JET 42
Date: October 28th, 2020
Venue: Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan
A recap of last week’s JET where multiple matches were confirmed for the Rise Up New Generation card plays before we cut to the Korakuen Hall crowd, “Rusty Nail (Instrumental)” by X Japan played as JET General Manager Yoko Kudo made her way to the ring to a positive reception from the fans in attendance.
Yoko Kudo: Konbanwa Korakuen Hall!
The fans respond back with cheers as Yoko continues to talk.
Yoko Kudo: As you all know, tonight is the last tour show for Rise Up New Generation before we have the tour finale in Sendai. Of course the name of the show is to push the idea of JET’s Younger Stars to step up and take the next step. So after a long board meeting, the consensus from the JET Board is that the JET Academy Championship match between IZM and Momoko Honda should be the main event of the show.
Another positive reception from the fans.
Yoko Kudo: And it has been decided that for the first time ever since the title’s creation, the Academy Championship will be the main event of a JET Supershow. Along with that we will need to find out who the contender for the Academy Title will be after Rise Up New Generation. So there will be a four-way set for the event featuring four selected talented individuals.
NAMI
Amy Slayton
Julia Zhang
And Makiya Kusanagi
Have been selected with the winner facing the Academy Champion at the next event.
The crowd gave a mixed reception mostly due to three of the four names selected.
Yoko Kudo: With that I hope you all enjoy the show we have for you tonight!
“Rusty Nail (Instrumental)” plays again as Yoko leaves the ring.

Singles match:
HULK vs. Tani Yamanaka
After a successful debut, HULK went into her second match against Tani Yamanaka who hasn’t been in a great run of form recently. The Osaka native was once again able to showcase her strength and size before ending the match a “Farewell, Osaka”!
(Winner - HULK)
Post-match:
After the match in her post match interview, HULK asked for a bigger opponent and out came Machiko who wasn’t competing on tonight’s show. She said that she would be the perfect opponent and both shook on it, a match set! HULK vs Machiko Hasegawa, power vs power!
---
A video package for Diantha Rosso’s arrival in JET soon played with news that she will officially sign her contract at the Rise Up New Generation show on the 15th of November!
After the news, it was time for the second match of the evening.
Singles Match:
Yukiko Kusanagi vs. Spring TORA
Debutant Yukiko Kusanagi was another one of the recent editions to the JET as she took on JET young girl Spring TORA in a singles match. The Demolition Angel was able to pick apart TORA with no problem all throughout the match and unfortunately Spring TORA’s comeback wasn’t able to stop Yukiko from winning the match as she made the JET Young Girl submit to the 50 Shades Of Pain
(Winner - Yukiko Kusanagi)
---
Tag Team Match:
Amy Slayton and Makiya Kusanagi vs. Julia Zhang and NAMI
With the four-way to determine a future Academy Championship challenger announced, the four competitors split into two teams. Former Academy Champion Amy Slayton teamed up with Makiya Kusanagi and DESPERADOS’ Julia Zhang teamed with NAMI. Even though The Golden Queen wasn’t a DESPERADOS member, Zhang and NAMI worked well. Makiya and Amy Slayton were able to get the match their favor but right at the end just as when Makiya was about to make a tag, Slayton left the ring which gave Zhang the opening to nail a HUGE brainbuster for the win.
(Winners - Julia Zhang and NAMI)

(A raven lands on an onigawara shrine temple head to start the Osoroshii video package. The Tsutsumi oni masks and Mei’s kunoichi mask swirl around the now pitch black screen as an ominously low rendition of the “Nothing Stands in Our Way” instrumental of Lacuna Coil plays.)
Voice over: Fearsome. Dread. Osoroshii. Only such words and emotion exist when met with the lady dread knights of sword and fist.
(In the darkness, the left side of the view is cracked open by a fist and the right is open by the slashing of a sword. A child Masumi is shown with her year younger cousin Jaydayne Pendragon as kids learning martial arts at the Tsutsumi residence, Pendragon looking exasperated as his cousin pushes for them to practice even into the night while Narumi laughs at his troubles. It switches to the image of little Mei, who under the wise eye of her father, practices bokken fighting with her older brother, Shira. Mei landed on the floor a few times as she couldn't stand the strength of her training partner and her dad shaking his head at the mere view of that. )
Voice over: Raised in the old ways but answering to the modern call of young women taking their rightful share in their family birthright of honor and duty, they yearned to show they were nothing if not capable. Whether resisted from the hells below or the skies above, none could the deny the Oni and Mistress of Ravens that right.
(Masumi is shown passing her fifth dan exam in a Taekwondo facility away from home. Mei is seen becoming a student of Jaydayne Pendragon, her attitude reminding him of his cousin in her unrelenting approach as a student in sword fighting and puroresu under his wing.)
Voice over: Unsatisfied with limitations at home, uncontrollable tempests, they sought out their own paths in the way of the warrior.
(Pendragon is shown introducing Mei to the twins. Knowing they both can be a handful if they become angry, Pendragon and Narumi look on concerned as both warrior women size each other up. The older Masumi extends her hand, Mei folds her arms as Narumi and Pendragon sweat. Masumi almost looks about to snap, until Mei points her head towards a fighting mat, Masumi smiles agreeing to the notion.)
Voice over: Eventually, only iron can sharpen iron when they are tempered to the top of their class.
(Masumi and Mei are shown intensely training against one another as Narumi watches holding water and towels for them.)
Voice over: A bond forged through the martial way, blood and pupil of the dragon set a mighty blaze in the Joshi Extreme Takeover federation.
(Both Mei and Masumi shake hands and take a bow at one another as the package ends with Narumi happily hopping around them. Masumi stops Narumi, and signals Mei and herself to get back to what they enjoy the most, testing and improving their skills in the art of fighting, as both partners smile at the thought.)

Tag Team Match:
Yuki Takigawa and Hannah Rockford vs. Rio Kurokawa and Vivace Fortissimo
Champion and challenger met up for one more match against one another before their clash for the National Championship. Hannah and Rio were going 100% in this tag match. Hanna and Takigawa were surprisingly good team as they were able to get the win when Hanna pinned Vivace after a Gen-Z Knee
(Winners - Hannah Rockford and Yuki Takigawa)
Post-Match:
Hannah Rockford talked about her match and made it clear that she intends to win. She’s been a part of the JET roster for nearly a year plus and it’s finally time to step up and become a champion.

Semi Main/Six-Women Tag Team Match:
KAGUYA, Sora Todoh and Natsu Toyama vs. DESPERADOS (JUNKO, Q, and Jessica Rose)
DESPERADOS took on roster members who clearly did not like the villainous group. With two singles matches set featuring four of the six competitors, the match got extremely heated. JUNKO did everything in her power to avoid KAGUYA but the match was more about Sora who was having her right leg attacked by DESPERADOS. Luckily Sora was able to make a comeback by getting the tag to KAGUYA who was able to take it to all of the members of DESPERADOS. As KAGUYA was able to hit Jessica with a Dragon’s Roar, she was attacked from behind by SAIKO which caused the DQ.
(Winners via DQ - KAGUYA, Sora Todoh and Natsu Toyama)
Post-Match:
SAIKO and the rest of DESPERADOS were continuing the beatdown even after the loss and specifically were looking to injure Sora’s right leg before the big JET World Championship match. Just as they were going to do just that, the crowd exploded as MIZUKI NAKATA MADE HER WAY FROM THE BACK! The Ace had missed all of this past tour due to her injuries but she seemed to be fine now and made the save. As she took it to all members of DESPERADOS, Mizuki got SAIKO up for a Lanikea but The Mob Psycho slipped out and like the rest of the DESPERADOS group left the ring. As always the rivals, SAIKO and Mizuki eyed one another with SAIKO giving a smile.
The show went to its final commercial with the rest of Sora’s partners thanking KAGUYA but tensions were still in the air with KAGUYA and The Ace.

As JET returned from commercial, it was time for the main event of the evening.
Main Event/Tag Team Match:
IZM and Ai Moe vs. Midori Miyamoto and Momoko Honda
In the main event of JET 42, it was the RISE Grand Prix Winner Midori Miyamoto and challenger for the Academy Championship Momoko Honda versus Academy Champion IZM and challenger for the RISE GP Title Match Contract Ai Moe. Four of the top stars of JET were able to create magic in the ring as it was one of the best matches on a tour show. Everyone had a chance to shine in this tag match but in the end, Momoko Honda was able to get the win with a HUGE Earth Quaker on the Academy Champion and now heads into Rise Up New Generation with momentum on her side.
(Winners - Momoko Honda and Midori Miyamoto)
Post-match:
With the crowd chanting her name, Momoko asked for a mic and got one from the ringside crew. She asked if the fans enjoyed the show which got a loud response of cheers from the Korakuen crowd. She soon told IZM that she will be her greatest rival as both of them are in the same age group and have faced twice before. The score was one win for Momoko and one draw. She told her rival that she intends to make the score two wins for Momoko at Rise Up New Generation and become a two-time Academy Champion.
Meanwhile Midori got a chance to speak and stoic as ever, she told Ai to bring her absolute best as she intends to finally have a match not end in a time limit draw.
