Character base:
Real Name: Lyn Mara Soverna.
Ring Name: MARA.
Nickname(s): Le Boucher, The Apex Predator.
Birthday: May 29th, 1996.
Hometown: Versailles, Vyelines, France.
Resides: Osaka, Japan.
Height: 5'5"
Weight: 150 lbs
Brief biography: Affluent, violent, driven and sadistic, Le Boucher has a penchant for cruelty and the suffering of her opponents. Trained in her home country of France in private sessions with the best wrestlers her family's money could find, MARA's hold on the basics is impeccable. After years of tormenting opponents throughout France, the United Kingdom, and other parts of the European Union, MARA went to Japan seeking a contract with JET, to push herself even further.
Alignment: Heel.
Theme: "Claire de Lune" by Claude Debussy. (add hyperlink if possible)
Gimmick Explanation: MARA picks her opponents apart piece by piece, often willing to withstand a volley of offense from them or evade it to the best of her ability before going in for the kill. Mara's technical style, mixed with heavy blows to the skull and occasional targeted strikes, make the Apex Predator a feared opponent. She's cool, calm, and collected during a bout, rarely showing frustration or irritation unless something absolutely, positively does not work.
10 Typical Moves:
- Standard leg-based strikes: Superkicks, dropkicks, knees, fancier kicks. MARA picks her opponents apart with these, trying to break their defense to go for something more intensive.
- Elbows, Forearms, Punches: Often used while submissions are locked in, MARA will utilize her fists and arms to further damage opponents who otherwise may fare better while locked into her submissions.
- Leg-based attacks: Dragon Screws, Leg DDT's, stomping on limbs, utilization of the environment, and all around targeting of the leg and kneecap make up a great deal of MARA's offense, leading into one of her final killing blows. MARA is often apt to study her opponent before deciding on a strategy, waiting until the opportunity presents itself before deciding what attacks to go with.
- Leg-based submissions: MARA's toolkit for going for the legs includes, but is not limited to; Heel Hooks, Calf Slicers, Calf Crushers, Kneebars, Figure Four Leg-Locks, and a combination knee-armbar while on the side. MARA will use these to great effect, often keeping them held in for as long as she can.
- Arm-and-shoulder-based attacks: Shoulder breakers, ripcord/arm-wrench maneuvers like lariats and knees, the environment around her, and simply driving the pointed parts of her limbs into the space between the shoulderblade and arm will allow MARA to make a great deal of damage before going for a submission. As with above, she'll choose to employ these against opponents who primarily use their arms.
- Arm-and-shoulder-based submissions: MARA's toolkit for going for the arms includes, but is not limited to; Fujiwara Armbar (bridged and unbridged), Cross Armbreaker (often out of nowhere), Cattle Mutilation, Octopus Hold (sometimes grounded with boots to the head), and others. MARA will often keep these locked in for as long as she can.
- Head-and-neck-based attacks: Kicks to the face, knees, smashes into buckles and the environment, and stomps to the head and neck make up a great deal of MARA's offense toward those parts of the body. Wearing down the head and neck often causes more damage to the rest, or disorients the opponent, so MARA will often go for these regardless of the opponent's strategy.
- Head-and-neck-based submissions: Sleeper Holds, Various chokes, STF/Camel Clutch holds, Full Nelsons, and others. MARA will employ these to wear an opponent down heavily.
- Back-based attacks: Dropkicks to the spine, meteoras to the back, and other forms of backbreaker utilized as well as she can. MARA will do severe damage to an opponent's back with these moves, before going in for a killing submission or impact finisher.
- Back-based submissions: Boston Crab, Surfboard Stretch, and other submission maneuvers that target the back are used by MARA to ensure victory.
Signature Moves (3 MIN):
- La Roue - Gun Stun Cutter rolled back into a Dragon Sleeper, locked in with violent proficiency.
- La Comedie - MARA will repeatedly kick an opponent in the chest after getting them to a kneeling position, driving violent and quick shoot kicks into their ribcage and sternum, before backing up and hitting a spinning heel kick to their skull.
- Dans les Reves! - MARA will hit a Backstabber to an opponent, before rolling through and locking in a grounded Sleeper, trying desperately to remove all of the life and air from an opponent's lungs. After a prolonged period, if the opponent is still conscious, she will likely switch to a one-armed grounded sleeper and drill punches into the side of their head.
- Fille Courageuse! - After hauling an opponent up on her shoulders, MARA will hit a Torture Rack Backbreaker, before staying in place and locking the opponent in a double headlock/leglock backbreaker over her shoulders. She'll often fall to her knees and keep the opponent in place, in order to do grave damage to them.
- L'Estropiee - After grounding an opponent, MARA will proceed to smash their knee into the ground repeatedly, often attempting to force them into a compromising position, before falling into a Grapevined Ankle Lock. This often sets up for Balle D'or, or a Fin de Vie.
Finishing Moves (2 MIN):
- Fin de Vie - MARA will lock in an elevated Liontamer in the center of the ring, keeping a knee pressed into their spine and wrenching their leg back as far as possible so as to do as much damage to their back as can be done in a short window of time. If MARA is able to lock this in, a move that she's perfected over the years, it should spell the end for an opponent.
- L'Chute - Sit Out Double Underhook Facebuster, sometimes spiked, done as a set-up for Fin de Vie. Often, these two moves are done sequentially, but La Chute can also finish a match on its own. Often, MARA will not go for this pin, and head for the submission in order to cause more pain/torment.
- Balle D'or - Often delivered to an opponent who is kneeling or at a four-post, MARA gets a running start and delivers a single leg high dropkick to the back of their skull. Occasionally, she will use this as a setup for Fin de Vie, but if the opponent is out, she won't hesitate to go for a cover.
- L'Chute Mortelle - MARA goes for a Double Underhook, but instead hits a combination Butterfly Package Piledriver, spiking her opponent on their head, before transitioning into a Single Leg Boston Crab with stomps to the head. This is an ultra finisher, and will cause an opponent to pass out and take the L.
