Brief biography:
1995. In a little hospital somewhere in Tokyo, a little girl opened her eyes for the very first time. She smiled and she had all right to do so. She just won the lottery. Her parents were rich buisnessmen and quite popular, significant shareholders within Toyota, Panasonic and NTT. Father and Mother returned that honest smile that night, but it would remain a rare occurrence.
It was a long walk. From junior high school to the first few steps into university. But soon enough Chiyo realised that she wasn't born out of love, but out of necessity. A byproduct of societies demands and a tool to further the family line. A soul extinguished and filled with knowledge and expertise on a subject her heart knew nothing about.
Yet, a few flames remained intact. A soul cannot survive without art. And even though her parents tried to keep that concentrated on something appropriate, like the violin or theater, there was something else. Few of her classmates talked about it all the time. Just hearing about it seemed so bizarre for a sheltered 18-year-old girl. Two women fighting each other in costumes inside a squared circle until one of them was exhausted enough to fall down for a three-count? Wrestling?
University became less important. The business and management student found herself more often than not browsing the internet for matches and going to any live show in her area. It was a lot like theater, the only thing she quite enjoyed doing. But more...pure. Her work suffered, her home life became unbearable as a result. She was only loveable when she was someone else, she knew that already.
Chiyo Umehara quit university and ran away from her home, knowing she would be disowned anyway. As her mental health was declining and hanging by a thread by this one passion called wrestling, Chiyo found herself in a more and more self-destructive lifestyle. Drugs, Alcohol and running from the police from one shady motel into the next was her everyday life now.
She signed to a little wrestling school in Osaka and began her daily training. She wasn't good by any means and definetly had no god-given talent to begin with. Screwing up a lot and progressing less than the other students. Frustrated by the fact that her only escape from life is turning out to be something she maybe isn't even meant to do, her eagerness to self-destruct even spilled over to wrestling. Discovering hardcore wrestling or more specifically, deathmatch wrestling. Chiyo and promoters and trainers alike quickly realised that this was her calling. Beginning to flourish not only within training because of being freshly motivated, but also having found the perfect outlet for her creative self-expression. Not in a healthy way, but that didn't matter now. Only concerned with finding new ways to present herself to the audience and bringing her art of violence to mainstream media hopefully in due time.
As of today, Chiyo Umehara is wrestler with a few years of expertise already under her belt. Someone that now also wishes to expand outside of only hardcore promotions and bring her love for theatrics and violence back to the more classic realms of professional wrestling. Trying to create a legacy as a full-fledged artist and contributor to the scene.
