An announcement was soon made that Cinderella Story will be the last JET show for a month as April will be a period of time off to recover from this past season and to stay safe. Along with that was the announcement that there won’t be any press conferences for this show due to the COVID-19 outbreaks. Along with that was the announcement of another major match for Cinderella Story and that was a battle royal match with the winner getting the first crack at the Academy Championship after Cinderella Story.
The opening segment ended with another thank you from Kudo and Nakamoto as this transitioned into our first match of the show.
Singles Match:
Chloe DuPont vs. Saya Okita
After scheduling conflicts, Chloe DuPont makes her official debut against JET Young Girl Saya Okita. It was all DuPont during the match as she was able to showcase her talent during the match, Okita almost was able to seal the win with a roll-up but DuPont kicked out and immediately ended the match with a simple City Of Lights DDT.
(Winner - Chloe DuPont)
(A member of commentary playing interviewer is seen pretaped backstage. She smiles as the twin pair joins her in their oni entrance garbs and masks show up, with pink Narumi skipping into view followed by blue Masumi walking with purpose.)
Interviewer: Oh wow, such a colourful pair, umm, I’ve been meaning to ask, shouldn’t you be red Narumi-san? That’s sort of how the fabled blue and red oni theme goes...
Narumi: Pink, more fashionabluh!
(The interviewer looks at Masumi, but Masumi just shakes her head to tell her not to try reasoning with Narumi. When she turns her head back Narumi lightly taps her on the forehead.)
Narumi: Onigokko! You’re it!
(The interviewer gets dragged into Narumi’s infectious antics and starts tapping her back in a game of tag, laughing with each other as they keep saying the other is it. Eventually, Masumi walks into the middle of them and the interviewer blushes.)
Interviewer: Sorry Masumi-san! I-I am so glad to have you two! Masumi-san, you’ve been doing so well as a JET Youth! Now that you’ve been here for a while, what do you think of JET?
Narumi: Masumi-san loves it here! The people are so nice and sweet! The elders, and our friend Makiya-san cheering us on in this tournament! Masumi is proud to have the chance to live up to the big dream, to be the first JET National Champion!
(Masumi nods in agreement. Then Narumi tags Masumi.)
Narumi: Now you’re it! You have IT! Masumi is the star! Strong as oni! Like hulk! Amy Slayton? MASUMI SMASH! (Narumi saying that last part in English.)
(Masumi calms Narumi down a bit and grabs the microphone.)
Masumi: Slayton is not the only one who is proud of her family. My baby cousin, Jaydayne carried our blood to the top of Japan, but I will bring honor to the name Tsutsumi!
(The 5 dan practitioner allows her words to hang in the air for a moment, then does a small bow to the interviewer, and makes her leave as Narumi excitedly follows.)
Six-Women Tag Team Match:
Sora Todoh, Mitra Marvel, and Chloe Eastend vs. KAGUYA-Gun (Q, JUNKO, and KAGUYA)
Familiar foes meet again as Sora Todoh led her team of herself, Mitra and Eastend against the KAGUYA-Gun trio of JUNKO, Q, and KAGUYA herself. It was Sora and KAGUYA who started off this match and continued from their amazing bout at Sendai Spotlight. Unfortunately for Team Sora, the match was all KAGUYA-Gun as they took advantage of their tactics to seal Mitra Marvel away from her team. It was all great till the KAGUYA-Gun cockiness went wrong and Mitra was able to get a hot tag to Chloe Eastend, the Vancouver native was on fire during the match. She was almost able to end the match for KAGUYA-Gun and co. but again using dirty tactics, KAGUYA-Gun is able to get the win with Q successfully hitting Sora with Q’s Landing!
(Winner - KAGUYA, JUNKO, and Q)
POST-MATCH:
It seems that KAGUYA-Gun isn’t done with Sora Todoh and more importantly KAGUYA and JUNKO aren’t done as they want to send a message to Cloud and Tarah. JUNKO without any mercy hits a kneeling Sora with a Shadow Flash before KAGUYA gets ready to punt Sora’s head off!
Just as she attempts to rush Sora is saved by…. STEPHANIE MATSUDA! Her mentor is here at Korakuen Hall and is able to save her from this attack! She soon jumps KAGUYA and a three-on-one brawl ensues!! it seems that backup arrives in the form of Ai Moe and Tomoyo who fight off JUNKO and Q! KAGUYA and co. are in retreat as Stephanie looks furious. She soon asks for a microphone and screams that KAGUYA has been crossing the line ever since she has returned to JET two years ago and since nobody has been able to put her down for good, it’s going to be her job as JET Co-Chairwoman to do just that!
KAGUYA looks unfazed as she even flips off Stephanie while retreating with her allies. Stephanie meanwhile checks on Sora who seems to be hurt.
Footage from a pre-recorded interview session is shown. The Joshi Extreme Takeover World Champion, Midori Miyamoto, sits opposite of Maki Fujioka. Ms. Fujioka thanks Midori for joining her before she begins to ask a series of questions. Maki lets it be known that Midori has held the JET World Championship for nearly three hundred days. And the general consensus is that she’s had an incredible reign. Maki then asks Midori how she feels about that.
Midori Miyamoto: Hmm. That’s a difficult question for me to answer, but I’ll give it my best shot.
Midori leans back in her chair.
Midori Miyamoto: Generally speaking, I’m very proud. This is my first world championship reign. And sometimes that first reign can be tough. It can be taxing. But mine really hasn’t been. It’s been challenging, sure. I’ve defended the championship against a bunch of talented wrestlers. However, there have been very few shenanigans while I’ve been at the helm. Because of that, my experience has been favorable. At the same time though, there are things I could have done that would have made this reign even more grand. One thing that comes to mind is that cross-over match with OWA and LAW. My participation alone brought new eyes to JET, however, winning it would have made an even larger statement. But that loss was on me. I wasn’t pinned, but it was a match that I could have pulled out.
She snaps her fingers.
Midori Miyamoto: But overall, I’m just happy that I’ve been a champion that the people of JET can actually believe in.
Maki nods her head and moves onto the next question. Ms. Fujioka then says that many champions in Midori’s position would usually start to become a little complacent. Nonetheless, Midori has not. Maki says that it seems as if Midori is working harder than ever. She brings up Midori’s intense training, along with her ventures over at In Your House Wrestling Federation. Afterwards, Maki asks Midori what motivates her.
Midori Miyamoto: Oddly enough, one of the things that motivates me is the fear of becoming complacent. Why? Because complacency leads to stagnation; complacency leads to death. Sometimes it’s a physical death, other times is the death of one's career. Because of that, I’m always working hard to try and grow. Growth is life. And I’d rather choose life than death.
Lastly, Ms. Fujioka asks Midori what this upcoming match against Mizuki means to her.
Midori Miyamoto: Mizuki is the Ace of the company. No one can take that away from her, not even me. But the fact of the matter is, the past year hasn’t been about Mizuki. No―I was the lead actress. I fought my way through the Biggest Dreamer Tournament and earned an opportunity for the JET World Championship. I challenged KAGUYA and finally ended her reign of terror. I’ve defended the championship with honor. I’ve held it with pride. No matter what has come my way, I’ve face it head on. That’s something I think Mizuki should be proud of. And I thought she was at one point in time. However, then I’d her speak on the microphone and in interviews. I didn’t hear pride in her voice. It didn’t seem like she was happy for her friend and tag team partner. Instead, I got the impression that she wished I’d never succeeded.
There’s a small pause.
Midori Miyamoto: Mizuki saw something in me when I debted here. She told me I’d become great. And now? She’s going to realize how true she really was. Mizuki got a little taste when she and Mitra challenged me many months ago. But this time? It’s one-on-one. No outsiders. No distractions.
Midori nods her head.
Midori Miyamoto: Mizuki? Maybe when this match is over, we and work on our friendship even more. But when that bell rings? Well, you’re going to see why I’m the champion.
With that, the picture fades out.
Singles Match:
Natsu Toyama vs. Vivina Wolfe w/Bethany Sharpe
With her tag partner and mentor, Azumi Goto still busy with her commitments in OWA, Natsu Toyama was all alone in her match against Vivina Wolfe. Similar to the match before this, Vivina with the help of Sharpe was able to get the advantage during the match using dirty tactics. Wolfe specifically targets the arm of Natsu and broke it down with stomps and knee drops. At the same time, Wolfe decided to taunt Natsu that Azumi isn’t here to support her, Toyama is able to make a fiery comeback and almost scored the win for herself but Sharpe again played a major factor with her partner’s help, Wolfe was able to get the win with a Whitechapel Massacre!
(Winner - Vivina Wolfe)
POST-MATCH:
Natsu was hurt as she was holding her arm in pain while Wolfe and Sharpe decided to break it down even further, they targetted away at her right arm that was damaged during the match. They continued till Hanako Nakamoto and Yoko Kudo had to make their presence known. The medical team checks up on Toyama while Wolfegang Symphony seems happy with the work they did.
Singles Match/JET National Championship & Biggest Dreamer Tournament Semi-Finals:
Masumi Tsutsumi w/Narumi Tsutsumi vs. Amy Slayton
The first of two semi-final matchups as The Red Queen Amy Slayton took on Masumi Tsutsumi, the winner would move on to Cinderella Story. Both women had a clash of strikes as Slayton was able to set the pace of the match early by working on the leg of Masumi. Slayton was definitely getting a negative from the crowd as she continued to work on the leg of Masumi, making sure that her signature kicks were weakened. Masumi soon made her comeback, with her right leg out of commission, she switched to nailing her opponent with left legged kicks. The match ran for nearly 14 minutes with both Slayton and Tsutsumi running their moveset to put the other down but in the end, a combination of strikes from Masumi saw the end of Slayton and it ended with a perfect Sunset Densetsu!
(Winner - Masumi Tsutsumi)
Semi-Main/Singles Match/JET National Championship & Biggest Dream Tournament Semi-Finals:
SAIKO vs. Rio Kurokawa:
The match started with a brawl as both women went at it right from the beginning, this match ended up being a long and brutal slugfest, exactly what Hanako Nakamoto wanted when she said that National Championship will truly showcase the fighting spirit of the JET Roster. SAIKO being the violent competitor that she is was able to keep pace with Kurokawa. With each sequence of quick strikes by Rio was soon met with one brutal move by SAIKO. The match reached its climax with a barrage of Knee Strikes knocking out the Mob Psycho before Rio ended the match with Ketsueki Toll!
(Winner - Rio Kurokawa)
POST-MATCH:
As Rio celebrated and SAIKO was being helped to the back by her KAGUYA-Gun stablemates, she was soon confronted by her Cinderella Story opponent, Masumi Tsutsumi. Both competitors eye the other up as this brought out Hanako Nakamoto holding a small bag containing something. The JET President was impressed with both ladies and wanted to showcase the prize they would be fighting for at Cinderella Story. She soon pulls out a beautiful championship belt from the bag as it was the brand new JET National Championship.
Both Rio and Masumi got a good look at the title before they returned to looking at one another. 32 Women started this tournament and now just 2 remain, who will at Cinderella Story!
Main Event/Eight Women Tag Team Match:
Midori Miyamoto, Momoko Honda, Yuki Takigawa, and Machiko Hasegawa vs. Mizuki Nakata, IZM, Hanna Rockford, and Makiya Kusanagi
The final match of the tour and what a main event set for tonight’s show. Mizuki had her team and Midori Miyamoto her own, this match was to set up the four competitors in the battle royale along with the Cinderella Story main event and Semi-Main. Again Mizuki and Midori put their friendship to the side to show the other how much the Cinderella Story meant, the match allowed everyone in it to showcase their talent. Rivals Machiko and IZM clashed after a long while and it seemed that Machiko forgot her loss last year at Sakura Blooming, Korakuen Hall was soon given a showcase for a brand new matchup for the future which was Kusanagi vs. Machiko Hasegawa. Both women didn’t give up at all and similar to her clashes with IZM, The New Fighting Spirit invited these strikes.
The match also had a unique clash of Yuki Takigawa and Hanna Rockford as both wrestled a much faster style, which quickened the pace.
The main event was what was needed to close off a tour as it ended after 20 minutes with Mizuki hitting Takigawa with a Lanikea to seal the win for herself and her team.
(Winner - Mizuki Nakata, IZM, Hanna Rockford and Makiya Kusanagi)
POST-MATCH:
With the champs helping their teammates, Mizuki Nakata who requested a mic and as always she let out a scream to start her post-match promo.
Mizuki Nakata: KORAKUEN HALL!!! MY PARTNERS AND I HAVE STOLEN THE SHOW AGAIN!!!
There is a loud reception from the fans as Mizuki hands her mic to her tag partner but they let her continue instead.
Mizuki Nakata: Oi’ Midori before you leave, I want you to hear this from my mouth.
Midori Miyamoto soon turns around just as she is about to head towards the backstage area.
Mizuki Nakata: I want to say thank you! Thank you for beating me in Osaka, it lit a fire inside of me. It made me realized that even though I was main eventing Cinderella Story for a third straight year, I haven’t been The Ace that people have dubbed me to be. That got to me when on the second night in Osaka, you pinned me. You have done more than I have this year, I won RISE Grand Prix but you have been leading JET to new heights as World Champion. You’ve been World Champion for 300 plus days while my only reign was a mere 112 days.
Mizuki Nakata: You’re everything this company needs going into the next era of Japan but so am I. This match will truly prove who is the person that will lead JET into this new era and I intend to be the one who will lead my home promotion to greater heights. So watch the best Mizuki Nakata show up at Budokan and take your championship away from you!
Midori Miyamoto has a smirk on her face as she mouths “we’ll see about that” before heading backstage. Mizuki Nakata soon turns to the Korakuen Hall crowd to continue her promo.
Mizuki Nakata: This has been a long time coming, it’s been two whole years since I had a singles match for the JET World Championship! I promise to win and lead this company as The Ace of JET that all of you see me as! Till then thank you all for coming tonight and we will see at Nippon Budokan for Cinderella Story where I intend to steal the show once again!
“Rage of Dust” by SPYAIR plays again as Mizuki celebrates her win with her tag partners, the last shot is of Mizuki mouthing towards the camera that she’ll be JET World Champion for the second time in her career.
