Korakuen Hall in Tokyo
The show opens with a recap of the incredible night that was Rise Up New Generation. The incredible Sendai crowd was hot throughout the whole night. Highlights of every match and especially of the main event where the JET Academy Champion stood tall in victory. We cut to Korakuen Hall with “Full House” by GIRLFRIEND playing in the background.
Maki Fujioka: After what was an incredible Rise Up New Generation, JET is back on the road and where else to start but Korakuen Hall? I’m Maki Fujioka and joining me as always is the incredible Asuka Kuramochi.
Asuka Kuramochi: Thank you for the kind words, Maki! We have got a great show despite a lot of our talents resting up but no time to break down the card as we have an important contract signing.
Soon “Rusty Nail (Instrument)” by X Japan played and out arrived JET General Manager Yoko Kudo as she made her way to the ring. The crowd was excited as there was a table set in the ring with what looked like a contract on it. Yoko Kudo enters the ring and picks up one of the two microphones set on the table.
Yoko Kudo: Korakuen Hall, how are all of you doing?!
A loud ovation of cheers from Korakeun Hall as Yoko continues.
Yoko Kudo: This past year has seen incredible growth from JET. Who would have thought that JET would be holding Cinderella Story in a baseball stadium? This growth had to lead to us bringing over some of the best talents in the world. Including this person who will be signing her contract in person right now.
Another pop of cheers from the crowd.
Yoko Kudo: She is the first-ever two-time OWA Women’s World Champion and a constant main eventer, in the eyes of the JET board, she has to be considered as the best female wrestler from the west and one of the best in the world right now. Ladies and gentlemen give it up for…
DIAAAAANNNNTTTTHAAAAA ROOOOOSSOOOOOO!!!
“Eclipse” by Yngwie Malmsteen plays to a LOUD ovation from the Korakuen crowd. Diantha Rosso makes her way out from the back with a smirk on her face.
Maki Fujioka: WHAT A RECEPTION FOR DIANTHA ROSSO! The crowd here in Korakuen has exploded into cheers. What a moment for JET to have Diantha Rosso as a part of the roster!
Asuka Kuramochi: Imagine every single dream match that she could have as a part of the JET roster! To face the likes of Midori, Mizuki, Momoko, IZM and so many more. I’m getting excited just thinking about it.
Diantha enters the ring and shakes hands with Yoko Kudo. She soon grabs the second microphone on the table and begins to speak to the fans in English but before she can even speak the crowd is chanting her name:
Crowd: DI-AN-THA! DI-AN-THA! DI-AN-THA!
Diantha Rosso (English): Thank you for the warm welcome! I must say that it’s quite exciting to be here. They say that JET is the biggest women’s promotion in the world where some of the best are born and where the best compete. So I knew when the offer came that JET was where I wanted to go and take the next big step for my career.
Diantha takes the pen on the table and signs her JET contract to much love from the fans.
Diantha Rosso: So we might as well find my first opponent, two years ago JET co-owner Azumi announced an open challenge for her debut in OWA and I want to do the same thing that she did in JET. My first match will be at Nagoya Spotlight, so who wants to step up?
The crowd seems excited to see who will answer Diantha’s challenge and soon “Rage of Dust” by SPYAIR play to a loud ovation. The Ace of JET herself, Mizuki Nakata makes her way out from the back. That seems to draw a smile on Diantha’s face.
Maki Fujioka: Wow! The Ace of JET has offered herself up as Diantha Rosso’s first opponent! That checks off one of the many opponents on your list that you would like to see face Diantha, Asuka.
Asuka Kuramochi: You’re right and what a match this would be! The best female wrestler from the west vs. the best female wrestler from the east would be an instant classic.
Mizuki enters the ring as she asks for a microphone and she is handed one by one of the young girls. Mizuki looks directly at Diantha and even with her minor English knowledge, she talks to her face-to-face.
Mizuki (English): Diantha, I’m the first opponent!
The loud ovation from the crowd as Mizuki and Diantha stare down at one another only for the moment to be ruined as “Roundtable Rival” by Lindsey Stirling. The crowd lets them hear it with boos. Both Sharpe and Wolfe don’t seem to care as they made to have their own mics.
Vivina Wolfe (English): HEY MIZUKI AND DIANTHA! NOBODY CARES! Both of you are overrated losers!
Bethany Sharpe (English): What we need to talk about is getting OUR tag titles back! Talia and Megan Enders fluked again. We were denied the chance to be tag champs again.
Wolfegang Symphony enters the ring as the annoyed looks on the faces of Mizuki and Diantha. Bethany soon pointed Diantha towards Diantha.
Bethany Sharpe: I think we all know that nobody wants you around here. So just go back to where you came from.
Diantha: Last time I checked these people wanted me here.
Diantha gets a pop from the crowd as they understand that she’s talking about them. A bit annoyed, Bethany Sharpe soon shoves Diantha who immediately responds with a BURNING MOON!!
Maki Fujioka: Well I think Bethany Sharpe might have been regretted her action as Vivina tries to rush at Diantha but Mizuki immediately gets Wolfe onto her shoulders for a Lanikea but she is able to escape!
Asuka Kuramochi: Wolfe checking on her partner as Diantha looks directly at them.
Diantha Rosso: How about this for my debut?! You two versus Mizuki and I?! Mizuki, you and I can have a singles match at a later date, I promise that.
Mizuki seems to nod as Yoko Kudo intervenes.
Yoko Kudo: I think that sounds like a good idea! On December 27th at Nagoya Spotlight. It will be Wolfegang Symphony vs. Mizuki Nakata and Diantha Rosso!
Diantha’s theme song, “Eclipse” plays again. As Wolfegang makes their way to the back, Mizuki and Diantha shake hands as a sign of their new partnership but suddenly it seems things are getting tense between them as they stare at one another.
Asuka Kuramochi: Well, unfortunately, the singles match I wanted to see will be delayed but now we have another match added to the Nagoya Spotlight card!
Maki Fujioka: Now speaking of matches, we’ve got a stacked card for you all tonight.
(Intermission)
Tate Amado vs Sara Ashiya
We have two debut matches for this week, as our opening match is one of them. This is "The Jersey Kaiju" Tate Amado squaring off against Sara Ashiya. Tate showed off her hard-hitting skills by laying into Sara with a couple of strikes, and showing off one of her defining moves, a headbutt at the end of the combo. Even though there's still a lot of resistance from Sara, countering Tate's attack with Mizuki-inspired moves but in the end, Sara's lack of experience unable to take down her debuting opponent. All Sara's momentum just stopped by one hell of a Spinning Backfist and one Amado Driver (Running Ganso Bomb) later, Tate secures the first victory in JET.
(Winner - Tate Amado)
Maki Fujioka: An impressive debut from Amado right there.
Asuka Kuramochi: She's taking one victory on her bag, that is gonna be an important momentum she will carry towards her next matches.
Tate is shown celebrating her win as she makes her way backstage for her comment. She describes being in JET as a huge challenge but she wants to start facing the best of the best in the world of women’s wrestling.
Camera cuts back to ringside now for the second match of the evening.
Saki Misawa vs. Spring TORA
Our second debut match is one half of New Generation Army, Saki Misawa against JET resident little luchadora, Spring TORA. The JET Academy Champion, IZM is not on Saki's side because she has to prepare her own match right after this one. But that is not a problem for Saki. The match itself is a couple back and forth between two with almost similar styles. Spring TORA showed her amazing acrobatic skills and offense, Misawa matched her lightning-speed agility and Saki's potent King's Road Style. One little mistake from either two competitors can cost this match. That's proven as TORA unable to hit her finisher and getting a quick Spinning Heel Kick that knocks her out cold. Saki climbs the ring to execute her finisher, Emerald Idol Elbow (Diving Elbow Drop) and secure her victory for tonight.
(Winner - Saki Misawa)
Asuka Kuramochi: These two gave their best in this match, Spring both fought but in the end Saki gets her first win
Maki Fujioka: If Saki alone alone can impress the crowd like this, imagine her combined force with IZM.
Post Match, Saki got to give her first interview since signing and she was given a chance to speak about how it feels to be in JET. After she gave her comment, IZM arrived and congratulated her best friend about their win! She soon left Saki’s side as her match was about to begin.
IZM and Vivace Fortissimo vs. NAMI and Yukiko Kusanagi
In the next match of the evening, the champion and challenger for the Academy Championship match at Nagoya Spotlight met up for the first against one another since their match during the RISE Grand Prix block stage. IZM and NAMI were there along with their respective partners Vivace and Yukiko. The focus on the match was all NAMI and IZM as it was NAMI’s kicks versus IZM’s chops/elbows. Unfortunately IZM’s arm was still heavily bandaged from the match against Momoko Honda and every time IZM was in the ring, her opponents would take advantage. The match ended after NAMI connected with a Plastic Surgery to Vivace for the win.
(Winners - NAMI and Yukiko Kusanagi)
As NAMI and Yukiko were celebrating their win, footage switched to a pre taped video of JET President Hanako Nakamoto.
Hanako Nakamoto: I hope that everyone is enjoying the show that JET is putting on tonight. Unfortunately I’m not going to be in the building, so instead I’m sending this video instead. Nagoya Spotlight doesn’t have its JET World Champion match set in stone but after RISE Up New Generation and seeing the anger in KAGUYA’s eyes. I thought to myself, why not set them up for the match.
The crowd gets excited to see the possibility of them in the ring for the JET World Title.
Hanako Nakamoto: So on December 27th, KAGUYA will challenge JUNKO for the JET World Championship. The stipulation for the match? Yet to be determined but tonight’s match featuring both of them on opposite sides will play a part in it. If KAGUYA and co. wins, she gets to set up the stipulation, if JUNKO and DESPERADOS wins, she gets to decide. I know for fact that everyone wants to see these tear into one another.
The crowd cheered as a response to Hanako’s comment. Soon the video ends and it changes to another segment.
It was another pre-taped segment as Mei Namikaze and Masumi Tsutsumi are seen in an old school traditional restaurant, similar to Ryoanji Yudofu. On the tatami floors, Masumi is chugging down sake while Mei looks outside as they enjoy their dinner. The manager of Osoroshii, Narumi Tsutsumi stands suspiciously with a man talking things over watching them.
Narumi: (Giggling mischievously) I’m telling you, they’re for real.
Restaurant owner: No...no...no they’re too young, everyone pretends to be true martial artists here.
Mei begins to get annoyed, seeing the two discuss them nearby.
Mei: Whatever you are doing, stop it, Narumi. You better not be thinking of anything that makes a game out of my training. You are related to Jaydayne-san and Masumi, but my patience has limits.
Masumi: Just ignore her, Mei, we’ll be facing Midori and an old friend of mine soon. Knock it off, Naru, she’s tense because we haven’t had a fight for so long.
Narumi pouts.
Narumi: Awww, they’re in super serious mode today. Sorry sir, I guess I’m actually paying for our meals.
Despite this, guys come out with thick wooden boards to push the issue. One gets close to Mei asking her to strike it. As she ignores him, he begins inching the board closer to her face.
Mei: Oi, boy. If that touches me, I’ll hurt you.
Not wanting to back off from a girl, who he doesn’t believe anyway, the guy lifts up the board to smack onto Mei’s head while Mei refuses to react. Before it hits, Masumi stands up and punches straight through the board. The owner is surprised, and others in the restaurant come around to watch the show.
Narumi: I told you! My sister is the strongest! You witnessed the apex of martial arts!
Mei stands up furious at such a simple thing for them being hyped as their best and anything near impressive in the grand scheme of the warrior way..
Mei: Apex??? That was nothing out of what we could do! Masumi, tell her. And strongest? I can do anything she can!
Masumi: ….You’re so competitive.
Mei: ..Apex, she’s crazy! You there, place two of those back to back! I need to get warmed up.
Mei forces more members of the staff to set up boards for her to destroy, while Masumi sighs at first but then joins in with a smile, happy to see her partner pumped up. Narumi begins giddily clapping as people watch.
Narumi: Free meals are the best meals! OSOROSHII ARE THE STRONGEST!!!!
Narumi rips their bill in half at the same time another board snaps in two by twin kicks from Osoroshii as the video ends.
Midori Miyamoto and Makiya Kusanagi vs. Osoroshii (Mei Namikaze and Masumi Tsutsumi)
Osoroshii in their second match together took on RISE GP winner Midori Miyamoto and Makiya Kusanagi. Midori and Masumi were having a rerun from their great GP Block Stage match. Midori couldn’t outstrike Tsutsumi and had to resort to suplexing her. Namikaze had a great showing for her second match in JET. Both members of Osoroshii had the advantage of being a proper tag team unlike Makiya and Midori but were able to keep up with Namikaze and Tsutsumi. In the end Osoroshii was able to get the win after Namikaze pinned Makiya following a Kamma No Hata (Shining Wizard to the back of the head).
(Winners - Osoroshii)
As Midori was helping Makiya up to her feet, Masumi approached her with her GP Briefcase in hand. She passed it over to Midori but made sure that Midori understood that she wanted the title match. No words were exchanged as Midori simply nodded. We cut backstage where Osoroshii are giving their comments backstage and the main comment from Masumi is “I’ve been Midori once, I can do it again”.
Mizuki Nakata and Rio Kurokawa vs. DESPERADOS (Jessica Rose and SAIKO)
In the semi main of the evening, the DESPERADOS team of SAIKO and Jessica took on Mizuki and Rio. Both teams immediately started this match with a brawl as it was hectic from the start. Once there was some amount of control as the match saw Mizuki getting worked on by DESPERADOS for a good portion of the match but once she got the tag to Rio, everything changed. The JET National Champion was on a roll and went off as she nearly won the match. 20 minutes in and exhaustion was hitting both teams but Mizuki was desperate to get back in and just as Rio was going to make the tag, Wolfegang Symphony pulled down Mizuki from the apron and started to attack her causing the match to end in a DQ.
(Winners via DQ - Mizuki Nakata and Rio Kurokawa)
The four continued to beat down Rio and Mizuki after the match and it seemed that they were going to be outnumbered but from the back arrived the help in the form of Sora Todoh and Diantha Rosso. They were able to help Mizuki and Rio along with chasing DESPERADOS and Wolfegang Symphony away. Both Rio and Mizuki were being helped out by their tag partners as the camera cut to the final intermission.
(Intermission)
Main Event:
KAGUYA, Talia Areano, and Megan Enders vs. DESERPADOS (JUNKO, Q and Julia Zhang)
The match that would determine the stipulation for their main event never got going as KAGUYA immediately charged at JUNKO before the bell even began. This created a huge brawl between KAGUYA and her partners against DESPERADOS. Unlike the semi-main where Yuri Watanabe was able to get control of the situation, this time around things were going her way. The brawl ended up having this match be thrown out.
(No Contest)
The brawl continued as members of the JET roster had to hold KAGUYA and JUNKO away from one another as this caused Yoko Kudo to make her way out from the back holding a mic. The look on the face of the general manager told the whole story.
Yoko Kudo: You two! YOU TWO REALLY COULDN’T HAVE ONE MATCH?! Fine! Neither gets to decide the stipulation for the JET World Title match at Nagoya because I WILL DECIDE THE STIPULATION!
Both KAGUYA and JUNKO are looking right at the JET GM as she unveils the stipulation.
Yoko Kudo: No DQ! No countout! AND MOST IMPORTANTLY! No Escape! At Nagoya Spotlight, you two will be surrounded by a cage with every single weapon imaginable to use on one another! Your title match will be a CAGE DEATHMATCH!
The crowd is shocked but excited at the news of hearing the stipulation. KAGUYA looks directly at JUNKO with a smile on her face.
Maki Fujioka: What a decision made by the general manager! Both women will not only be surrounded by a steel cage but weapons as well.
Asuka Kuramochi: And with the announcement of the no escape rule. KAGUYA’s face just got a slasher smile, there won’t be any running away from her.
KAGUYA begins to mouth off to JUNKO about how dead she is.
Maki Fujioka: That will do it for this week’s show, Ladies and Gentlemen! We now know two more matches for Nagoya Spotlight and we still have a two shows left before the event! I’m Maki Fujioka signing off for everyone on the broadcast!
The final shot is of DESPERADOS and their leader leaving the ring. A look of concern seems to have set on the face of the JET World Champion as the camera cuts to black.
