Brief biography
Kiyoko Takeda was born on 22 March 2001, the third child of former wrestler Kenji Takeda and his wife Misaki. She lived a relatively unremarkable childhood; academically, she would say she isn’t especially bright and even less interested than most kids because of that fact. She did what she had to do to pass her classes, but nothing more and nothing less. She was a normal child, living a relatively normal childhood...except for the fact that she was constantly surrounded by professional wrestling. It was all she knew as a child, it was all she grew up wanting to do. She took up martial arts as a child as a way of pretending to be a wrestler, ironically, eventually reaching nikyu in Judo and shodan in Kyokushin Karate.
At the age of 14, she began to beg her father to allow her to train as a wrestler, but she was refused at every turn. Her father had seen what wrestling did to people, and was adamantly opposed to letting her train, wanting her to focus on her schoolwork, focus on living a normal, healthy life, as opposed to getting involved in the wrestling world--but that didn’t stop Kiyoko from wanting to be allowed to train.
It took 2 years of begging and pleading and bargaining before her father finally acquiesced and allowed her to train--but it was far from love at first sight, when she first stepped on the mat.
Despite her family’s history in wrestling, despite her athletic background, despite everything, when she entered the Tsunami Dojo in Sapporo, she was no overnight success. She was put through a battery of courses, including continuing her martial arts training, to purge both what her trainer saw as familial egocentrism, and any expectation of favoritism. She was beaten, battered, and bloodied on more than one occasion, but she was determined. She wouldn’t accept anything less than graduation, anything less than success--even though it took the best part of 2 years of hard work and grinding.
Upon graduating and turning pro, she would distance herself from her family name and her father’s reputation from his career--even as she gave in to the same egotism that her father was known for during his career. She rechristened herself as Satoko Yoshida, the Blood Diamond--the rightful Princess of Pro Wrestling, the rightful Centre of the Universe.
And she would do whatever she had to to make everyone aware of that.
In-Ring Information
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral HeelGimmick Explanation: Blood Diamond -- As a wrestler, Satoko Yoshida was christened the Blood Diamond for her revelry in violence. To put it simply, she is a brutalist. Ultimately, she believes in her abilities, and she believes her wins will be defined by her skill more than anything--but she isn't afraid to sink lower than her opponents if that's what it takes. Yoshida's tactics can be grimy, she can be needlessly violent if she feels her opponent deserves it, and she loves drawing blood from her rivals, whether with her own bare hands, or her favoured kendo stick. Yoshida largely does what she wants, when she wants, to whomever she wants. As a person, she is utterly infatuated with the idea of being the centre of everyone’s attention. She doesn't especially care if it's in a positive or a negative light; she doesn't care how the fans receive her, so much as that they receive her.
