JET 22: LIVE from Differ Ariake in Tokyo, Japan!
(Recap of JET21 as the final Round 1 matches were on display as Takigawa and Hasegawa defeated Tori De Vil and Stacy DeVille meanwhile Natsu Toyama and Momoko Honda defeated Rei Kagura and Hanna Rockford. Wolfegang Symphony and Kurokawa and Hirate announced their intentions to win the JET World Tag Team Championship. The final clip is the JET 21 main event that never got going as KAGUYA and Julia Zhang broke into a brawl with their rivals. The fighting between the faces and KAGUYA-Gun was forced to break up as the final shot is off World Champion and challenger threatening each other.)
(“Reimei” by Sayuri and MFS plays as for the first time in a long while, JET is in the Differ Ariake for JET 22. We cut to the commentary team ready to go for tonight’s show.)
Maki Fujioka: This is it! The go home show for JET as we are on the final roadblock before Lethal Takeover in Kobe World! I’m Maki Fujioka and as always, I’m calling the action alongside my partner Asuka Kuromachi.
Asuka Kuromachi: What a stacked card of matches! Three Tournament matches included as by the end of the night, we will know who will face Rio Kurokawa and Tomoyo Hirate at Lethal Takeover to crown the new JET World Tag Team Champions. But first, we have a the big contract signing between Midori Miyamoto and KAGUYA for the MAIN EVENT of Lethal Takeover!
(We cut to the ring as JET General Manager Yoko Kudo is already in the ring with two chairs and a table for tonight’s contract signing. Soon “Ashes” by Lynch plays as Midori Miyamoto makes her way out to the ring, the crowd in attendance cheering and chanting her name. There’s a smirk on the face of the challenger as she enters the ring.)
Maki Fujioka: Midori Miyamoto has had quite a long road to the JET World Championship, debuting last year in June. She became one-third of the inaugural JET Trios Champions alongside Mizuki Nakata and Ai Moe, competed in her first RISE Grand Prix, JET Academy Title opportunity and finally winning the Biggest Dreamer Tournament at Cinderella Story. She has the best chance out of anyone on the current roster to defeat KAGUYA and get the JET World Title in the possession of JET.
(As Midori waits in the ring, the music changes to “Holy War 21” and you can hear the negative reception for KAGUYA, she simply is not loved in JET but it seems the champ doesn’t care as she walks out with the JET World TItle on her shoulder. She enters the ring and takes off her aviators to look at her challenger.
Asuka Kuromachi: KAGUYA on the other hand has been JET World Champion since Kyoto Spotlight in December. A reign that has lasted 152 days and counting with two successful defenses against the likes of Tomoyo Hirate and Rio Kurokawa. The Black-Heart General has been nearly untouchable in singles matches, being able to showcase why she is the champ at the moment but in front of her is her biggest challenge.
(“Holy War 21” dies down as Yoko Kudo picks up the microphone. Midori Miyamoto is simply glaring down her Lethal Takeover opponent who begins to talk. Another negative reception of boos from the audience in Differ Ariake.)
Yoko Kudo: Let’s make this clear right now! You two are not gonna lay a hand on each other until Lethal Takeover, I’m not taking a risk with the main event from the show two weeks ago breaking down into a brawl. So consider this as the only chance I’m gonna give. Anything, even if you two decide to poke each other or crap like that, I will have both of you suspended on the spot. You have to wait till the 19th to kill each other, now say whatever you want and sign this contract.
(KAGUYA smirks as she picks up the microphone and begins to talk.)
KAGUYA: Midori Miyamoto, you seem not be in a talkative mood so I’ll ask you something. Do you know how many people that this company considered it’s future I have defeated? Two. Tomoyo Hirate, a young girl trained by this company’s owner and CEO. She reminds me of you, Midori. Both of you act stoic, angry young woman kind of crap always spews out of your mouth just like her. And what happened, Tomoyo was defeated. She failed. This company then threw the RISE Grand Prix winner at me, Kimiko Hayabusa! Again like you and Tomoyo, she was talented but also like you, she was defeated by me. Another failed to save this title from my clutches. For 152 days this title has been my property! I own this piece of gold meanwhile nobody in this company has come close to take this away from me. What makes you think you of all people can defeat me and rescue this title? You have till the 18th to prepare. Maybe you can even invite your loved ones and let them see you fail with this title on the line.
(Midori hasn’t stopped glaring at her opponent as picks up the mic now.)
Midori: I’m guessing you’re done now right KAGUYA? It seems like with every passing supershow, your ego tends to get bigger and bigger. You really like to talk about yourself huh? KAGUYA I don’t care about anything you say. Everything you tried hasn’t worked at all. You tried intimidating me, I fought back! You tried to attack me from behind in that brawl, I fought back! KAGUYA everything you have tried since Cinderella Story hasn’t worked at all. Here I stand still unwavering in my goal of becoming JET World Champion. It’s been almost a year since I have arrived in JET, there has been this constant in my career. KAGUYA-Gun! It was you, Saiko and JUNKO who intervened in my debut. It was you who defeated me in my first PPV match but ever since then I have had your number and your group’s number. That won’t change when we get to Lethal Takeover. You’ve only got a few days, KAGUYA. Your entire world crashes down along with that faction of yours!
(Midori signs the contract as KAGUYA lets out a laugh.)
KAGUYA: You just signed the contract to your death.
(KAGUYA now signs the contract as she raises her title afterward. “Holy War 21” plays one more time as tension between Champion and Challenger can be cut with a knife at this point. We cut to commercial as the final shot before the break.)
(Commercial Break featuring the upcoming JET Supershow post-Lethal Takeover. Sakura Blooming 2019 in Yokohama Bunka Gym!)
(JET returns from commercial as it is time for our first semi-final of the evening.)
Opening Match/JET Tag Title Semi Final #1: Wolfegang Symphony (Vivina Wolfe and Bethany Sharpe) vs. Machiko Hasegawa and Yuki Takigawa
Tonight’s opening match saw Wolfegang against Hasegawa and Takigawa! The match began in the favor of Yuki and Machiko as the former JET World Champion Yuki Takigawa is able to attack Wolfe’s chest with brute shoot kicks. It seems to be going well but after a tag to Machiko, Wolfegang are able to take advantage of Hasegawa’s inexperience after Yuki starting strong for her team. Machiko has her knee taken out from underneath her Bethany Sharpe and now like Sharks begin to take out her knee, striking it with elbows, stomps and double team moves. Takigawa is helpless to watch as Wolfegang Symphony continue to work on Machiko’s knee. “The New Burning Spirit” continues to show her resiliency and is able to get to Takigawa for a hot tag and the former JET World Champion is on fire! Takigawa with relentless kicks as she took on both members of the opposing team! Big time thrust kick from Takigawa to Sharpe! Machiko wants to be tag, telling her partner that she’s fine. Machiko is in and immediately attempts a Crucifix Variant of the “Machiko Bomb” but Sharpe is able to escape the crucifix and get behind Machiko before kicking her down by targeting her knee! Sharpe is able to end the match afterwards hitting a B-Flat to Machiko and Wolfegang Symphony moves on to finals later tonight!
(Winners - Wolfegang Symphony in 12:10 via B-Flat!)
(As Wolfegang head to the back and celebrate, Takigawa is checking on her teammate who is still in the ring and in pain. As Machiko slowly rises with the help of the young girls, she apologizes with Yuki that it’s her lost they lost. Takigawa doesn’t mind as the two of them make their way to the entrance way where they bow to positive reaction.)
(Short 3 minute intermission)
(After a short break we are back with the next semi-final of the evening. Natsu Toyama and Momoko Honda vs. The Blondetourage!)
Second Match/JET Tag Title Tournament Semi-Finals: Natsu Toyama and Momoko Honda vs. The Blondetourage (Candice Blair and Vanessa Santiago)
The second match kicks off in a similar way to the first, Momoko Honda having the early advantage and firing shoot kicks with Vanessa Santiago who responds with some of her own. Both women are going at it with strikes as the crowd are immediately into it! Momoko is soon attack from behind as Candice in the back as she was running the ropes closest to The Blondetourage corner! Santiago now takes advantage with a Uranage. Blondetourage are clearly in control as they target the limbs of Momo to weaken her striking power. Natsu and the crowd cheer on Momoko to make the tag and she is able to do so after Candice dodges a Candy Kick and hit the former Academy Champ with the Dance Of Many Stars! The full combination connects as Natsu is able to get in but so does Vanessa Santiago! Both women are throwing strikes at one another with neither going down. After a sequence of strikes and much more, Natsu is able to hit Santiago with the Final Answer! The Double Hammerlock German is able to seal the win for Natsu and Momoko!
(Winners - Natsu Toyama and Momoko Honda in 11:47 via The Final Answer)
(As Natsu and Momoko are celebrating, the two of them are attacked from behind by Wolfegang Symphony! Sharpe and Wolfe assault Momoko and Natsu as they target on the right leg of Momoko, the same one that was worked on by Blondetourage during the match. A team of ringside worker lead by GM Yoko Kudo are brought out to stop Wolfegang Symphony. Sharpe and Wolfe back away but they have a smile on their faces as they probably just sealed their trip to Lethal Takeover with this attack. The camera soon cuts to commercial as we have the final shot of Natsu and Momoko being helped to their feet.)
(Commercial Break promoting Lethal Takeover 2019 in Kobe World Memorial Hall on the 19th of May!)
(We return from commercial and “Make my Story” plays and out from the back, IZM makes her entrance to a cheering Differ Ariake crowd meanwhile her opponent is already in the ring. JET Young Girl Luchadora, Spring TORA.)
Third Match/Singles Match: IZM vs. Spring TORA
The match is clearly in IZM’s favor right from the beginning as she gets a chance to showcase her skills againsts a much younger and inexperienced opponents. Spring is giving her all but IZM is able to out muscle her and seal a quick win following a barrage of high impact moves. Jade-Plex followed by a Kami Driver gets IZM her first win in JET!
(Winner - IZM in 4:17 via Kami Driver!)
(After celebrating her win, IZM heads to the backstage interview area where she is met by Yoko Kudo who informs her about a match she has set up for Lethal Takeover. IZM will face Machiko Hasegawa and Amy Slayton in a three way match that is being dubbed as JET “Rookie Showcase”. IZM seems to be happy to hear that as she tells Yoko Kudo that she will do her best!)
(We soon cut back to the ring as both teams for the next match make their entrances one after another. There seems to be a tense staredown between Mizuki Nakata and Mitra Marvel before they are pulled back by their teammates.)
Fourth Match/Six-Women Tag Match: Mitra Marvel, Tori De Vil, and Amy Slayton vs. Mizuki Nakata, Saya Okita and Sora Todoh
The match began with Sora Todoh and Tori De Vil, the young star was able to take the early advantage and use her quickness to her advantage, being able to out pace Tori. This changed after Tori was able to land a big time roundhouse that puts Sora down. From that point it was all Team Mitra as they worked on Sora throughout the match. After a few minutes, Sora is able to get a hot tag in to Mizuki who is fired up and goes into a battle of forearms with her Lethal Takeover opponent! Both women give it their all as soon Mitra ducks a forearm and hits Mizuki with a Golden Hour big boot! Nakata is sent into her corner as Saya Okita blind tags herself in without Mitra knowing! Mitra is focused on Mizuki that she doesn’t notice Okita from behind hitting her with a dropkick! The JET Young Girl gives it her all but after one more Golden Hour Big Boot, Mitra ends the Young Girl’s valiant effort with a Solar Flare!
(Winners - Mitra Marvel, Tori De Vil, and Amy Slayton in 12:33 via Solar Flare)
(As Team Mitra celebrate, we see Mizuki check on her partner before looking right at Mitra. There seems to be a sign of respect from the Chosen One as she extends her hand to Mitra Marvel who accepts only to be pulled in by the Ace. The final shot before commercial is of both women, they have an important match coming up and they both know this.)
(Commercial Break for Lethal Angels Wrestling next big event after Lethal Takeover dubbed Homecoming! Live from Inglewood, California on June 23rd!)
(We return to ringside for tonight’s next match before that, we get a quick video package for the Ai Moe and Julia Zhang match.)
Semi-Main/Six-Women Tag Match: Ai Moe, Tomoyo Hirate and Rio Kurokawa vs. KAGUYA-Gun (Rei Kagura and Julia Zhang) and Hanna Rockford
With their title match set in stone, Ai Moe and Julia Zhang took no time getting into one another. An early exchange between champion and challenger was what kicked us off. There was definitely some bad blood between the two thanks to everything Julia has done and said. Even though they were the main focus during the match, the finish didn’t involve them at all but it was a total car crash near the end multiple signatures manuevers from each team. The match ended soon as Rio Kurokawa hit Rei Kagura with a Ketsuiki Toll!
(Winners - Rio Kurokawa, Ai Moe, and Tomoyo Hirate in 10:32 via Ketsuiki Toll)
(After celebrating in the ring, we head backstage to where Rio Kurokawa and Tomoyo Hirate are being interviewed. They are asked who they would like to face at Lethal Takeover and it seems that the two don’t have a personal preference but after seeing what Wolfegang Symphony did to their former Trios Champ partner Natsu, they would want them to get what’s coming.)
(A video package showcasing the highlights of the tournament plays and all the teams involved in the tournament. Soon it finishes and both teams make their entrance, a thing to note is Momoko Honda’s taping underneath her kneepad.)
Main Event/JET Tag Title Tournament Finals: Wolfegang Symphony (Bethany Sharpe and Vivina Wolfe) vs. Natsu Toyama and Momoko Honda
The match began with Natsu starting off, wanting her partner to not be attacked early meanwhile Bethany Sharpe was starting off for Wolfegang Symphony. The match early on was all Natsu Toyama as she attacked Bethany from the get go with forearms. Momoko was soon tag in from her request even though she was hurt. Honda was on fire with forearms and using her left leg to hit chest kicks to avoid hurting her right leg. Unfortunately the always planning Wolfegang were able to get the advantage as Sharpe caughted Momoko’s left leg and sweeped her right leg causing the Star Warrior to feel some pain. Wolfegang immediately get to work, attacking the right leg of Momoko Honda. They seem to have come with a plan and try to break down Momoko but the always resilient Star Warrior stayed in this match. Momoko was able to counter one of Vivina Wolfe’s Wolfe Pack Kicks with a Dragon Screw as Momoko saw this chance to get a tag to her partner! Natsu Toyama is in with a hot tag and gets a great sequence of manuevers going! Forearm, rolling elbows and kicks along with anything else against Bethany Sharpe. Natsu was on fire as she landed a Slingblade and Momoko wanted to be tagged in but Natsu persisted that she didn’t come into the match after having her leg worked on. In the end Bethany Sharpe took advantage of the two partners talking with one another to hit Natsu Toyama with the Counterpoint! The Standing Shiranui landed and Wolfe without Honda noticing pulled her down and hit her with Cryin’ Wolfe!
Sharpe and Wolfe signalled the end as they were able to end the match with a Massacre In B-Major! Wolfegang Symphony are going to Lethal Takeover!
(Winners - Wolfegang Symphony in 19:37 via Massacre In B-Major!)
(Wolfegang have done it! After three hellacious matches, they are going to Lethal Takeover to compete for the JET World Tag Team Championship! Natsu and Momoko are helped to the back as they are met by Rio Kurokawa and Tomoyo Hirate who seem impressed by them. The two of them enter the ring to confront Wolfegang Symphony as for the first time this tour, they square up and JET22 ends with all four of them in the ring.)
