JET 40
Date: October 14th, 2020
Venue: Club Citta in Kawasaki, Kanagawa
Before the show started, we got a recap of the RISE Grand Prix and the Finals. A first time winner of the tournament was crowned as Midori won her first GP and defeated her rival Mizuki Nakata.
We soon cut to Club Citta Kawasaki as the crowd in attendance is ready to go. Immediately we cut to the first match of the show.
Tani Yamanaka vs. Vivace Fortissimo
Both young stars were given the opening match of tonight’s show and they delivered. It was an exciting match that got the crowd hyped up for the show tonight. Tani who was coming off a loss at GP Finals and unfortunately she took another loss tonight as her Neo-Emerald Driver was countered into a roll up.
(Winner - Vivace Fortissimo)
We cut over to backstage where Wolfegang Symphony are in the office of JET GM Yoko Kudo, they do not look happy as they seem to be complaining and demanding a rematch for the tag team championships. Yoko seems to be unimpressed as she tells Wolfegang that they won’t be getting an immediate rematch for the tag title but rather they will be forced to compete in a number one contendership triple threat tag match on JET 41.
NAMI vs. Spring TORA
After an impressive GP, NAMI took on Spring TORA in the next match of the evening. As expected The Golden Queen was able to take advantage in the early stages, TORA tried to fight back but it didn’t matter in the end as she lost to a Velvet from NAMI.
(Winner - NAMI)
“I have trained a fair few people in my time, but none have come as far as her in such a short window of time.”
The voice, familiar to some of the crowd, is shown to belong to Graham Baker. The Guillotine sits amidst a collection of photographs, VHS tapes, a cigarette between his lips as he clicks a button on a remote ahead of him. We see a screen start up, and we see a training ring in a small dojo somewhere in Japan. A younger girl with dark brown hair comes toe to toe with another, and they begin sparring.
“I noticed it in the technique at first-like, y’know, she wanted to learn, but then this happened.”
The brown haired girl hauls the other up onto her shoulders, and spins her out with a massive Torture Rack Slam. The crowd around the ring looks stunned as she secures a visual pin with relative ease. We can make out, in a clip after that, the figure of Graham Baker putting a hand on her shoulder and introducing himself.
“Someone of that size having, y’know, that strength was a lot, more than I’d seen from anyone else.”
We see more clips-the girl, now clearly identifiable as HULK, growing older and coming toe to toe with heavier opponents. In one clip, a large woman goes for a lariat, and HULK hauls her up onto her shoulders for a modified GTS before following up with a discus elbow that sends her down. HULK pins. We cut to another clip, where HULK blasts her opponent with a pumping bomber lariat, bending them in half, before she flips over them and hits a rolling German Suplex into the corner. The crowd pops.
“It was really only a matter of time-with or without me, and you know how much of a hit to my ego it is to not be able to take that credit-before she blew up. And now, she’s doing it.”
We see HULK on a bigger stage, entering various different stadiums, halls, venues. We see her take some heavy hits but keep punching, dole out even heavier ones. Baker keeps clicking through clips, and in one clip, we see a woman try to haul HULK up only for HULK to land on her feet, hit a German and then her powerbomb for a quick three count. In another, HULK counters a top rope dive with a running knee into a top rope powerbomb for a three. In a third, HULK dives to the top rope after planting an opponent with a Death Valley Driver and hits a beautiful, almost picture-perfect frog splash for a three. The clips cut out, and Baker glances to the camera.
“But don’t let me do all the talking-let the girl have some words, eh?”
We cut to HULK, who’s dressed herself rather formally. She throws her hair back over her shoulder, and smiles.
“At every opportunity, I’ve tested myself, struggled for leverage, struggled to make an impression. I’ve collected almost as many wins as failures, but I haven’t given up yet! Joshi Extreme Takeover, you are my newest conquest...and you will be my greatest!” HULK cracks a salute off, and beams a smile.
“Believe that!”
The screen shows more rapid-fire clips of HULK hitting big moves, before we cut to a finish, and one last image of HULK outlined with the words ‘Coming Soon!’

Hanna Rockford and Makiya Kusanagi vs. Rio Kurokawa and Amy Slayton
With their future National Title match coming soon, champion and challenger were on opposite sides as opponents in this tag match. Hanna Rockford took the fight to Rio Kurokawa and showed that she was ready to challenge for the title. Everything was going Hanna’s way but the champion and Amy Slayton were able to put away Makiya following a Devil’s Dance from Amy.
(Winners - Rio Kurokawa and Amy Slayton)
Post-match:
A tense moment between champion and challenger as Rio held the JET National Title in the air for Hanna to see. Telling her that the title was far beyond her grasp.
Afterwards we were given an update by Maki and Asuka that Mizuki Nakata will not be in action for most of this tour as The Ace had been told to rest by JET management.
Semi-Main:
DESPERADOS (JUNKO, Q and Julia Zhang) vs. Sora Todoh, Talia Areano, and Megan Enders
In the next match of the evening and the semi-main, it was DESPERADOS vs. Sora Todoh and the NEW JET Tag Team Champions Talia Areano and Megan Enders. With Sora’s intentions to challenge for the JET World Championship still a hot topic from the GP Finals show, the Shooting Star was looking to prove that she should be allowed to challenge for the belt. Sora and Tag Champs did amazing in this match as they were able to fight off DESPERADOS despite not teaming often but as always there DESPERADOS weren’t looking to fight fair and tonight was no exception as Jessica Rose intervened in the match as the ref was distracted. She slid into the ring and nailed a Rose Trigger on Sora before leaving the ring. This left JUNKO who was able to capitalize with a Shadow Flash for the win.
(Winners - DESPERADOS)
Post-Match:
DESPERADOS seem to be in a foul mood as they continued their assault on Sora and co. with stomps before someone from the back was rushing out. KAGUYA was in the building as she rushed to the ring with a kendo stick in hand swinging at all four DESPERADOS members. A fiery KAGUYA took a mic and looked directly at DESPERADOS.
KAGUYA: Oi’ DESPERADOS! WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU’RE RUNNING OFF TO!?
The crowd was surprisingly behind KAGUYA as the anger clearly could be heard in her voice.
KAGUYA: I gave you all an opportunity and what did you do with it? You turned your back on me?! You took seven months of my career away from me and I promise you this. Each and every single one of you will be dead by MY hands!
JUNKO seems to laugh it off as she turns her back and begins to walk away.
KAGUYA: ESPECIALLY YOU JUNKO! I promise you that not a single soul on this planet will be able to stop me from what I intend to do to you!
KAGUYA drops the mic as she looks back at Talia, Megan, and Sora. Last year KAGUYA was personally responsible for trying to end Sora’s career but this year she came down to make the save.
We cut backstage as JUNKO looked unimpressed. She had her championship in hand and looked at the reporters.
JUNKO: She’s back! Congrats KAGUYA, you finally returned. Changed your look, dyed your hair and let it grow out. I must say I’m… not impressed. See while you were gone, I got this title. I did something that you could never do with KAGUYA-Gun, I became the greatest threat to not only JET but all of women’s wrestling.
JUNKO smiles with evil intentions in her eyes.
JUNKO: You grew soft and weak, I became stronger. KAGUYA-Gun could never replicate what DESPERADOS has, can and will do in JET. You should have taken more time off, KAGUYA… because you’re asking for a retirement like your old friend Azumi Goto. And Sora… you will never get a title shot for this championship. No one in this company can get a JET World Championship match unless I say so. So try your luck at the Academy Title, runt.
Main Event:
Ai Moe, Masumi Tsutsumi, and IZM vs. Midori Miyamoto, Yuki Takigawa, and Momoko Honda.
In the main event, we had our second six woman tag match of the evening as Ai Moe, Masumi Tsutsumi, and IZM took on Midori Miyamoto, Yuki Takigawa, and Momoko Honda. An incredible match from the start as champion and challenger for the Academy title match at Rise Up New Generation. Momoko and IZM know each other way too well as they went at it. The match had Club Citta on their feet as all six got the chance to shine tonight. In the end, Ai Moe was able to counter a Black-Out attempt from Takigawa into a Cross Arm German Suplex following it up with a Love Is A Battlefield for the huge main event win for Tsutsumi, Moe and IZM.
(Winners - Ai Moe, Masumi Tsutsumi, and IZM)
Post-match:
The crowd applauded the six women for the incredible main event, Midori was helping her tag partner out of the ring as Ai Moe had a mic in her.
Ai Moe: Midori-chan… before you go, I need you to hear this from me.
Midori soon stopped and let Momoko and the young girls carry Yuki to the back.
Ai Moe: You and I… we came in at the same time, we won our first titles together, and we’ve fought alongside each other. Even when we achieved singles success for the first time in JET, it was nearly at the same time. I consider both you and Mizuki to be my close friends. We were trios partners and I wouldn’t have wanted it to be any other way. I was happy that both of you were in the main event of Cinderella Story as you two are so incredible.
But yet… whenever we’ve faced off in singles matches, we could never figure out a decisive winner. Two GPs in a row and our match ended in a time-limit draw. So I want to finally beat you once… Midori Miyamoto I challenge you to a singles match for your RISE GP Title Shot! Please accept my challenge, Midori-chan!
Midori Miyamoto stoic as ever simply nodded and raised her briefcase high in the air before heading to the back.
Ai Moe: Well… that does it for me, everyone! Thank you Club Citta for coming in tonight for this show! We will be back for JET 41… till then we love you all!
Ai Moe blows a kiss to the camera as she and her partners celebrated their win as the show came to an end.
