship. JUNKO reminded everyone that Sora didn’t have a positive record in this GP.
(Commercial for the Rise Up New Generation PPV on November 15th)
We return to ringside as Naomi Serizawa is ready to go for tonight’s next match.
Naomi Serizawa: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and it is for the JET Tag Team Championship!
“Say You Will” by Evanescence plays as Talia Areano and Megan Enders make their way to the ring. Both seem focused on this upcoming match.
Naomi Serizawa: Introducing first! THEY ARE THE CHALLENGERS, TAAAALIIIIAAAA AREEEAAAANOOO AND MEEEEGGGGAAAANNN EEEEENNNNDEEERSSS!
Maki Fujioka: A unique first time tag team, Talia Areano of course is a world renown wrestler and Megan Enders has been a constant improving member of the JET Roster. It could be big for both of them to win their first championships in JET.
Both enter the ring as they get a positive response from the crowd here tonight as “Say You Will” is replaced by Lindsey Stirling’s “Roundtable Rival” and it signals the arrival of the JET Tag Team Champions. Both Sharpe and Wolfe look confident as ever and it showed as they showed off their belts.
Naomi Serizawa: AND THEIR OPPONENT! THEY ARE THE JET TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! VIVINA WOLFE AND BETHANY SHARPE! TOGETHER THEY ARE… !!! SYYYYMMMPPPHONNYYY!!!
Bethany Sharpe (off mic): More like the greatest tag team in the world! Unbeatable and untouchable!
Asuka Kuramochi: Confident as ever, the JET Tag Team Champions are here! Sharpe and Wolfe, of course regained those titles at Yokohama Pro Wrestling Festival and followed it up by defeating the returning Skyland Paradise. Both competed in this year’s RISE GP and came out with positive records of 6 wins and 5 losses. It showed that they aren’t just confident and arrogant but they can back up things that they say.
Wolfegang Symphony entered the ring and were directed to their corner by Yuri Watanabe. The champions handed their belts as Yuri raised them in the air before passing them off to Naomi and asking for the bell to be rung.
JET Tag Team Championship Match:
Wolfegang Symphony (Bethany Sharpe and Vivina Wolfe) (c/v1) vs. Talia Areano and Megan Enders
(DING! DING! DING!)
Asuka Kuromachi: With the sound of the bell, this championship match is underway, and it looks like it is going to be Talia Areano and Bethany Sharpe. Bethany and Talia quickly lock up, and have a struggle before Bethany breaks the lock up and kicks Talia in the stomach as she plants her with a quick Flowing DDT. She covers.
Maki Fujioka: There is no count, Asuka, as Talia was able to quick out immediately. Talia is back up and locks up again with Bethany, but this time she is the one that breaks the lock up and nails a Short-Arm Roundhouse Kick to Bethany. Bethany is a bit shaken by that kick, and Talia applies a Front Facelock, jumps, and twist. Talia has planted Bethany with a Standing Tornado DDT. This has to be payback for what Bethany did earlier. Talia covers.
Yuri Watanabe : One!
Asuka Kuromachi: No! Bethany is able to kick out, and is quick to her feet as she begins a series of strikes on Talia. Bethany finishes it with a nasty looking Spin Kick. Bethany grabs a hold of the dazed Talia and slings her into her corner, and tags in Vivina. Both begin applying a Corner Foot Choke as referee Yuri begins counting to break the hold.
Maki Fujioka: Both women break the hold as Bethany gets out of the ring, and Vivina steps away from Talia. As soon as Yuri moves Talia is hit with a Corner Big Boot and Vivina follows it up with a Running Bulldog. She plants Talia, but she lifts her back looking to finish this. Vivina begins laying into Talia with a series of Shoot Kicks and goes to finish Wolfe Pack Kick with a Roundhouse Kick, but Talia ducks it! She fires back with own series of Shoot Kicks and follows those up with a Roundhouse! She isn't done yet as Vivina is now kneeling, and Talia nails a Shining Wizard! Solar Shower (Double Foot Stomp)! Talia just hit the Solar Shower on the laid out Vivina!
Yuri Watanabe : One! Two!
Asuka Kuromachi: No! Vivina just barely kicked out in the nick of time! We could have seen the end of the match there as well as new champions! Talia is wasting time as she tags in Megan Enders and Megan rushes to Vivina! She begins bombing Vivina with a flury of Jabs and Hooks! Vivina is lending over as Megan begins throwing Axe Handles to the back of Vivina! Vivina is kneeling before Megan as Megan taunts Vivina to stand up and fight. Vivina slows raise to her feet as Megan hits the ropes and...Spears Vivina right into the mat! That had to hurt!
Maki Fujioka: That it did, Asuka. As Vivina's hit the mat hard. Megan grabs hold of Vivina...and she nails a gnarly Powerbomb and floats over into a Jackknife Pin! This could be the end here, Asuka!
Yuri Watanabe: One! Two! Thr--
Asuka & Maki: No!
Maki Fujioka: Vivina kicked out at the last dead second she could have! Megan's face is in awe as she was sure that was the end! Vivina tries to get to Bethany, but Megan picks the leg and begins applying an Ankle Lock as she drags Vivina to the center of the ring. Vivina is struggling and Megan is working the Ankle looking for the tap out victory. Vivina is close to the ropes, but Megan pulls her back and drops to the ground...she applies a Kneebar along with the Ankle Lock! This could be it right here!
Asuka Kuromachi: You may be right, Maki, as it seems there is no way Vivina can escape that hold unless she does reach the ropes. Vivina is still struggling as it seems like Megan is refusing to let go of the hold. What is this!? Vivina has made it to the ropes! She finally gets the break she needed! Referee Yuri begins her count to break the hold, and Megan lets go before the final count. Vivina is slow to her feet as the damage to Vivina's left leg is showing as she is limping on it. Vivina does manage to tag in Bethany, who is ready to make Megan pay for what she did.
Maki Fujioka: Bethany unleashes her rage on Megan as she strikes Megan with a series of Forearm Smashes! She follows that up with a stiff looking Spin Kick! Megan is dazed, and Bethany takes advantage of it by kitting a Rolling Sole Butt to Megan's stomach and nails a quick Flowing DDT! We have seen this before...wait Bethany is against the ropes! She has Megan measured and...B Flat (Curb Stomp)! B Flat!
Yuri Watanabe: One! Two! Thr--
Asuka Kuromachi: No! Megan is able to kick out just like before at the nick of time! Bethany is visibly pissed at this as she can't understand why these women just can't stay down. Bethany looks to hit another Spin Kick to Megan, but Megan has it scouted as stops the kick with her hands! Megan drops Bethany's foot as she answers back with a Crescent Kick! Bethany, now stunned, is slung into Megan's corner as Megan charges at her and nails a Corner Big Boot across Bethany's face! Megan tags in Talia. Talia gets on the top rope as Megan lifts Bethany up for a Powerbomb! Flying Crossbody and Powerbomb combination from Megan and Talia!
Yuri Watanabe: One! Two!
Maki & Asuka: Bethany is able to kick out at just a two count from that!
Maki Fujioka: Bethany must have a strong will to keep those belts because anyone surely would have been pinned. Bethany and Talia begin trading strikes back and forth. Matching the other woman with strike per strike. Talia goes to the ropes, but Bethany follows and hits a Front Dropkick onto Talia against the ropes! Bethany quickly follows that with a Kneeling Jawbreaker! Talia is against the ropes again grabbing her Jaw as Bethany charges once again, but Talia moves out of the way catching Bethany's leg on the rope! Talia rolls up Bethany!
Yuri Watanabe: One!
Asuka Kuromachi: Bethany quickly kicks out! As the two women stare at one another. You can sense the tension as both of these teams are refusing to give the other the upper hand. They begin a test of strength, but as soon as Bethany has a hold on Talia's arm she quickly slings her to her corner and tags in Vivina. Vivina grabs Talia and positions her sideways against her as Bethany climbs to the second rope...The Moonlight Sonata Slam (Sidewalk Slam (Wolfe) / Inverted Leg Drop Bulldog (Sharpe)!
Maki Fujioka: Wait! Vivina is lifting Talia back up and tags in Bethany! Are they going for it?! Vivina lifts Talia in an Electric Chair position and Bethany is on the top rope! They are looking for the Massacre in B Major (Electric Chair Facebuster (Wolfe) / Diving Cutter (Sharpe) combination)!
Maki & Asuka: Wait!? Talia ducks the Diving Cutter as she does a Victory Roll on Vivina!
Yuti Watanabe: One! Two! Thr--
Maki & Asuka: What!? No!? Vivina has managed to kick out!
Asuka Kuromachi: Maki, I have no clue what it is going to take for either team to get to the victory, but it has to be something.
Maki Fujioka: Wait Asuka! Talia has Irish Whipped Vivina into her corner and Vivina slumps to a sitted postion. Talia hit the Rush Hour (Sliding Forearm Smash)! Talia tags in Megan, and Megan grabs a hold of Vivina's arm to yank her up! Megan goes to Irish Whip Vivina, but she pulls Vivina back and lifts her up...Spinebuster! Megan nailed a perfect Spinebuster onto Vivina! She turns her over and begins applying a Calf Crusher on the weakened leg of Vivina!
Asuka Kuromachi: Talia charges at Bethany, who was trying to break the hold, with a Spear! She lifts her up and quickly applies a 3/4 Face Lock...Slice of Heaven (Sliced Bread #2)! Talia has hit her finisher and she rolls Bethany out!
Asuka & Maki: Wait...is Vivina!?
(Ding! Ding! Ding!)
“Say You Will” plays again as the crowd cheers and Talia immediately hugs her tag partner.
Naomi Serizawa: YOUR WINNERS AND THE NEW JET TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS! TTTAAAAALLLLIIIIAAAA ARRREEEAAANO AND MEEEGAN EEENNNDDDEEEERRSSS!
Maki Fujioka: She did, Asuka! Megan just made Vivina tap out! Megan and Talia are the new champions!
Asuka Kuromachi: That they are, Maki, and what a match to win the belts in! Megan and Talia withstood everything Wolfegang threw at them, but in the end it just wasn't enough.
Maki Fujioka: What really sealed the match was the Ankle Lock and Kneebar that damaged Vivina's leg and the quick thinking of Talia with that Victory Roll. Any way, congratulations to the new champions and may they have a good reign as champions.
The final shot before the commercial is of Talia and Megan holding their tag titles high in the air and receiving cheers from the crowd.
(Cinderella Story 15 commercial featuring one of the main themes for the show “Rock Kingdom” by Man With A Mission feat. HOTEI.)
As the commercial ends, it’s a black screen before a video package starts to play along with “I’m Here” by Daichi Miura. The video package showcases Azumi’s entire career from her first time training at the age of 16 to her most recent matches. Every single career defining moment showcased in a montage before her loss in a career vs. title match and the announcement of her retirement. The package ends at the announcement of this upcoming bout, the future of women’s wrestling and a mysterious fifth partner versus the so-called Empire Generation of women’s wrestling.
Pre-match:
As IZM, Momoko Honda, Natsu Toyama and Masumi Tsutsumi made their entrances separately, they patiently waited for their partner and soon the sound of a dragon’s roar could be heard as “Overture” by Yonosuke Kitamura started to play! The crowd was in shock once the titantron read “KAGUYA” as the formerly injured KAGUYA was back!! Donning a new look as she has grown out her hair and dyed it brown along with ditching her black attire for a completely new red attire. Her tag partners were surprised but it seemed that they weren't open to the idea of having her as their partner considering what she had done in the past. The crowd on the other hand was excited to see KAGUYA back in a JET ring.
Afterwards Revy, Aria Jaxon, April Song and Stephanie Matsuda made their entrances separately. To match their attires, each had a piece of red and gold on their gear. The signature colors of Azumi Goto.
Soon after they all were in the ring, instead of “Day of Fate by Jonathan Young, it was the original “Unmei no Hi” by Hironobu Kageyama. Azumi made her way out from the back with an incredible response. Wearing her trademark red robe with the only change being the back having the word “Forever” on it. Azumi takes a while to enter the ring as she’s on the apron, the ropes are soon pulled down for her by the young girls at ringside as she enters. After in-ring introductions, it seemed that Azumi and Natsu Toyama were going to start this match.
Semi-Main/Ten-Women Tag Team Match/Azumi Goto’s Farewell Match
Azumi Goto, Aria Jaxon, Stephanie Matsuda, April Song, and Revy vs. Natsu Toyama, Momoko Honda, IZM, Masumi Tsutsumi, and KAGUYA.
The match started with Natsu and Azumi, the commentators pointed out that it must be hard for Natsu to be here at the moment considering how close she and Azumi are. Both went at it from the start of the bell in this high speed style. It seemed that both made sure to have fun and the crowd enjoyed themselves in the beginning. Azumi looked to be in control early but Natsu was able to make a valiant comeback. Everyone in this match got to shine, especially the young stars that were Azumi’s opponents. The Budokan crowd got to see unique matches that had never happened such as Masumi Tsutsumi vs. April Song, KAGUYA vs. Revy, Aria Jaxon vs. Natsu Toyama, and Stephanie Matsuda vs. Momoko Honda.
An even tag match all the way through as it seemed to be that way for nearly 15 minutes. Azumi nearly had the match won after she hit the Giant Slayer but the surprise of everyone IZM kicked out and it sent the Budokan roaring in cheers. Azumi soon dragged IZM to the corner before climbing the top rope. Azumi leaped for the Path Of Heaven but missed as IZM was able to dodge and roll the moonsault. IZM got back to her feet and was able to deadlift off the ground for a German Suplex but Azumi kicked out. Rather than finishing the match herself, IZM tagged Natsu Toyama who got Azumi up to her feet and nailed her for a Final Answer Suplex. Natsu Toyama beat Azumi Goto and pinned Azumi in her last match.
(Winners - Natsu Toyama, IZM, Momoko Honda, Masumi Tsutsumi and KAGUYA)
“Run To The Future” played as Natsu Toyama and her partners were declared the winner, Azumi was checked up on by her own partners. The music soon died down as the crowd was silent as Azumi Goto got up, Hanako Nakamoto, Yoko Kudo and Miss Manami made their way to the ring from their front row seats. Azumi shook hands with Yuri Watanabe who helped her up to her feet. She soon hugged each one of her tag partners tightly, she thanked the four of them for everything as they left the ring soon after.
Next were her opponents as she first hugged Momoko and IZM telling them both to go be better than she ever was. Masumi and Azumi just shook hands before Tsutsumi bowed and left the ring. KAGUYA just shook hands with Azumi before being pulled in for a hug by her fellow Manami protege. She soon bowed in front of Hanako Nakamoto and Yoko Kudo before telling them to take care of everyone from now. Finally was Natsu who seemed to be in tears as Azumi hugged both Natsu and Miss Manami. Azumi told Natsu “it's okay” and to be great just like her mom.
Azumi was soon left alone in the ring as she was handed a mic. She looked around and tried to hold back any tears.
Azumi Goto: So… this is it. My final match is over and from this moment on, I’m retired now. All I can say is thank you everyone. This has been an incredible decade of entertaining so many people. I got to live out a dream that lasted for this long, what more could I ask for. I know it wasn’t this accolade filled career as one would hope but I can live with that. All I need to know is you all enjoyed my time as a wrestler?
The crowd gave a positive response to Azumi Goto.
Azumi Goto: Thank you… I’m glad! I’m glad that you all enjoyed yourselves and please keep doing so. All I ask is that everyone enjoy themselves and love pro-wrestling with everything they have!
Azumi drops the mic as she exits the ring from what will be the last time in her career. Azumi high-fives all the people in the front row before making her way to the back.
The camera cuts to backstage, KAGUYA is asked why she returned to JET. The only answer KAGUYA gave was revenge. After KAGUYA it was Momoko and IZM who had the chance to talk. Both young stars talked about Azumi and the influence she will leave on them before Momoko looked at IZM dead in the eyes and challenged her to a title match at Rise Up New Generation. IZM gladly accepted and a match between the two rivals was now set in stone for November 15th.
(Commercial for the rest of the JET schedule. Hyping up Rise Up New Generation, Nagoya Spotlight, Collision Course III, Last Stop In Kyoto and Cinderella Story XV)
JET returns from commercial as a video package for the main event begins to play. “Remember Me” by Man With A Mission playing over it. The video package focuses on Midori vs Mizuki from Cinderella Story this past march and the end of Midori’s amazing 315 day reign as champion. It also focuses on the theme of redemption as both of them are looking to redeem themselves for past losses. Mizuki for losing to JUNKO at Goddess Dream and Midori for the Cinderella Story loss to Mizuki. The final clip is both of them simultaneously declaring their victory in a split screen shot.
Camera cuts backstage as before the entrances and pre-match introductions for the main event starts, Azumi has made her way back and she soon meets her own protege Mizuki Nakata who is on her way to the gorilla position. Both share a hug before Azumi says something to Mizuki.
Azumi Goto: Go get her, Ace!
Mizuki nods as the camera cuts to the titantron where every previous winner of the RISE Grand Prix is shown and ends with a picture of Mizuki’s win last year. Now the camera goes to ringside where Naomi Serizawa is ready to go.
Naomi Serizawa: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN IT IS NOW TIME FOR YOUR MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING!
“Ashes” by Lynch begins to play as Midori makes her way from the back. The Hybrid Dragon has her trademark pink attire and white leather jacket. As she makes her way down to the ring, you can see her letting out a sigh.
Maki Fujioka: Here we go with the main event of the evening and out first is Midori Miyamoto who finished her block with 15 points. The former JET World Champion had a quiet start to the season after Cinderella Story but she has been able to prove why she is a candidate for the best female wrestler in the world.
Asuka Kuramochi: There’s a lot of hope by Midori’s fans that she will be able to overcome her opponent and add another huge accomplishment to her resume.
Midori enters the ring and she is directed to her corner as “Ashes” fades out for “Rage of Dust” by SPYAIR. It signals the arrival of The Ace who makes her way out, Mizuki of course wearing her signature black, white and gold attire with a long black entrance jacket. She makes her way down to ring to much love from the fans
Maki Fujioka: And there she is! The Ace of JET is making her way down to the ring and what a moment it would be for Mizuki to become the first ever back-to-back RISE Grand Prix winner and follow that by continuing her Cinderella Story main event streak. Mizuki at her age is making the case for people to remember her as an all time great and definitely has made the case for being The greatest Ace in JET’s history.
Asuka Kuramochi: She definitely is and Mizuki is coming in on a white hot run of form. She started her GP 0-2 but then bounced back to finish with seven wins, three losses and one draw just like Midori. Both know each other well enough at this point, this should be an incredible GP Finals match.
Mizuki Nakata makes her way over to her corner as Naomi Serizawa soon begins the in-ring introduction for the main event.
Naomi Serizawa: THE FOLLOWING CONTEST IS SCHEDULED FOR ONE FALL WITH A SIXTY MINUTE TIME LIMIT AND IT IS THE FINALS OF THE 2020 RISE GRAND PRIX! INTRODUCING FIRST… FROM SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA, UNITED STATES! SHE IS THE A-BLOCK WINNER AND THE HYBRID DRAGON!!! MMMMMIIIIIIIYAAAAAAMOOOOOTOOOO MIDOOOOORRIIIIIII!!!
Midori poses for the crowd in the middle of the ring but her focus is on Mizuki Nakata.
Naomi Serizawa: AND HER OPPONENT… FROM SERA, HIROSHIMA!! SHE IS THE B-BLOCK WINNER AND THE ACE OF JET! NAAAAAKAAATTAAAAA MIIIIZUUUKIIII!!!
The Ace poses for the crowd as she takes off her entrance jacket and tosses it to the young girls at ringside. The referee checks with both competitors if they are ready and they both nod. Soon the bell is rung for this match to begin.
(DING DING DING!)
Maki Fujioka: And here we go, the RISE GP Finals is underway! Nothing but a staredown as Yuri Watanabe signals them to shake hands if they so desire but nothing as the two are staring at one another. Mizuki and Midori begin to circle the ring. The tension for this match can be cut with a knife as both competitors are staring at one another. It feels like their Cinderella Story main event match once again as both finally lock up. Traditional collar and elbow tie up as both try to get the upper hand in the early going. The Ace is able to use her size to push Midori into the ropes but at the last moment Midori is able to flip things around and it’s The Ace against the rope. Yuri Watanabe now wants a clean break from Midori and she gladly breaks before stepping back. In their first match back in March, Mizuki responded with a shove but it seems that The Ace is a bit more calm this time. Mizuki now returns to the center of the ring and both competitors lock up again. Again Mizuki has the advantage and this time without any problem she is able to push Midori into the ropes. Now Mizuki is being told to break and she does just that but not before tapping on Midori’s chest.
Asuka Kuramochi: Mizuki backs to the center of the ring and Midori takes a bit but she meets Midori in the center of the ring. Midori has her hand raised high as she wants to lock up again. Mizuki is reluctant but does end up locking hands only for Midori to kick her in the guts before applying a side headlock. Mizuki tries to escape but Midori’s hold is too tight. The Ace is able to finally escape and push Midori into the ropes. Midori rebounds back but runs into a forearm from Mizuki and is stunned. Mizuki with another forearm but Midori replies with one of her own. Both are trading shots repeatedly until Mizuki is able to duck one and land a release German Suplex. Midori is holding her neck in pain as she rolls out of the ring. She might have landed badly on her neck. Mizuki now on the apron as she waits for Midori to get back up to her feet. The Ace now rushes and a running Bullet Train Double Knee to the back of Midori’s head and neck! She leaped and nailed that knee strike with a lot of force behind it.
Maki Fujioka: The Ace is not joking around at the moment as she wants to win her third RISE Grand Prix. She isn’t taking this lightly, she knows who her opponent is and knows her well. It took everything out of Mizuki back at Cinderella Story to beat Midori and it might take just as much here tonight, maybe even more. Mizuki now gets Midori up and immediately Irish whips her into the steel barricade set up. Midori just crashed right in front of us and collapsed down to a seated position. Mizuki now rushes and launches herself for ANOTHER BULLET TRAIN---- SHE MISSED! Midori was able to dodge just in time and Mizuki crashes both knees into the steel barricade! The Ace seems to be in pain as Midori now with a running low dropkick to the right leg of Mizuki. Again Nakata is holding her in pain as Midori now gets Mizuki back into the ring and goes for the cover.
Yuri Watanabe: OOOOONNNNNEEEEE!!! TWWWWOOOOO!!!
Asuka Kuramochi: And The Ace kicks out as Midori immediately goes to work and attacks the legs of Mizuki. Midori with kicks to the hurt legs and looking to apply a Boston crab. Mizuki isn't making it easy for Midori and she's fighting back but Midori is able to get the double leg crab in. Mizuki is trapped in the center of tje ring as she is trying her best to crawl towards the ropes. The Ace is fighting and making sure to not tap. She is nearly there… but Midori pulls Mizuki back to the center of the ring and shifts it to an ankle lock!! Again Mizuki is fighting and gets the ropes this time. Yuri Watanabe having a word with Midori who hasn't let Mizuki free and begins to yell at her to do so as Midori immediately raises Mizuki up off the ground while still in the ankle lock and NAILS her with a kick to the chest. Mizuki's hand was still on the ropes as Yuri Watanabe is now having a conversation with Midori and warning her. Midori is being far more aggressive at the moment than both you and I were expecting her to be.
Maki Fujioka: She's going into this match with an aggressive mindset. The guaranteed title shot from RISE GP only comes once a year and Midori knows this. She wants to be JET World Champion again, just as much as her opponent Mizuki who is struggling right now. The Ace is pain as she is using the ropes to get back to her feet. Midori now with a kick to the leg of The Ace. That might have been a bit uncalled for as Mizuki is still holding onto the rope. Another warning from Yuri Watanabe and this time Midori is met with a forearm from Mizuki! A stiff shot from Mizuki and Midori responds with a kick to the leg. Mizuki with another shot and a second shot. Mizuki now picks up Midori in a Vertical Suplex position and has her high in the air but The Ace seems to be pain as she forced to drop Midori down. Midori now ducks a wild swing from Mizuki and nails with a low dropkick to the right leg. Mizuki is down to one knee and Midori follows it up with a brutal roundhouse kick to the side of Mizuki's head. A cover now by Midori!
Yuri Watanabe: OOOOOONNNNNNNEEEEE!!!! TWWWWWOOOOOOO!!!! THRE----
Asuka Kuramochi: And Mizuki kicks out as the always resilient Ace stays alive. After missed double knee this match has been all Midori. Mizuki has only gotten a few shot and The Ace will need to change that soon if she intends to win. But right now it seems like Mizuki is struggling to her feet. Midori soon kicks Mizuki in the chest and Mizuki absorbs it and yelling at Midori to kick her again. The Hybrid Dragon does just that as she kicks Mizuki in the chest one more time. The Ace is getting back to her feet and once again gets kicked in the chest. She soon replies with a stiff forearm to the face. She made sure that Midori felt that strike, Midori soon kicked Mizuki in the chest but got nailed with a forearm from The Ace. One more forearm from Mizuki and a second unanswered forearm. The Ace is on fire as each of her forearms forces Midori back. Midori soon charges with a big boot but Mizuki is able sidestep in time and nail a discus lariat!! Cover by Mizuki!
Yuri Watanabe: OOOOONNNNNEEEE!!! TWOOOO---
Maki Fujioka: Midori kicks out to the surprise of everyone as Mizuki is continuing to go on the offense. She soon gets Midori up as she is looking to nail a vertical suplex but Midori is fighting and not letting Mizuki lift her up. The Ace's natural strength is too much as she is able to lift up Midori but the damage to her legs seem to be too much and she is forced to drop Midori in from of her. Midori now with a barrage of quick strikes that seems to have stunned Mizuki. She rushes to the rope and back to Mizuki but immediately gets caught by Mizuki who has her in an Exploder Suplex hold. Midori drives her back elbow into the side of Mizuki's head and escapes the Exploder attempt. Mizuki now swings but Midori ducks, she ducks another wild swing and Midori slips behind this around. She applies a waistlock but immediately is rocked by a back elbow from Mizuki. The Ace soon turns around as she once again lifts Midori up and this time she is able to land the vertical suplex. Cover by Mizuki…
Yuri Watanabe: OOOOONNNNNNEEEE!!! TWOOOO---
Asuka Kuramochi: Midori kicks out as Mizuki again picks up her foe and this time she is looking to end it. She puts Midori onto her shoulder as Mizuki is looking for Lanikea but Midori is fighting!! The Hybrid Dragon is able to fight out of it with back elbows and slips behind Mizuki. Midori now with an O'Connor roll as she is looking for Catalyst Shift but Mizuki is able to stop the German Suplex attempt with a stiff back elbow! Both are now face to face as Midori with a kick to the chest of Mizuki. Like before Mizuki doesn't seem to be phase.
Maki Fujioka: Mizuki can take a lot of punishment, she has faced many people who are stiff strikers and Midori is similar to those. The Ace now yelling Midori to attack and she replies with a hard slap to the face! Another slap but The Ace is only stunned and pushed back. Midori now with a SHOTEI--- Mizuki with a knuckle punch!!! Mizuki just countered Midori's attempt for the BURNING combination with that punch but Midori is still wanting to go. Midori now with another pair of slaps and again Mizuki is just stunned… Midori with another pair of stiff slaps!! This time Mizuki is dazed and Midori NAILS THE SHOTEI!! THE BURNING COMBINATION CONNECTS!! Cover by Midori!
Yuri Watanabe: ONNNNEEEEE!!! TWWWWOOOO!!! THREE---
Asuka Kuramochi: Mizuki kicks out as Midori heads to her corner… she is signalling for the end and waits for Mizuki to get back up to her feet. The Ace is slow to get up but she seems to be wanting to go. Midori charges… SHATTERCRYST--- NO!! MIZUKI BLOCKS THE ROUNDHOUSE!! The Ace spins Midori around and applies a waist-lock… THE STRENGTH OF MIZUKI TO SEND MIDORI INTO THE MIDDLE TURNBUCKLE WITH A GERMAN SUPLEX! Mizuki now rushes to the opposite corner and back for SHINKANSEN ATTACK!!! The Ace seems to be in pain as she nailed the double knee! The earlier damage to her legs must be flaring up again as it's Mizuki a bit of time to recover but she is able to pull Midori out of the corner and goes for the cover!
Yuri Watanabe: ONNNNEEEE!!! TWWWOOOO!!!
Maki Fujioka: Just a two count as Midori kicks out. The damage to the legs that Midori dealt in the early stages is now coming into play. Taking away the Shinkansen Attack and Hyperion from Mizuki's kit is a great thing from Mizuki. Speaking of Mizuki she seems to be heading to the top rope. The Ace is looking to go for a Hyperion. She seems a bit sluggish as she climbs up. This might be a good call from The Ace as knees might still be feeling the effects from before. Mizuki is now on the tope rope but Midori is up as well. Midori now with a yakuza kick to the right leg of Mizuki and now Mizuki is forced into a seated… A HUGE DROPKICK FROM MIDORI AS MIZUKI TUMBLES TO THE OUTSIDE!!
Asuka Kuramochi: The Ace might have landed badly as Mizuki is down. Midori now takes this chance as she climbs the rope up… she might be thinking to leap off onto Mizuki. Whatever the plan might by, Mizuki is looking to put a stop to it. The Ace has gotten onto the apron and now onto the middle turnbuckle bar. Mizuki with a big elbow shot but Midori responds with her own elbow shot. Another shot from Mizuki and once again Midori fires back. Now Mizuki with a barrage of elbows. Three unanswered shots as Midori seems dazed. Mizuki soon applies a Exploder Suplex hold. The crowd here at Budokan are going nuts as Mizuki might just hit an Exploder to the outside. Midori is fighting as Mizuki is forced to let go--- MIZUKI WITH A BRUTAL HEADBUTT!!! The Ace just nailed a brutal headbutt! Midori is stunned as Mizuki reapplies her Exploder Suplex hold. MIZUKI HIT IT!!! MIZUKI WITH A HUGE EXPLODER SUPLEX SENDING MIDORI OFF THE TOP ROPE TO THE HARD FLOOR!!
(Replays from all different angles of the huge Exploder Suplex is shown.)
Maki Fujioka: The crowd here has gonna dead silent as both women crashed hard onto the floor. Neither is showing an inch of life as Yuri begins to count.
Yuri Watanabe: ONE! TWO! THREE! FOUR! FIVE! SIX!
Maki Fujioka: And we're seeing some signs of life as Mizuki is the first to recover. The Ace is slow to her feet but she is able to get herself up. Meanwhile it seems Midori is out of it, Mizuki now trying to get Midori up as the ref's count reaches the count of 10 but Midori is pretty much dead weight. A countout win would still give Mizuki a GP win as she slides into the ring. Midori is finally showing life as the count is up to twelve.
Yuri Watanabe: THIRTEEN! FOURTEEN! FIFTEEN
Asuka Kuramochi: Midori is still on one knee as the crowd is rallying her on! They don't want to see this incredible contest end with a count out.
Yuri Watanabe: SEVENTEEN! EIGHTEEN! NINETEEN! TWEN---
Maki Fujioka: Midori made her way back into the ring as she rolls in. Mizuki immediately goes in and covers Midori!
Yuri Watanabe: OOOONNNNEEEEE!!! TWWWWOOOOOO!!! TTTHHHREEEE----
Maki Fujioka: Midori kicks out as the crowd is cheering her on. She seems to be able to go on even after that danger Exploder Suplex almost ended the match by countout. The referee seems to be concerned about Midori as she gets Mizuki to back away to her corner. Midori is using the ropes to get back up to her feet using the corner turnbuckles. Mizuki soon rushes in, charging full steam ahead but The Ace immediately runs into the boot of Midori. Nakata is stunned as Midori with a fierce slap! Another slap from Midori, she hasn't stopped at all with these slaps! The Hybrid Dragon is looking sluggish but she is putting everything into each strike at the moment. Mizuki finally has a response as she fires back with an elbow. Midori doesn't seem phased at all and it seems she may have gotten a second wind as she nails another slap!! Mizuki now almost demanding that Midori hit her and The Hybrid Dragon gladly responds with another stiff strike but The Ace is still standing tall.
Asuka Kuramochi: These two have to be nearing their end soon. They have thrown everything at one another jn this main event. Mizuki now nails an elbow and finally Midori is taken back a bit! One more elbow from Mizuki. And Mizuki spinning, looking for a possible spinning lariat--- Midori caught Mizuki with another hard slap!! MIDORI NOW PULLS MIZUKI IN!! PHANTOM NIGHT!! Could this be it?!
Yuri Watanabe: ONNNNEEEEE!!! TTTTWOOOOOO!!! THREE---
Maki Fujioka: Mizuki kicks out! This has been incredible. Both have thrown everything at one another and are still willing to go. Just like their previous encounter someone has to dig deep and pull out something big for the win. Midori is again in her corner as she is waiting for Mizuki to get up. The Ace is on her knees as Midori comes charging in for a sliding knee!! No Mizuki able to roll out of the just in time!! Midori charges at The Ace but Mizuki immediately is able to pick Midori up--- MIZUKI HIT THE LANIKEA!!! SHE HIT IT!! THE ACE MIGHT HAVE JUST WON BACK TO BACK RISE GRAND PRIX!!
Yuri Watanabe: OOOOONNNNNEEEEE!!!! TWWWWOOOOOO!!!! THHHHREEEEEEE---
Asuka Kuramochi: MIDORI KICKED OUT!!! She just kicked out of the same move that beat her at Cinderella Story! The Ace is shocked… the Lanikea is normally a guaranteed match ender but Midori just proved that wrong tonight. What does Mizuki have to do to beat her opponent?
Maki Fujioka: Unfortunately I'm not an ex-wrestler, so I have no clue at all. Mizuki seems to be thinking of something now as she gets Midori to her feet and up onto her shoulders one again for a second Lanikea. Midori looks so out of it right now. Mizuki with another Lanikea--- Midori flips out of it. She just flipped herself onto her feet. Midori jumps… SHATTER-- no Mizuki blocks the kick as she spins and nails Midori with a rolling elbow. Mizuki now rushes to her corner and charges to Midori… SHOTGUN DROPKICK!! Midori goes back first into the turnbuckle! She is in the perfect position for ANOTHER BULLET TRAIN ATTACK! The third double knee connects and once again Mizuki looks like she is in pain but she pulls Midori off the corner and goes for a cover again.
Yuri Watanabe: OOOOONNNNNEEEE!!! TWWWWOOOOO!!! THRRRREEEE---
Asuka Kuramochi: Again Midori is able to kick as The Ace is running out of options and it seems that both of her legs are in pain at the moment. Mizuki is slow to get up to her feet but she's look at the top rope. I think The Ace is thinking Hyperion even with the damage to her legs. Mizuki now heads to the apron and begins to slowly climbs up the top rope. Midori is the perfect distance away for a Hyperion. MIZUKI LEAPS FOR A HYPERION--- MIDORI ROLLED OUT OF THE WAY! The Ace completely missed the Hyperion and crashed knees first onto the ring!! Midori with a chance as Mizuki seems to be in too much to move. Midori with a Buzzsaw Kick!! And now she rushes the ropes for a sliding knee and that connects as well! Mizuki seems out of it after those two strikes!! Midori now picks up Mizuki… Midori with an O'Connor Roll AND DEADLIFT GERMAN SUPLEX! MIDORI HIT THE CATALYST SHIFT SUPLEX! COVER BY MIDORI!
Yuri Watanabe: OOOONNNNEEEEE!!! TTTTTWWWWWOOOOO!!! TTTTHHRREEEEE!!!
(Ding! Ding! Ding!)
"Ashes" by Lynch begins to play again as Midori drops the bridge. Young girls enter the ring to help both competitors. The Ace is being helped to her feet and out of the ring.
Naomi Serizawa: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!! YOUR WINNER OF THIS MATCH AND THE WINNER OF THE 2020 RISE GRAND PRIX!!! MIYAAAAMOOOTTOOO MIIIIDOOORRRIIII!!!
Asuka Kuramochi: She did it! Midori Miyamoto has gotten redemption for her Cinderella Story! She just defeated Mizuki Nakata in an incredible bout. Both wanted this victory, both wanted the opportunity to main event Cinderella Story 15 but only one has that guarantee and her name is Midori Miyamoto!
The camera focuses on Mizuki who is trying to not put pressure on her legs.
Maki Fujioka: You're absolutely right but nothing can be taken away from The Ace. Mizuki Nakata still did everything in her power to put away Midori but this time it was Midori who dug deep and found the extra fight in her to win.
“Ashes” finally dies down as Midori takes a moment or two to catch her breath before she uses the ropes to make it back up to a vertical base. Midori gives herself a moment or two before she walks over and asks for a microphone. One is provided shortly afterwards.
Midori Miyamoto: Mizuki? I want you to listen to me.
She takes a moment or two more in order to catch her breath. Afterwards, she continues on.
Midori Miyamoto: Joshi Extreme Takeover has considered you its Ace for a considerable amount of time. It was not a label that was simply given to you; you earned it by merit. I appreciate that. I understand that. But one thing that you must appreciate and understand is the fact that I’ve beaten you on multiple occasions.
She pauses.
Midori Miyamoto: Mizuki? I think it’s fair to say that you and I have a complicated relationship. We are friends at heart. Hell, you were the one who encouraged me to soar and be free. But whenever the prospect of battle comes up, we turn into rivals. And that is fine. Rivalries have pushed competitors forward for centuries. The only issue is that you begin to underestimate me whenever we fight. Your confidence turns to arrogance. You spoke to the people of Ota-Ward like your victory was a foregone conclusion. However, you didn’t take into account what I’d do to put you down for the count. And, you didn’t take into account what I had to go through to get to this match.
The young woman takes a second to unravel the tape from her wrists.
Midori Miyamoto: My road to this match was not easy. I defeated the current Academy Champion, IZM. I defeated the world renown Talia Areano. I went to war with Ai Moe. I shattered Yuki Takigawa’s streak. And I defeated Azumi Goto herself.
She lets the tape fall onto the mat.
Midori Miyamoto: That’s not to say that you didn’t have your own battles to contend with. However, the caliber of wrestlers that I face to get here should have indicated something to you―I’ve grown even more.
The young woman nods her head.
Midori Miyamoto: Mizuki? There is only one Ace in JET. That is a fact. However, there is also one Midori Miyamoto. And she is not below you; she is your equal. I ask that you remember that next time.
Midori then takes a moment to think about what she needs to say. She then turns towards the crowd.
Midori Miyamoto: When KAGUYA was crippling this company, only a few people had the courage to stand up to her. Mizuki. Ai. Myself. We weakened her army together. However, when it came time to cut the head off of the snake, that was left to one woman. And that woman was me. I’ve been fighting for JET’s prosperity and safety since the day I signed on the dotted line. At times, I left like the people in power here didn’t care about me and my well-being. At times, I felt weak. At times, I felt like I should have quit. I rose up. I became stronger. And I did what right for this company.
She nods her head.
Midori Miyamoto: And now? It’s time to do all of that again. JUNKO? You hurt this company when it needed you the most. JET was looking for wrestlers to prove themselves when you joined; it was looking for people to carry it into the great beyond. But instead of taking on that challenge like the rest of us, you elected to try and destroy JET. I will never forget that. I will never forgive that. And I will not continue to allow you and your hooligans the run roughshod throughout this company once again.
She nods her head once again.
Midori Miyamoto: I’m coming to knock you off of your throne, just like I did to your failed leader. And I sincerely hope that you fortify yourself for what’s about to happen.
Midori pauses for a moment.
Midori Miyamoto: Thank you, Budokan.
Afterwards, she sets the microphone down. Soon Hanako Nakamoto enters the ring with the RISE Grand Prix Trophy, she hands Midori her prize along with the title match contract for Cinderella Story. Midori shakes hands with the JET President as pink and gold confetti falls down from the Budokan ceiling. The final shot of the event is Midori Miyamoto standing in the center of the ring with both the trophy and title match contract in her hand
