JET 16: Shinjuku FACE, Shinjuku, Tokyo
A recap of JET 15 is first up as we see the matches held on that night with the focus going to the Biggest Dreamer Tournament. Midori Miyamoto and Stacy DeVille moving on to round two of the tournament. Along with that was the return of Ai Moe to JET since her reported injury in November as JET’s Underdog challenge “The Atomic Blonde” Candice Blair for the Academy Championship. Soon Keyakizaka46’s “Garasu Wo Ware” plays as JET is live from Shinjuku FACE. We’re back as the show is underway and the first thing we hear is “Rage of Dust” by Spyair and the crowd let out cheers. Out from the back, comes Mizuki Nakata who seems to be wearing normal clothes as she isn’t set to compete tonight.
Hanako Nakamoto: Ladies and Gentlemen, my name is Hanako Nakamoto and welcome to JET 16 as we’re live from Shinjuku FACE in Tokyo, Japan. What a way to kick our show, right Maki? We’ve got Mizuki Nakata here live to start the show.
Maki Fujioka: It’s a surprise to see Mizuki right now, she was eliminated from Biggest Dreamer Tournament in a shock win from Stacy DeVille. A tournament that Mizuki was a heavy favorite to win especially with the winner receiving a World Title shot.
Mizuki enters the ring and she is handed a microphone by JET Ring Announcer Asuka Kuramochi. There seems to be a pause from Mizuki as she looks at the crowd.
Mizuki Nakata: Cinderella Story is just over a month away and with JET’s schedule, we only have a few shows left. Ever since my debut, I’ve never missed a Cinderella Story whether I was opening the show or main evented like last year. This event means everything but this year, it seems I will be looking from the outside inwards.
Mizuki pauses one more time as she continues to speak.
Mizuki Nakata: Right now, I have no match but there still is time for me. I will make sure that I won’t miss Cinderella Story. I promise that---
Mizuki is soon interrupted by the tune of “Lydia” by Highly Suspect. There is a shock reaction from the crowd as for the first time since December’s Kyoto Spotlight event the JET fans are seeing “The Monarch” Nina Sanada. A lot of fans are excited to see the 5-time JET World Champion back as she makes her way down.
Maki Fujioka: Nina Sanada is here! It’s almost been two months since we’ve seen Nina Sanada, there were rumors that she was injured or even she had secretly retired but here she is! I wonder why Nina Sanada is here and why she is interupting Mizuki Nakata?
Sanada is handed a microphone by a young lion working at ringside as there seems to be a moment where Mizuki and Nina just stare at each other down.
Mizuki Nakata: What do you want?
Nina Sanada: Simple, the same thing you want. A match for Cinderella Story, see I realized during my two months away from JET that this place really doesn’t need the Monarch, my time really has been winding down ever since Sakura Blooming. The last JET World Championship reign, the last match against my greatest rival, and my last RISE Grand Prix. There isn’t a place for me in current JET, so I have simply I want the joy of one last match. Mizuki Nakata, I challenge you to a match that will be my last and I want you to be the opponent for my retirement match.
Crowd are shocked at the announcement of Nina’s retirement, the idea of a JET without Nina Sanada is unheard of. Mizuki stoic as ever simply nods and leaves, without saying a word The Chosen One has accepted the legends challenge.
Hanako Nakamoto: Wow, so this is it. The last of the JET Originals is retiring. Well JET fans, we’ve got another big match set for Cinderella Story. The first ever Ace of JET vs. the current Ace. Nakata vs. Sanada!
Maki Fujioka: What a start to tonight’s show and now we move to more matches involving Cinderella Story. Two Biggest Dreamer Tournament matches and 2 thirds of our Trios Champs are in action at the moment! Let’s get right to it after this commercial break!
(Commercial Break for Cinderella Story and recently announced match of Nina Sanada vs. Mizuki Nakata.)
Opening Match: Vanessa Santiago and Corrina Grey vs. Yuki Takigawa and Rio Kurokawa.
Tonight’s opening contest saw the ragtag duo of Rio Kurokawa and Yuki Takigawa take on the Blondetourage duo of Vanessa Santiago and Corrina Grey. A note was that Vanessa wasn’t just carrying her JET Trios Championship but the OWT Spirit Championship as well. To the surprise of everyone, Takigawa and Rio Kurokawa worked well as a duo and were able to take it to the champs. The end of the match came when Kurokawa pinned Santiago with a Ketsueki Toll (Bridging Dragon Suplex). Takigawa and Kurokawa just got a victory over two-thirds of JET Trios Champs.
(Winners - Rio Kurokawa and Yuki Takigawa)

Singles Match: Momoko Honda vs. Spring TORA
Momoko Honda was back in JET as the Star Warrior was taking on Dojo Young Girl, Spring TORA! The match was very much on Momo’s side as she worked to get momentum as this was her first match since Night 1 of Collision Course! The Luchadora Spring TORA was trying her best as this was a learning experience for her. The match ended after a decisive victory for Momo-chan as she pinned Spring following an Earth Quaker!
(Winner - Momoko Honda)
After the match as Spring is being helped to the back and Momoko Honda is celebrating, her theme song is interrupted by “Full Force” by RIDER CHIPS. The crowd cheers loudly as JET President Azumi Goto makes her way from the back. Of course, Azumi Goto also has her newly won OWA Women’s World Championship on her shoulder.
Maki Fujioka: Hanako-san! She’s here! Azumi Goto is back home in JET! Azumi had one of the most amazing matches recently at OWA’s Clash Of The Titans for the OWA Women’s World Championship. I wonder why she’s here?
Azumi Goto soon asks for the microphone as she begins to smile while the crowd chants her name.
Azumi Goto: Amazing match there, Momoko… I can see why there’s a lot of talk about you being the future of women’s wrestling, I would like to see that for myself though. See post-Cinderella Story, I would like to see the future stars like you and Natsu rise to the occasion and really unleash your potential but I want to know if you can really handle that. So Momo-Chan, how would you like to face me in a match at Cinderella Story? Think of it as your proving ground and show me that you can make the jump from young talent to potential JET Champ. What do you say Momoko?
Momoko doesn’t say anything but nods as she extends her hand to Azumi Goto, who gladly shakes it! Nothing is said any further by the two competitors as we cut to commercial.

(A beautiful shot of outside the Ava Family home in Los Angeles, California. Instead of the shiny sun beaming outside, we are stuck with the showers that have been going on for the last four days. However inside, we get a beautiful shot of inside the home. We see a few locations such as the kitchen, movie room and dinner table before panning to the beauty room, where Candice Blair is laying on a recliner. There are a circle of beaming and hot lights around her as the JET Academy Champion is trying to get her tan on. Candice has one some giant square shades as she is sporting a pink bikini.)
??: Candice, Candice!
(Candice Blair ignores the voice as she continues with her tan with no care in the world.)
??: Candice! Candice!
(Before you know it, there are a series of voices cutting each other trying to get their sentence in. A bunch of flashing camera lights begins going off at the same time as the Atomic Blonde is startled.)
Candice Blair: What the hell is going on?!?! Who the hell let you in? God, I need to talk to Esmeralda and Francesca to stop letting the press in!
(Candice Blair takes off her shades.)
Candice Blair: However, I’m in a good mood to help the needy, so I’ll answer a few questions (points at a female interviewer). Start this thing off.
JET Interviewer #1: Candice, you successfully retained you JET Academy Championship at Collision Course against Midori Miyamoto. People are calling it your most successful title defense to date. What are your thoughts on the match?
Candice Blair: Midori Miyamoto gave me an excellent fight. I got to give the girl props because she brought everyone to the table. She brought her A-game, but it wasn’t enough to secure this championship. People can say that Corrina Grey played a little part in this title retention, but everything I poured in the ring was all me. I went out there with the sole purpose to prove that I am the best gaijin in Joshi Extreme Takeover and in Japan. 220+ days as Academy Champion and no sign of stopping.
JET Interviewer #2: Candice, even though the spotlight was on if Collision Course would be the night where you reign ends, people cannot stop talking about what happened post-match with the return of Ai Moe —
(Candice Blair halts, almost like she is pausing the interviewer from speaking.)
Candice Blair: Oh yay! Ai Moe returned — I don’t care —
JET Interviewer #3: Well, doesn’t Ai Moe returning and going after you, worry you?
Candice Blair: Going after me? What makes her think that she is going to get another shot at this championship? She’s done nothing to deserve it. Besides, I have nothing to prove against her. I’ve defeated her. I’ve put her on the shelf. Facing me again will only cause her to have her career end.
JET Interviewer #4: Ai Moe has stated that you can’t do things without Corrina Grey and the Blondetourage by your side —
Candice Blair: Everyone loves to bring up Corrina and The Blondetourage. Get new material. We are a collective unit and when we see a target, we go after it. Ai is nothing more than an idiot who decided to return and go after the champion. She may want to rip this championship from my perfectly manicured hands as a sign of “revenge”, but she is going to be the one that ends up heartbroken in the end and I promise that. But, she wants a title shot? Not going to happen and if you go see Ai, make sure to tell her that. Bye-bye.
(In perfect timing, the Ava Family personal security surrounds the interviewers and backs them out of the room. The interviewers are trying to get more answers from the JET Academy Champion. The last glimpse is with Candice Blair getting herself situation and going back to her tan.)

Biggest Dreamer Tournament Round 1: Mitra Marvel vs. Saiko Hotaru
The crowd was excited to see the return of Mitra Marvel as the last time was when she had a match of the year candidate against Daisy Thrash at Collision Course Night 2. Tonight she was facing KAGUYA-Gun’s Killa Firefly and you can see a more determined Mitra Marvel. Her last two major matches, those being the RISE GP finals and the Lethal Angels Title match against Daisy Thrash. She was looking to lose another big opportunity and took it to Hotaru. The match ended as Marvel hit Saiko with a Chasing The Sun. Post-Match, there seems to be a smile on Mitra’s face as she is on her way to face the winner of tonight’s main event next week.
(Winner - Mitra Marvel)
A close up shot of Midori Miyamoto appears on the screen as the video package fades in. Midori is dressed in all black Nike training gear as she sits on the ring’s apron. She runs her fingers through her hair before she begins speaking.
Midori Miyamoto: Do you remember my mentor? I’ve mentioned her a few times. Her name is Merlot Ayano. Merlot is, well, sometimes she’s more of a humanitarian than a wrestler. No matter what, she tries to see the good in people. When they mess up, she forgives them. And when they mess up royally? She gives them even more chances. She lets it all wash away.
There’s a pause as Midori’s eyes peer down at the floor for just a moment.
Midori Miyamoto: I admire that about her…
She lifts eyes back up and gazes into the camera.
Midori Miyamoto: Maybe I’ve got a lot more to learn from her. Because personally? I don’t just let everything wash away; I remember the stuff that happens to me. Do I try to see the good in people? Yeah. But I also believe in giving others the same energy that they give you.
Midori pauses to gather her thoughts.
Midori Miyamoto: My first in-ring encounter with Stacy DeVille was during the RISE Grand Prix. I was trying to gain some early momentum in the tournament. And so, I really wanted to win. But, I didn’t. Stacy beat me that night. That match hurt, I won’t lie. It didn’t hurt because Stacy was the one pinning me; it hurt because it meant that my chances of winning the block took a hit. I didn’t hold any ill will towards her, though. She beat me fair and square. She didn’t cheat. And she was cordial and classy afterwards. I respected that. And considering what I’ve dealt with in Joshi Extreme Takeover, there wasn’t much more that I could have asked for…
Another pause.
Midori Miyamoto: And then she changed.
Midori leans and allows her back to the touch the ropes. She bring her right foot up onto the apron and puts her hands on her knee.
Midori Miyamoto: After the RISE Grand Prix was said and done, I went on Twitter do some self-promotion. Despite my rocky start in the tournament, I finished strong. I didn’t do as well as I wanted, but I was proud of what I’d accomplished. And, I wanted to let the world know. I ended up defeating Candice Blair in one of the later rounds. Stacy had beaten Candice too, early on.
She nods her head.
Midori Miyamoto: Stacy was awarded a championship match for beating Candice. I argued that I deserved one too. I don’t think that was rude. I don’t think that was out of line. We both accomplished the same feat on the very first try. And of course, Stacy would be awarded her shot first, since she pinned Candice first…
A second passes before she speaks.
Midori Miyamoto: But for whatever reason, Stacy took exception to that.
She shakes her head.
Midori Miyamoto: No one was knocking her. No one was attacking her. And yet, she took time out of her day to try and put me down. Maybe she was fearful. Maybe pressures outside of JET were getting to her. Maybe she just had a bad breakfast. I don’t know. And, I don’t really care at this point.
Midori clears her throat.
Midori Miyamoto: What I do know is, she acted as if my win meant nothing. She acted as if I didn’t earn anything. I remembered that. I especially remembered it when you attempted to engage in pleasantries last week on Twitter.
There’s a tiny pause before she speaks again.
Midori Miyamoto: I told you before that I don’t hold my tongue; I haven’t since I was young. So believe me when I tell you that we may be on cordial terms, but we aren’t on pleasant terms.
Midori runs her fingers through hair once more as she thinks about what she wants to say next.
Midori Miyamoto: You’ve done a lot of great things in professional wrestling, Stacy. You’ve had an awesome career. You’ve opened up one of most notable wrestling promotions to date. You’ve provided women with amazing platform for women to showcase their talent in the ring…However, when a young woman was trying to uplift herself and fight for just due, you allowed your ego to degrade her.
A bit of silence passes before she speaks again.
Midori Miyamoto: But believe it or not, Stacy, I’m not looking for retribution. I’m not here to punish you. This match will not be your penance. However, when we step into that ring together very soon, I’ll have every intention of defeating you. Know that.
She cracks the knuckles in her right hand.
Midori Miyamoto: I’ve been disrespected since the first day I stepped foot into this company. I’ve gotten attacked. I’ve gotten beat down. I’ve had opportunity after opportunity stolen away from me. If you need proof, look at how the self-proclaimed “Ace of JET” needed her friend’s help in order to beat me.
She shakes her head.
Midori Miyamoto: I’m tired of it. I’m sick and tired of it all. And that’s why I don’t plan on letting the Biggest Dreamers Tournament pass me by.
Midori continues to peer at the camera.
Midori Miyamoto: You can punch me. You can kick me. You can slander my name. But I’m a fighter. I’ve proven that time and time again in JET. And that’s something none of you can take away. You might wound me, but you’ll never break my spirit. And I’m going to keep fighting until I get my due.
She nods her head slowly.
Midori Miyamoto: Cinderella Story….
Her words trail off as the picture fades out. We soon cut off to ringside as it’s time for the main event.
Main Event/Biggest Dreamer Tournament Rd 1: Natsu Toyama vs. Rei Kagura
Tonight’s main event saw two respective young stars competing for the last spot in the semi-finals. Natsu Toyama coming off her loss at Collision Course and Rei Kagura who is the last KAGUYA-Gun member left in the tournament thanks to Saiko Hotaru’s loss earlier in the night. Last time these two were in a match against one another, Rei Kagura was able to pin Natsu in the main event of the last show. Rei had the advantage in the early going thanks to some cheap tactics, she was able to start working on the back of Natsu and targetting it. Toyama had the Tokyo crowd on her side as they cheered her on, soon Natsu was able to get some offense and the match was turning in her favor, Rei was hit the whole big arsenal of Natsu ranging from the Spear of Destiny and Nippon Driver before Toyama put away “The Definition of Sexy” with a Final Showdown Lariat (wristlock lariat).
(Winner - Natsu Toyama)
Natsu is celebrating her win as the crowd is excited for her, she is able to hold back her emotions as out from the back comes Mitra Marvel to cheers from the Shinjuku FACE crowd. Mitra enters the ring and there is a moment of both women staring down, not a word is said as soon the Sailor Sun extends her hand to Natsu. A sign of respect by both women as the show ends with the two of them looking at each other as the JET and IJWF logo pop up and the camera fades to black.
