JET 36
Location: Shin-Kiba 1st Ring
Date: June 10th
Opening segment:
- The show started with JET President Hanako Nakamoto who was proud to announce that even with everything happening around the world, Cinderella Story was a huge success and JET has been hotter than ever in the world. She soon announced that because of her HUGE win against KAGUYA, Stephanie Matsuda has been selected as Mizuki Nakata’s first opponent for the first-ever Yokohama Pro-Wres Festival event on June 26th. This will be enough time for both women to prepare for this first time ever singles match.
This brought out Wolfegang Symphony who said that the two co-owners being given huge opportunities is BS and demanded their rematch for JET World Tag Team Championship. Hanako said that Azumi and Stephanie being prominent isn’t because of their own choice but she is willing to give them a rematch against Dream TAG at Pro-Wres Festival.
Opening Contest:
Chloe Eastend and Talia Areano vs. Sora Todoh and IZM
The first match of the 15th Anniversary Season of JET featured four young exciting talent. IZM seemed a bit down and out of it, Sora checked on her partner and it seemed that IZM was doing fine. The match was a whole other story that the disappointment of the Budokan loss might have hit IZM hard. She was completely out of it and this led to her being the weak link of the team. Sora was able to make a big comeback near the end but it wasn’t as Talia was able to get the win with a Slice of Heaven on IZM!
(Winner - Chloe Eastend and Talia Areano)
Post-match: Chloe during her post-match interview was confronted by Sora who laid down a challenge for Yokohama Pro-Wres Festival. Both are 1-1 in a singles match and they settle it at Yokohama Bunka Gymnasium.
Segment:
- The next segment of JET 36 is a pre-taped interview of JUNKO who seemed to be sporting a brand new look. JET Ring Announce Naomi Serizawa was acting as the interviewer and JUNKO let out everything, her frustrations, and says that she has the intention of being the second in command to NO ONE. When asked about KAGUYA’s injuries, JUNKO only let out a sick smile before saying that KAGUYA shouldn’t return back to JET if she knows what’s good for her. The final question was about the old KAGUYA-Gun faction and she said that they’re no longer KAGUYA’s army but rather DESPERADOS.
Match 2/JET National Championship Number 1 Contendership:
Makiya Kusanagi vs. Q w/Julia Zhang
In our second match of the show, Makiya Kusanagi took on the undefeated Q. Clash of similar styles as both attacked one another with stiff strikes and didn’t let up for most of this match. The match came down to an interference by Julia Zhang who was able to distract Kusanagi and that allowed Q to nail her opponent with a stiff Dragon Suplex. This got Q a close two count but the end soon came after with a Q’s Lament (Deadlift German Suplex)!
(Winner - Q)
Match 3/Tag Team match:
Machiko Hasegawa and Momoko Honda vs. Amy Slayton and Rio Kurokawa
With her new challenge set in stone, Rio was looking over her shoulder as she knows well that the newly renamed DESPERADOS could strike at any moment. It was a unique champion vs. champion situation as Momoko Honda took on the brand new National Champion Rio Kurokawa. Rio’s partner for the match is also Momoko’s next challenger, Amy Slayton who was had some moments with the champion. The end of the match saw a surprise pinfall win over the Academy Champion by Amy Slayton as she nailed Momoko with The Devil’s Dance!
(Winner - Amy Slayton and Rio Kurokawa)
POST-MATCH:
As Momoko was helped to the back by Machiko, Amy gladly taunted the champion in the ring before leaving. Rio was left in the ring alone as this brought out her challenger for Yokohama Pro-Wres Festival and she wasn’t alone! DESPERADO member and leader JNKO made her presence known but out to support Rio was her former opponent, Masumi Tsutsumi! It seemed that Masumi wasn’t going to stand for this. This forced a retreat from DESPERADOS but before the segment ended, there was an intense staredown between Masumi and JUNKO.
Semi-Main/Tag Team Match:
Midori Miyamoto and Ai Moe vs. Tomoyo Hirate and Vivace Fortissimo
Former JET World Champion, Midori Miyamoto in action after her title loss. It was weird to see without the JET World Champion as she was champion for nearly a year. This became most a tune-up match for Midori and Ai Moe who looked at this chance to bounce back. Former Academy and Tag Champion, Tomoyo Hirate had to the most of the work as the inexperienced Vivace was the target of Moe and Miyamoto when she was in the ring. The match ended after ten minutes with Midori making Vivace tap out to a Soul Reaver.
(Winner - Midori Miyamoto and Ai Moe)
(Commercial break before the main event!)
Main Event/Six-Women Tag Team Match:
DESPERADOS (SAIKO, JUNKO and Rei Kagura) vs. Mizuki Nakata, Masumi Tsutsumi, and Megan Enders
There was a loud reception from the crowd when Mizuki was announced as the JET World Champion. The Ace was holding her title high in the air for all to see. The match competitive from the first moment as Mizuki squared off with her rival SAIKO one more time. Last time these two were in the same ring, it was a brutal deathmatch, and months later here they face-off. Another interesting interaction is that of Masumi Tsutsumi as she took on JUNKO. This set the story for the entire match as DESPERADOS were using everything to their advantage to win and after 15 minutes, the match ended with JUNKO nailing Masumi with a Dark Impulse to win.
(Winners - DESPERADOS)
Post-Match:
JUNKO spoke up as she was fine with hearing the crowd’s negative reaction. She immediately reminded everyone that she is now in charge of the recently rebranded DESPERADO! The Tragic Heart soon made a threat to Mizuki and told her that her time as champion was coming to an end soon but before that, she challenged Masumi Tsutsumi to a singles match at Yokohama Pro-Wres Festival.
