Opening Match:
Tani Yamanaka vs. Jessica Rose
Match Note:
A brand new look for Jessica Rose as the crowd hated the former fan favorite for her actions at the end of the Pro-Wres Festival show. The entire crowd was behind newcomer Tani Yamanaka, it didn’t help that Jessica was almost taunting her former friend and tag partner Stephanie Matsuda by doing her entrance pose.
It was as if Jessica was trying to see how far the Shin-Kiba crowd can hate her. Her arrogance almost cost her but she was able to recover and ended the match with a Rose Trigger to Tani.
(Winner - Jessica Rose)
Post-Match:
Jessica’s continued to taunt Stephanie Matsuda calling her out to stay away from JET if she knows what’s good for her.
---
Match 2:
Makiya Kusanagi vs. Julia Zhang
Match Note:
Considering that Julia Zhang cost Makiya a shot at the JET National Championship, this match was a revenge match for Kusanagi. The match was all Zhang during the middle stage of this match but Makiya was able to make a fiery comeback.
Big blows after big blows followed by a Mountain Bomb ‘95 from Makiya as she was able to get her revenge and move forward.
(Winner - Makiya Kusanagi)
Post Match:
Makiya Kusanagi gave her interview as she was soon confronted by Hanako Nakamoto who is impressed by Makiya and tells her that she’ll be in the next show’s qualifying match to get entry into the Gauntlet match.
---
Match 3:
IZM, Yuki Takigawa and Machiko Hasegawa vs. Amy Slayton and Wolfegang Symphony (Bethany Sharpe and Vivina Wolfe)
Match Note:
The new JET Academy Champion was in action as she paired with Wolfegang Symphony to take on Yuki Takigawa, Machiko Hasegawa and IZM. The two rivals in Machiko and IZM put their differences aside as both seemed to be interested in the Academy Championship that Amy Slayton was holding. This had the champion backing away at any confrontation with them. The match saw the heels working on Yuki with both Machiko and IZM desperate to get the tag, when the tag was made, it was Machiko who got it who bulldozed through the competition. The ending saw IZM who had gotten a tag hitting the JET ACADEMY CHAMPION with a Jade Shoro Bomb to a loud reaction.
(Winner - IZM, Yuki Takigawa, and Machiko Hasegawa)
Post-Match:
As Amy Slayton was being helped, IZM yelled out to her on a mic and set her challenge. That seemed to have gotten Machiko mad, who reminded that IZM had her chance for the Academy Championship and lost. She wanted her chance at the Academy Championship and do something that her rival couldn’t.
This brought out JET General Manager Yoko Kudo who had an interesting idea. Her idea being that since IZM had gotten the pinfall win over Amy that she deserved the shot at Goddess Dream. So Amy Slayton vs. IZM was set for that event and then the winner of those two will defend the belt against Machiko in yet-to-be announced show.
---
Backstage Segment:
Wolfegang Symphony were interviewed after helping Amy to the back and they talked about having the JET Tag Titles around their shoulders again but they wanted to know their next challengers. Yoko Kudo who was just backstage told them that their challengers had been selected by the board and they will be revealed soon.

Semi-Main:
Ai Moe and Vivace Fortissimo vs. Tomoyo Hirate and Rio Kurokawa
Match Note:
This match was nothing more than a tune-up, Ai Moe who had been trying to regain form after the last couple of months not going her way teamed with Vivace to face off former JET World Tag Team Champions, Tomoyo Hirate and Rio Kurokawa. Moe and Vivace tried their best but the inexperience of the masked wrestler didn’t help as the match ended with Tomoyo nailing Vivace with a Epsilon Tract.
(Winners - Rio Kurokawa and Tomoyo Hirate)
Post-Match:
As the two celebrated, Tomoyo asked Rio to stay in the ring as she had an announcement. Tomoyo soon declared that she would be leaving JET to go on an excursion across America for two years. Her desire to get better and fulfill her destiny as JET’s future was getting to her, she soon said that she wanted one last match in JET before the excursion and she wanted it at Goddess Dream. Her opponent? Rio Kurokawa and she wanted to face her for the JET National Championship.
The champ gladly accepted and now another match for the event was set!

Main Event:
DESPERADOS (JUNKO, SAIKO, Rei Kagura and Q) vs. Mizuki Nakata, Masumi Tsutsumi, Midori Miyamoto, and Sora Todoh
The main event of tonight featured a HUGE eight woman tag team match but this match never got going as a brawl broke out because of DESPERADOS trying to get a sneak attack. They had to be pulled away, especially JUNKO and Mizuki as the Ace of JET was still furious about DESPERADOS ruining the main event of the Pro-Wres Festival. This match was thrown out the window and declared a no contest.
(No Contest)
After the match was thrown out, DESPERADOS were pulled out of the ring as Mizuki Nakata with rage in her voice yelled out to JUNKO.
“You want my title?! YOU WANT TO DISRESPECT MY HOME?! Just ask your best friend SAIKO what happens when you mess with me and JET! I’ll give you a match at Goddess Dream if that’s what you want!”
The show ended with JUNKO having a smile on her face with Mizuki raising the title high in the air.
JET 38 - Goddess Dream 2020 Tour Night 2
Location: Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan
Date: July 15th, 2020
Opening segment:
JET General Manager Yoko Kudo made her way out and it seems that she wasn’t happy about the main event to JET 37. She soon made it clear JUNKO vs. Mizuki Nakata will happen at Goddess Dream and tonight’s winner of the main event six-woman tag match will decide the stipulation for the title match.
---
Opening Match/Tributary Qualifying Match:
Makiya Kusanagi vs. Rei Kagura
Match Note:
As expected Rei Kagura tried to use her dirty tactics to get the best of her opponent. It was the only way she was going to beat Makiya Kusanagi but it didn’t work at all and this resulted in a quick match with Makiya winning via a Mountain Bomb.
(Winner - Makiya Kusanagi)
---
Match 2:
Wolfegang Symphony (Vivina Wolfe and Bethany Sharpe) vs. Sara Ashiya and Spring TORA
Match Note:
With no knowledge of their opponents, all Wolfegang could do was build some momentum. The cockiness of Wolfegang almost cost them a win against the young girls as both Sara and TORA looked to get their first wins but it wasn’t to be as Wolfegang sealed a win with a B-Flat from Bethany to Spring TORA.
(Winners - Wolfegang Symphony)
Post-Match:
Wolfegang’s confidence was at an all time high as they soon made it clear that they wanted their Goddess Dream opponents to show up at show in Kobe's KBS Hall on the 26th.
---
Match 3:
Rio Kurokawa, Sora Todoh, and Midori Miyamoto vs. Tomoyo Hirate, Ai Moe, and Masumi Tsutsumi
Match Note:
Interesting teams for tonight, Masumi and Ai Moe were set for a qualifying match into the Tributary Shield but they were teaming together. Sora and Midori had already been selected for the show and also were on the same team while National Championship match opponents Rio and Tomoyo were on opposite teams. The match was even all the way through and remained extremely competitive for the entire time. After twelve minutes, it ended with Sora Todoh getting pinned after an Epsilon Tract from Tomoyo.
(Winners - Ai Moe, Tomoyo Hirate and Masumi Tsutsumi.)
Post Match:
Sora apologized to Midori for the loss but all she got was a cold shoulder from the former JET World Champion and a single sentence.
“You have two weeks to get better or you have no chance of winning.”
---
Semi-Main:
Yuki Takigawa and Machiko Hasegawa vs. Hannah Rockford and IZM
Match Note:
With Amy Slayton in the main event, things were left for IZM and Machiko to battle it out in a tag match. Both tried to one up the other with brutal strong style strikes and power moves. A complete 180 from their tag partners who went in and showed a technical masterclass. Everything was favoring the more experienced team of Takigawa and Machiko but a hot tag from IZM changed that as she pinned the former JET World Champ Takigawa with a Jade Shoro Bomb and sealed another win.
(Winners - IZM and Hannah Rockford)
--
Before the main event a video package was played of someone who had signed with JET, all we get is her history as she was personally trained by JET’s head trainer and SSW Commentator Eiji Takahashi.
---
Main Event:
Amy Slayton and The Swarm (JUNKO and SAIKO) vs. Mizuki Nakata, Momoko Honda, and Megan Enders
Match Note:
With the potential of getting suspended, Mizuki and JUNKO competed in this match rather than breaking out into a fight. It was everything people expected it to be, Amy Slayton and The Swarm working over Momoko Honda who tried to claw her way to her partners and once she got it the entire Korakuen Hall was on fire for the JET World Champion! Mizuki laid into her opponents and got multiple near falls in her hot tag sequence but in the end it didn’t matter as the match ended with JUNKO using black mist in the eyes of the JET World Champ and rolling her up with a Black Rose. A dirty win but a win nonetheless for JUNKO and co.
(Winners - Amy Slayton and The Swarm)
Post-Match:
Amy Slayton had already left for the back as her work was done as that left The Swarm and Mizuki and co. Now it was time for JUNKO to reveal the stipulation and it was something people weren’t expecting.
“Goddess Dream huh? The event to celebrate the career of the old hag who founded this company. How about a match type that she would never allow if she was still running JET? Mizuki… our JET World Championship match will be a DEATHMATCH!!”
The entire Korakuen exploded as Mizuki who was getting her eyes cleaned knew this stipulation really well because of her past as a deathmatch wrestler. Mizuki vs. JUNKO at Goddess Dream had it’s stipulation set. For the first time ever, the prestigious JET World Championship will be contested in a deathmatch.
