JET 23: LIVE from Kuki City Gym in Saitama
(A recap of the entirety of Lethal Takeover starts our broadcast focusing on the big wins of Rio Kurokawa, Tomoyo Hirate and Midori Miyamoto, winning their respective championships. The final shot of the video recap is Midori Miyamoto hugging Mizuki Nakata and Ai Moe as she has her championship raised in the air. “Reimei” by Sayuri and My First Story plays as we cut to the Kuki City Gymnasium where the commentators are ready to go with a packed crowd tonight for JET.)
Maki Fujioka: After what was an amazing evening of women’s wrestling in Kobe for Lethal Takeover, we are now on the road to Sakura Blooming! Hello everyone, I’m Maki Fujioka and I’m joined as always by my commentary partner, Asuka Kuramochi.
Asuka Kuramochi: Who else did you expect? What a show Lethal Takeover turned out to be but now it’s time to focus on next tour. Sakura Blooming on June 29th! Speaking of that, GM Yoko Kudo has announcement tonight! Let’s take it to ringside!
(We cut to ringside as soon “Reimei” plays once more for the arrival of JET General Manager Yoko Kudo who has a smile on her face. She soon enters the ring and is handed a mic by the ringside workers. The music soon dies down as the JET GM begins to speak.)
Yoko Kudo: What a night we had for Lethal Takeover? JET and LAW were the talk of the industry with how amazing every match was but there was one thing we need to talk about and that is who is the number 1 contender for JET World Champion. Unfortunately at Lethal Takeover, we didn’t end up with a clear contender for the JET World Champion. Midori promised that if she was to win, that JET would have a fighting champion. So why not put that on display, Midori. I know you are preparing for your match tonight, so I want to let you know that your opponent or should I say opponents for Sakura Blooming are going to be Mizuki Nakata and Mitra Marvel. Best of luck Miss Miyamoto!
Yoko Kudo: Onto the next piece of news, Amy Slayton at Lethal Takeover seems to have gone and made herself the new challenger for the Academy Championship? Well I think the champion, Ai Moe didn’t mind that at all. So I think we’ve got the Academy Championship match for Sakura Blooming 2019 set. Ai Moe vs. Amy Slayton. I think that is all for me, As usual, I hope you all enjoy the show we have in store for you today.
(“Reimei” plays one more time as the Yoko Kudo soon takes her leave meanwhile the camera cuts to Asuka and Maki, both of whom are excited about the announcement.)
Asuka Kuramochi: What an announcement, Maki-san! Two major title matches for Sakura Blooming in Yokohama are set with Midori Miyamoto’s first challenge as champion being Mizuki Nakata and Mitra Marvel in triple threat match!
Maki Fujioka: And not only that but an amazing Academy Championship match set up between Ai Moe and Amy Slayton. All five women we just talked about are in action later tonight in the main event, I can’t wait for that but now we have our opening contest coming up.
(The ringside crew set for tonight’s first match of the evening.)
[INTERMISSION]
Opening Match/Singles Match: Machiko Hasegawa vs. Amalia Martinez
Tonight’s opening contest saw Machiko Hasegawa take on JET Young Girl and everyone’s favorite half-Japanese and half-mexican, Amalia Martinez. Hasegawa coming off her loss in the triple threat at Lethal Takeover looked to rebound. Unfortunately Amalia took the full force of Machiko’s explosive offense. The match coming to close quickly after a massive Hasegawa Lariat nearly turned Amalia inside-out. Machiko with a big rebound against a young girl as the new Burning Spirit is on the right track towards a bright career.
(Winner - Machiko Hasegawa)
(POST MATCH: As Machiko returned backstage, she talked about something important eating away at her ever since Lethal Takeover. When IZM’s name was mentioned in her interview, she immediately refrained from answering the question.)
(We return to ringside for the next match of tonight’s show.)
Singles Match: Vanessa Santiago vs. IZM
Tonight’s next match saw IZM, another competitor who fell short in picking up a huge win at Lethal Takeover was up next as she took now former Blondetourage member and former Trios Champion, Vanessa Santiago. With the recent departure of her best friend and stablemate, Santiago was on her own. IZM on the other hand was looking to get back to her winning track. Unfortunately tonight was not the night for IZM as current OWT Spirit Champion was completely focused on the challenge ahead of her. Santiago worked on the arm for most of the match, IZM was able to fight back near the end but her valiant effort was for naught as when she attempted a power move, the damage to her right arm was troubling her and immediately Santiago took advantage with a Cuban Missile Crisis. Santiago with a huge win as she now goes on this singles wrestling path here in JET.
(Winner - Vanessa Santiago)
(POST MATCH: With the help of translator, Vanessa was able to get her interview done. She talked about that this long for her but La Dictadora will soon be on the path to the top of JET. Everyone should watch out! Meanwhile for IZM’s interview nothing much was said but something to note was Machiko watching from outside of everyone’s view.)
[INTERMISSION TO PROMOTE LAW AND JET NEXT SUPERSHOW RESPECTIVELY]
(We return to ringside now as both respective teams have made their entrance.)
JET Tag Team Championship Match: Rio Kurokawa and Tomoyo Hirate vs. Rei Kagura and Hanna Rockford
Kurokawa and Hirate’s first challenge as champion in the form of KAGUYA-Gun member, Rei Kagura and Hanna Rockford. The champions seemed up for the challenge as both Hirate and Kurokawa were able to take it to their challengers as the champs. Rei and Hanna of course used dirty tactics to get the win, Kagura was almost able to steal a win with a roll up where she had a hold of Rio’s tights. Unfortunately that was a disaster for Kagura who seems to have pissed off Kurokawa. From here until the end of the match, it was all Rio Kurokawa and Tomoyo Hirate. The Osaka Beauty was in a world of pain as the match ended with an Epsilon Tract from Tomoyo, sealing the deal and making sure that she and Kurokawa got past their first defense on a successful note.
(Winners - Rio Kurokawa and Tomoyo Hirate.)
(POST-MATCH: In their post-match interview, Kurokawa and Hirate said they wanted bigger challengers for their tag team championship to the point that were challenging anyone, whether they are from JET, LAW or any other of the IJWF Promotions.)
(After the interview we get a video package, the video is showing highlights of the amazing match between Midori Miyamoto and KAGUYA that main evented Lethal Takeover, a focus on the end of the match as KAGUYA attempted a Punt Kick but Midori was able to dodge it and land a massive Shattercryst to secure the win and the JET World CHampionship. The camera returns to ringside as it is now time for the main event of the evening. The former and inaugural Trios Champions reuniting for a one night only match to face off against Mitra Marvel, Amy Slayton and Tori De Vil.)
MAIN EVENT/Six-Woman Tag Match: Mitra Marvel, Tori De Vil and Amy Slayton vs. Midori Miyamoto, Mizuki Nakata and Ai Moe.
Even with the announcement that they will be facing one another at Sakura Blooming, there was no animosity between Midori and Mizuki. The two of them knew that they would still be friends and this match is just for the World Championship. The match began with Tori De Vil and Ai Moe. De Vil was able to keep the early stages of this match under her team’s control, grounding the Academy Champion and rotating between herself and her partners. Luckily, Ai was able to get out and get a tag to Mizuki. The Chosen One was on fire as she took it to all three members of her team. Unfortunately for Nakata, Mitra Marvel was able to turn it around for her team but before anything can continue, Midori tagged herself in much to the confusion of Mizuki.
The two of them bickered as Mizuki wasn’t happy. Meanwhile this gave Mitra a chance to tag in Tori De Vil. For the first time since winning the JET World Champion, Midori Miyamoto was getting a bit of ring time. Tori De Vil took to the champion and even got a nearfall with her signature Bittersweet Kick that almost got the crowd in shock. The Hybrid Dragon was soon able to rebound as she hit the BURNING combination on Tori De Vil before sealing the deal with a Shattercryst after a long 20 minute main event!
(Winners - Midori Miyamoto, Mizuki Nakata and Ai Moe)
(As “Ashes” by Lynch played in the background, Mitra Marvel and Amy Slayton helped their downed partner to the back while Midori, Mizuki and Ai Moe celebrated together like old times. But soon the happy mood turned into a serious one as Mizuki turned to face the world champion and without saying a word, told Miyamoto that she was coming for the JET world champion. The final shot of JET is both women looking at one another as Midori raises her World Title in the air.)
