(LAW General Manager Madam Vega is seen standing behind a podium inside the press room at LAW headquarters. Before her are various news outlets within the sports and pro wrestling community at large. Beside her is President Marilyn Bellamy and LAW legend Robin Roberts. Behind her is the majority of the LAW roster. Each champion has their respective championship, including the Sakaraba Sisters with their IJWF Tag Team Championships.)
Madam Vega: Welcome to the Lethal League Press Conference. As you all know, I’m Madam Vega, General Manager of LAW. Sitting Beside me is LAW President Marilyn Bellamy and on my other side is our newly hired Assistant Manager and Championship Committee member Robin Roberts. Since the revival of Lethal Angels of Wrestling back in 2018, we’ve experienced steady growth. Everything’s increased from roster, revenue, sponsors, and more. Coincidentally our sister promotion Joshi Extreme Takeover is going through a similar “golden age”. We like to think that our on-going relationship is the core of our mutual success which motivates us to be inspired by what makes the top joshi brand the way it is. Enter Lethal League. A round robin tournament in the same vein as the RISE Grand Prix, but with a bigger scope. 40 competitors instead of 20. 4 blocks instead of 2. What you have is a season-long special event where the winner will main event Lethal Hearts 4 in Madison Square Garden. The finals of Lethal League will be at the Finish Line event which will host the semi-finals, finals, and third place matches. Minus Finish Line, there will be 36 nights dedicated to Lethal League. This of course will alter the usual LAW schedule in dramatic ways. To make up for this Lethal League will be based around a North American tour with episodes of Thursday Night LAW, various house shows, and LAW PPVs. Some of these shows and events will be held in Canada and Mexico, most notably our Northern Exposure and Dia del Muertos ppvs.
(Madam Vega pointed at a nearby board showing advertisements for the two events.)
Madam Vega: Speaking of events, LAW titles will still be defended. In fact, every ppv this season will have two nights. The first night will be dedicated to a special night of Lethal League and Night 2 will consist of title matches. Any lingering feuds between talent will have to be postponed until the conclusion of the tournament if they are scheduled to face each other. Title qualifications will be decided in a variety of ways and will be dealt with on a case by case basis. Before the conclusion of this conference we will be discussing the card for our first solo event of the season, Americana. Before that, in June we will have a crossover show with Slaughterhouse Wrestling entitled World War Z. This will not affect Lethal League in any way. Every night of Lethal League will be dedicated to a single block, therefore every Lethal League night will have five matches minimum. Behind me sits the participants of Lethal League, each group into their respective blocks. Allow me to introduce the blocks and the competitors.
(Madam Vega points to the far right of her, left of the audience)
Madam Vega: Block A consists of Llorona, Etune Manager, Misha LeCavalier, Brenda Martin, KATLA, Samara Crowe, Selena Firehouse, Revy, Wither Seede, and Daisy Thrash.
(Madam Vega points to the group next to Block A.)
Madam Vega: Block B is Devi Krysis, Roni de Vil, Savannah Sunshine, Xoltol Hun, Yuki Sakaraba, Kayla Winters, Emmanuelle, Eris, Melissa Flash, and Bianca Page.
(Madam Vega points behind her.)
Madam Vega: Block C is Jasmine Peyton, Sydney St. Clair, Arisa Jojima, Ruby Auriel, Liz Karlson, Atsuko Godai, Valerie Hendrix, Sayuri “Thunder” Masuda, April Song, and Amanda Belnades
(Finally, Vega points to the far left of her, right of the audience.)
Madam Vega: And Block D is Celeste Dumont, Rebecca Brookes, Dove Dynamite, Roxy, Kylie Monroe, Rina Sakaraba, Jessica Hendrix, Tiffany Santana, Serenity Scorpio, and Yamato.
(Vega turns her attention back to the press.)
Madam Vega: If the reigning Lethal Angel Champion wins Lethal League then she gets to decide who her Madison Square Garden opponent will be, along with a rematch clause she can use at any time throughout LAW Season 5. New hires during the current season won’t participate in Lethal League unless a competitor is pulled out and that competitor will receive those acquired points. But, if they win their block, they will have a best of three falls match against their semi-finals opponent. The points system of Lethal League is as follows: two points for a victory, one for a draw, and zero for a loss. In the case of a tie between block leaders, a tie-breaker match will commence to see who will move on to the elimination stage. Based on how well a competitor performs, there might be rewards given in relation to Lethal Hearts. That will be revisited upon completion of the tournament. Collision Course will be held this year along with another Queen of the World tournament. That will be treated separately from Lethal League. Now, for Americana…
(Madam Vega points to an ad for the upcoming show.)
Madam Vega: This season’s Americana event will be held on the weekend of July 3rd and the 4th at the Capital One Arena in Washington DC. Night 1 will be a Block A Lethal League night so current champions Misha LeCavalier and Season of Slaughter will be pulling double duty that weekend. Due to their success in the LAW vs JET match, the survivors of the match, Kayla Winters and Rebecca Brookes will be competing for the Lethal Tag Team Championships on Night 2. As a reward for her victory at Lethal Takeover, Atsuko Godai will face Devi Krysis for the Lethal Spark Championship. Upon her victory at Lethal Takeover, Revy will be granted a title shot against Lethal Specialist Champion Sydney St. Clair in the match of her choice. Due to her historic reign as the inaugural Lethal American Champion, Jessica Hendrix will be granted a rematch for the title at Americana, the very show she won the belt at. And, as everyone already knows, April Song has cashed in her Second Chance briefcase for a shot at the Lethal Angel Championship. She will face Roxy in the main event of Americana. If Ms. Song wins, it will be up to her to defend that belt at every ppv and while trying to win Lethal League. It will not be an easy task for the LAW World Champion, but nothing in life is, now is it?
(Madam Vega cracked a smile.)
Madam Vega: Now with the televised portion of this conference over, I will answer questions from the press that will be available for media use.
(The camera slowly fades as members of the press begun raising their hands.)
