Women’s Wrestling Alliance Intro plays for those watching at home as we are live from Shinjuku FACE, home to this week’s episode of JET. A recap of what happened from the JET at the Alliance Supershow plays with Tomoyo retaining her title and BIANCA retaining hers as well along with her post-match staredown with Nina Sanada.
Maki Fujioka: (Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to JET Weekly as we’re LIVE from Shinjuku FACE in Tokyo, Japan and with huge matches for you all tonight. The debut of many women and the return a particular one that I think my broadcast colleague is excited to have back with us.)
Hanako Nakamoto: (Definitely but we’ve also got a huge announcement to be made by Azumi Goto about many things. That’s up first! Let’s get right to it!)
"この番組はご覧のスポンサーの提供でお送りします"
Camera transitions to ringside as “Are you ready to FIGHT” by Raychell plays throughout Shinjuku FACE for Azumi Goto as she makes her way down to the ring to a round of applause and cheers from the crowd. Azumi soon picks up a mic and the music dies allowing the crowd noise and cheers to be heard.
Azumi Goto: (Everyone! Welcome to JET Road to Sakura Blooming Night 1 and more importantly welcome to a brand new era of Joshi Extreme Takeover. It’s been ages since I’ve proudly stood as a member of JET and for the first time, I stand as a member of the board. It means a lot for me to stand here as the leader of a promotion that I treated as a second family. That took me in back when I was young and helped mold me into the woman I am today. Here in this very arena, I had first match in JET and I was wearing a simple black ring gear, nothing special but now so many years after that match. I stand as the president and co-owner of JET. It’s quite an honor for me to be leading an amazing roster of women.)
Loud cheers from the crowd as Azumi continues to speak.
Azumi Goto: (With the rise of competitors like Mizuki Nakata, BIANCA, JUNKO, Candice Blair and so many more. Gone are the days of when myself and my fellow co-owner Stephanie Matsuda were considered the co-Aces of the promotion. It’s time for the new guard, a newer generation. One that I believe will be the best one yet! A great way to showcase that will be to make one last match of the old guard to be a part of but that’s for later. Right now I want to introduce you all to the woman who will lead JET as it’s authority figure while I continue to promote JET around the world. The woman that I have chosen for the job is a legend, she was a queen of this business and I’m very excited to have her back as a part of the JET team! LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! Please welcome the new General Manager of Joshi Extreme Takeover, YOKO KUDO!!!)
With the piano of her legendary theme called “Spartan X” plays, the crowd cheer as Yoko Kudo makes her way down to the ring with a microphone in her hand. The legendary Joshi enters the ring and shares a hug with Azumi. The music soon dies down as we see Azumi telling Yoko something.
Azumi Goto (off-mic): (Have fun. The stage is yours now!)
Azumi soon leaves to a round of applause from the crowd leaving Yoko alone in the ring as she begins to speak.
Yoko Kudo: (It’s nice to be back home after so long. I remember the original days of JET where I competed against Manami and so many fellow legends, it was a harsh time for Women’s wrestling back them and now it’s back where it belongs. Thriving alongside the men’s side of the business, across the ocean over in America. Women’s wrestling has seen an amazing evolution with the rise of women like Aria Jaxon, Tarah Nova, Cameron Ella Ava, Haruna Sakazaki we have seen an amazing rise to the top of mainstream media for the women of this sport! With the momentum carried over from our debut supershow, I promise to lead this amazing group of women and with my first official announcement as JET General Manager. I would like to gladly announce that Sakura Blooming will be back at one of the spiritual homes of Japanese wrestling, this season our first event will be LIVE from RYOGOKU SUMO HALL!)
Huge cheers from the crowd as we hear the voices of Hanako and Maki.
Maki Fujioka: (WOW! What a huge announcement, JET’s first PPV as a part of the new Women’s Wrestling Alliance will be at RYOGOKU! This is a huge deal, Hanako!)
Hanako Nakamoto: (You’re right! Careers have been made and so much more at Ryogoku! I’m definitely now more excited for Sakura Blooming!)
Camera goes back to Yuko as she smiles from hearing the excitement from the crowd before she resumes to speak again.
Yuko Kudo: (Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve taken enough of your time and it’s now time for some amazing in-ring action. I don’t plan to take much more of your time, so please enjoy the show, Everyone!)
Yuko leaves the ring as the camera fades to the first commercial break
{COMMERCIAL BREAK}
Show Opener; Tag Team Match: JUNKO & Saiko Hotaru vs. Ai Moe & Kimiko Hayabusa
The match began with Ai and Saiko for their respective teams and the Shinjuku FACE crowd got to see Ai Moe and Saiko for the first time as they were impressed with some talented grappling. A lot of counter wrestling was shown in the stages by Ai until Saiko Hotaru landed a running dropkick and took control. Frequent tags between JUNKO and Saiko to wear down Ai would resume until the inexperienced Ai fought back with a lariat and soon would tag in her partner Kimiko would start to show off her talent by hitting a big-time Hayabusa Hammer (Springboard Forearm) as her first move in JET. Kimiko continues to fight off JUNKO and would run of the rope to hit Saiko with The Princess’ Peach (Running Hip Attack).
Maki Fujioka: (Kimiko is on fire now, this young lady keeps showing us what she's capable of!)
Kimiko was in control until JUNKO slowed down the pace of the match with some forearms. The two of them would continue to wear each other down with strikes as both of their partners looked on from their respective corner. After one big dropkick, Kimiko begins to berate her tag partner saying that this is a true wrestler in the ring right now. Kimiko starts to show a more selfish side, with a lot of the fans’ moods turning sour. Moe tags herself and gets in the face of Kimiko, having enough of the disrespect shown to her by Kimiko. The ref now gets Kimiko out of the ring which allows to Saiko to get in the ring and get a flash pinfall victory on Ai Moe.
{Winner - JUNKO and Saiko Hotaru}
Hanako Nakamoto: (What an unfortunate misunderstanding from these two girls, costing their own match.)
Maki Fujioka: (on the other side, seems like this team keeps continuing their positive trends by adding another victory to their tally. Could this lead to their title chance against out current Tag Team champions, LUMINOID?)
Junko and Saiko celebrate their win as we see Kimiko immediately leaving Ai behind who’s being helped by the young girls.
(Commercial Break)
Singles Match: Natsu Toyama vs. Momoko Honda
Hanako Nakamoto: (This match is the showcase of our young prospect. Both of them trying to make a name for herself in this match.)
The bell rings as these two young athletes are shaking each other's hand as a sign of sportsmanship. Then they circle the ring and do a lock up battle which Natsu quickly turns it into a swift headlock. Natsu keeps giving Momoko a damage around the top area while Momoko is trying their best to escape. Momoko turns her body, thus releasing the lock Natsu gives as she counters Natsu's offensive with a charging knee attack. Momoko then does the first pin of the match but Natsu is able to kick out at two. Natsu quickly stands but Momoko is giving her some few clubs to the back of Natsu. Momoko is in control of Natsu as she keeps giving her opponents series of attacks, grapples as well as several failed pin attempts.
Maki Fujioka: (The Daughter of The Legend seems to find a difficulty of finding her groove here.)
Natsu seems getting drained after Momoko keeps doing her offensive but she gives all what she's able to do to counter and turn the tide. While Momoko is trying to get her on her feet, Natsu delivers some punches to Momoko's gut and slowing down her offensive. Now it's time for a counter attack as Natsu is charging and giving Momoko a vicious spear. A pinfall attempt by Natsu this time but Momoko is still able to kick out at two. Not wasting any time, Natsu just continue her momentum with giving Momoko a Cloverleaf lock. Momoko is trying to escape the lock until eventually she's able to grab the bottom rope, forcing Natsu to release her hold. Natsu seems furious about that as she's now ready to do her finishing move. She gets Momoko on her feet while holding one of her hand and she's ready to execute her finisher, Final Answer (Wristlock Lariat) but Momoko can successfully dodge it but not releasing Natsu's hold and just counter it with her own finisher, Earth Quaker (Cross-armed Neckbreaker). Momoko goes for a pin and Natsu is unable to kick out until her three count.
(Winner - Momoko Honda)
Hanako Nakamoto: Momoko has done it! She won this battle and have a momentum on her shoulder.
{Sakura Blooming Commercial}
We return to back from commercial as we transition to a video package, narrated by a female voice.
Narrator: (Change. It’s a strong word for a business like professional wrestling. It can mean so much, someone’s change in personality, change in the ring and so much more but in JET it stands for a changing of the guard.)
We see clips of the founding members of JET all competing years before the promotion was born, in the days of Joshi wrestling’s prime. Joshis of the 80s and 90s like Miss Manami and Hanako Nakamoto, showcasing their elegance, beauty, and skills in the ring.
Narrator: (With the creation of JET, the change was imminent. The birth of the new generation had arrived. Women like Nina Sanada, Spider Kagura and many more. A new era was created only to replaced with its next generation and the cycle continues.)
The next set of clips showing Nina Sanada as JET Champion, being the company figurehead only to have Azumi Goto and Stephanie Matsuda replace her as co-Aces of JET. With both of their departures, it shows the newest and current generation of JET Joshis, all showcasing their talents in the ring.
Narrator: (It’s a changing of the guard, the generation that was once considered the future have evolved into leaders for JET and now it’s time for the new group of elegance, beauty, and in-ring greatness to shine forward.)
We see in camera clips the past of JET to it’s present, the change in everything. Azumi Goto stepping up as president of the promotion after the retirement of Miss Manami, BIANCA becoming Unified JET Champion, Mizuki Nakata getting closer to have the title of Ace and arrival of the newest breed of wrestlers like Candice Blair, Vanessa Santiago, Saiko Hotaru and Virginia Atwood. As the footage is done, the camera returns to ringside for our next match as the small Tron shows the Semi-Main event of Mizuki Nakata, Tomoyo Hirate, and Yuki Sakuraba vs. Candice Blair, Vanessa Santiago, and Virginia Atwood.
Semi Main; Trios Team Match: Mizuki Nakata, Tomoyo Hirate and Yuki Sakuraba vs Candice Blair Ava, Virginia Atwood and Vanessa Santiago
Mizuki and Vanessa are going up first as Vanessa gives Mizuki an early momentum builds by keep giving her some attacks until she cornered. The referee tries to separates them both until a count of four as Vanessa lets go off her furious attack but soon as Vanessa taking some steps back, Vanessa gives Mizuki a cheap shot right to her face. The crowd begins to boo her but she doesn't care as she just taunting them anyway. After that, Vanessa grabs Mizuki by the hair and drags her to their corner. Vanessa tags to Virginia as they launch the double team, Vanessa grabs Mizuki's hair and Virginia kicks Mizuki's midsection, beating her up good. Virginia rolls Mizuki and goes for a Pin. But Mizuki is able to kick out. Virginia argues with the referee, blaming her for not counting fast enough.
Maki Fujioka: (Candice is arguing with the ref and asking for her competency, but she's doing nothing wrong.)
Virginia continues her attacks but in the middle of their attacks, Mizuki is able to counter Virginia's Irish Whip and shift their momentum as she reverses Virginia's attack with an Overhead toss. Mizuki tags in to Tomoyo as she just not wasting her time to give some ground punches to Virginia while she's down. Tomoyo gets Virginia on her feet now as she just quickly does her signature move, a rebound hip toss, continues with a pin. Virginia but still able to get her shoulder up. Without any argument, Tomoyo just lock Virginia into a Triangle lock, arching her body and making her in great pain. The Submission Specialist keeps giving pressure to her opponent but not long after that, using Virginia's long leg, she kicks Tomoyo's head, forcing her to release the hold. Tomoyo attempts to launch her resistance attack but Virginia quickly thinks and counter her charging attack into a Snap DDT. Both women are now down.
Hanako Nakamoto: (Yuki and Candice is already giving their hands to each partner, which one tagging first?)
Each girl is trying to crawl to their corner while both Yuki and Candice are eager to get inside the ring. Both of them tagging at the same time as they enter the ring, Yuki who seems more fired up, keeps attacking Candice with series of running attack. Vanessa is trying to help but she also gets a vicious Super Galactic Collider (Axe Bomber Lariat) right to her face. Yuki seems so fired up as she's screaming her battle cry to pump up the crowd. She taunts "Wake up!" To Candice. Once she's on her feet, Yuki sets her up for her finisher, Kawaii Supernova (Burning Hammer) and she nails it. She hooks Candice's legs but Virginia enters the ring and stomps Yuki and break the pin. Mizuki decides to enter the ring and aid Yuki by throwing Virginia out of the ring. Vanessa then enters the ring as well and clothesline her over the top rope as they both fall outside the ring. We see Tomoyo is already taking a stance as she just charges and jumps for a Tope Suicida to all three of the girls outside the ring. All the girls are in chaos now but Candice seizes the opportunity by giving an Avacadabra (Shining Wizard) to distracted Yuki as well as pinning her and grabs the victory.
(Winner - Candice Blair, Virginia Atwood and Vanessa Santiago)
Maki Fujioka: (The Team of foreigner girls has secured their victory for this match!)
Hanako Nakamoto: (Look at Tomoyo and her face of disbelief. She is having her first defeat on her career and she's not even taking the pin. She seem not accepting this defeat at all.)
{Final Commercial Break}
We return from commercial as we get an image on the tron of Nina Sanada and Spider Kagura vs. BIANCA and Mitra Marvel. We go back a normal shot with the hard camera as Asuka Kuramochi is back in the middle of the ring holding her microphone.
Asuka Kuramochi: (The following contest is scheduled for ONE FALL AND IS YOUR MAIN EVENT WITH A SIXTY MINUTE TIME LIMIT!)
Camera returns to ringside as ‘Lydia’ by Highly Suspect, the song sounds the return of the legendary Nina Sanada as she makes her way down to the ring to an amazing reception from the fans, showing their respects. Along with her is her tag partner Spider Kagura, who walks behind her.
Hanako Nakamoto: (Do you hear that, Maki!? Nina is back in Joshi Extreme Takeover!! The Monarch is back and is where she belongs, in the main event of the first show under this new era. For those who aren’t familiar to this woman, let me educate you all. This woman is Nina Sanada! The woman who is known for the longest reign as JET World Champion and holds the most reign as JET World Champion. It’s going to be amazing to see the Monarch back in the ring after a long absence to compete on the American indy scene. Not only that, she’s paired with her old tag team partner in Spider, I expect HUGE things from Nina in her return and I think she might be interested in taking back her JET world title.)
Nina takes off her entrance jacket as Young Lioness at ringside holds the rope for her and Spider to enter the ring. Soon after Nina’s theme is changed to that of Mitra Marvel as ‘Lolita’ by Lana Del Rey plays and the Shinjuku FACE crowd get introduced to Mitra as she makes her way out in a rainbow color attire with a smile on her face.
Maki Fujioka: Another new signing to JET from the American independent scene! Mitra Marvel is here and for a lot of people, this was the perfect step in her career to sign with JET. She’s everything you want in someone for the fans to cheer and get behind. And I think she’ll fit right in with the best of them. I mean she’s competing in the main event in her very first match in JET AND in Japan.
Mitra takes her time as ‘Lolita’ fades out for ‘Let Go’ By Miyavi as the now NEW JET Unified Champion is here. BIANCA makes her way out from the back and she’s holding her JET title around her shoulder, signaling the champ is here.
Maki Fujioka: (AND HERE SHE IS! The woman who not only is still JET World Champion but now is the first ever Unified JET Champion. She proved at the supershow why she’s considered one of the best Gaijin and female wrestlers in general and we see that right now. Something interesting is that BIANCA is the one who stared down Nina at the supershow once she won her match. So is saying that the BIANCA wants to face Nina next?)
The two babyfaces enter the ring as crowd applaud as we go to Asuka Kuramochi in the ring.
Asuka Kuramochi: (The following contest is scheduled for one fall!! Introducing first!!! SPIDER KAGURA!!!!)
Spider Kagura poses with a solid reception from the crowd and a couple of streamers.
Asuka Kuramochi: (AND HER TAG TEAM PARTNER! SHE IS THE MONARCH AND THE QUEEN OF JET!!!! SANADAAAAAAAAA NINAAAAAAAA!!!)
More streamers are thrown as Nina raises her fist in the air with a serious expression on her face, staring down BIANCA
Asuka Kuramochi: (Next!! Their opponents, first from Portland, Oregon and residing in Tokyo, Japan!! She is MITRAAAAAAAAAAAA MARVEL!!!!!)
Mitra smiles and poses for the crowd to a round of applause and a few streamers that match her attire.
Asuka Kuramochi: (AND her tag team partner! From Sapporo, Hokkaido, Japan!!! She is the JET Unified Champion!!! BIAAAAANCAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!)
BIANCA raises her title in the air for the crowd to see while she stares back at Nina. The ref hands BIANCA title to a ringside worker as Yuri Watanabe rings for the bell.
Main Event; Tag Team Match: Nina Sanada & Spider Kagura vs BIANCA & Mitra Marvel
The match started with Mitra Marvel and Spider Kagura as two of them would fight for control, to begin with, getting into a lock up. Spider would get the advantage but would be pushed off by Mitra who sent her opponent towards the rope but gets hit by Spider Kagura rebound shoulder block but we get the first glimpse of Mitra’s amazing athleticism as kips up right away to show off her abilities in the ring. Spider looks impressed as Mitra smirks. Soon we get the first tag of the match by Nina as she enters the ring and immediately we can see her advantage over Mitra, using her strength to her advantage and slows down the pace of the match. Mitra is able to pick up the pace when she hits Nina with a Golden Hour (Spinning Big Boot) but that only stuns Nina, Mitra continues her offense with a Sunshade (Spinning Headlock Elbow Drop) but it can’t put away Nina as she kicks out at one and a half. Mitra now goes over and tags in the World Champ as BIANCA gets her chance to compete.
Hanako Nakamoto: (Here comes the tag! Now these two talented Joshi are finally meet in one ring.)
BIANCA and Nina get into a test of strength to show who’s better but the more experience Sanada takes charge and Irish whips the JET Champion to follow with running handstand back elbow to BIANCA before pulling her in for a Saito Suplex for a two count as the JET Champion kicks out. Nina afterward would try to attempt a deadlift German only to have BIANCA fight back. The champ would get back up and follow up with a series of forearms and chops, BIANCA would Irish-whip Nina into a neutral corner and gets a running forearm, BIANCA would continue gaining momentum as she runs to the opposite corner and comes back BUT GETS STOPPED BY NINA who got her into a Fireman’s Carry and hit a big-time Samoan Driver she calls the Nippon Driver. Nina goes for another cover only to have Mitra break it up to the joy of the crowd.
Maki Fujioka: (Mitra Marvel to the rescue! It seems the match would still continue.)
Spider enters the ring and we a get brawl between both Mitra and Spider in which Spider would get the advantage as the ref is trying to get some control of the match. Spider attempts to get Mitra in for a Black Widow Buster but countered by Mitra as she hits Spider with one of her finishers, the Solar Flare (Lifting single-underhook brainbuster). A pop from the crowd as Mitra hit the move. Nina would now attack Mitra from behind and hit a huge German Suplex on the foreigner. With both tag partners out of the picture, this match is back as a one-on-one confrontation between BIANCA and Nina. As BIANCA uses the ropes to get up only to get a knee to the gut by Nina and as now Nina rebounds and GETS INTERCEPTED BY A SPEAR FROM BIANCA!!
Hanako Nakamoto: (Now listen to the crowd are behind BIANCA now. She is trying to boost her morale with the help of the crowd!)
The crowd is behind the JET World Champion as she signals about ending it and stalks Nina. She’s looking for a Kill Confirm (Codebreaker) but it’s countered by Nina who hits a counter Liger Bomb! The commentator acknowledges that BIANCA might be out as Nina picks up her opponent and makes the cut throat sign as she picks BIANCA up for Leg hook sitout scoop slam piledriver AND SHE HITS IT!!! What a return by Nina Sanada as she hits her finisher better known as the Sanada Driver and with Mitra Marvel out as she’s trying to get in the ring only to blocked by Spider Kagura. The Queen with the cover as she gets the three count and Nina Sanada has just pinned the JET World Champion in her return match.
{Winner - Nina Sanada and Spider Kagura}
‘Lydia’ by Highly Suspect as the crowd is in awe of the main event that just happened.
Maki Fujioka: (WHAT A MATCH!!! Nina Sanada, Spider Kagura, Mitra Marvel and BIANCA had an amazing bout as our main event tonight!! Not only that but Nina Sanada just pinned the JET World champion for a clean victory. An amazing way to return for Nina.)
We see Nina picking up a microphone and looks at BIANCA being helped to the back by Mitra and the young girls.
Nina Sanada: (Did you all see that the Queen hasn’t lost a step and she’s here. Azumi Goto and Yoko Kudo can talk all they want about this being a new era. But regardless, JET is the domain of Queen Nina! So Yoko how about you give the Queen what she has just earned and let me have the title shot for Sakura Blooming! I expect to hear from you soon.)
Nina tosses the microphone as ‘Lydia’ plays again with Nina and Spider celebrate.
Hanako Nakamoto: (Well you heard it first from the mouth of the Queen. Nina Sanada wants a title shot at the JET world championship and she has all the reason for it as she just pinned the JET world champion.)
Maki Fujioka: (Well we’re going know if that happens next week as we’re all out of time for tonight, Ladies and Gentlemen. This is Maki Fujioka signing off for both Hanako Nakamoto and myself.)
We get one last shot of Nina in the ring celebrating her win with Spider as the camera fades to the JET and WWA logos respectively.
