(The camera begins to start rolling as Maki Fujioka enters the frame taking a seat at the table, acting as the host for this press conference.)
Maki Fujioka: Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the Victorious Queen’s Road Press Conference. I’m JET’s lead play-by-play commentator Maki Fujioka and tonight, I’ll be the host for this press conference. As we approach the important date of December 27th, we’ll be using this platform given to us to talk about the event. As revealed during one of the intermissions at Midnight Door, we’ll be creating a new championship for this event, and for that, we would like to have our first guest join me on stage. She is a former JET World Champion and now serves as the head trainer at the JET Dojo and acting chairwoman of the JET Wrestlers’ Association, our first guest tonight is JET’s Red Dragon! KAGUYA!
(“With Vengeance” by Yosuke Kinoshita plays as KAGUYA makes her way onto the stage holding a briefcase. She is soon handed a microphone by Maki as the music dies down.)
KAGUYA: Everyone, good evening! I’m KAGUYA, and tonight I will representing the JET Board of Directors for this news. This year has seen great growth for our roster, we were able to create a brand new championship and division with the JET STRONG Division. This idea had been in mind since Victorious Queen’s Road was announced. It’s been said multiple times that earning a contendership for the JET World Champion is hard and winning the champion is even harder. Only the best of the best have held the most prestigious championship in wrestling.
Even myself, despite having been an active roster member for JET through ten plus years. I’ve only held the JET World Championship once and challenged for it a handful of times. So I got to thinking, how about a championship that will lead to the JET World Championship but at the same time, we’ll give our fans a match that no one has seen before. So it’s with great pride and honor that I present to you all with the brand new…
JET VICTORY CHAMPIONSHIP!
(KAGUYA opens the briefcase unveils a brand new JET championship, the photographers begin to take multiple photos of the new title belt. KAGUYA soon resumes speaking.)
KAGUYA: And to go along with the new championship, we need a brand new match for this title. It’s better known in the west as the Grand Rampage, Clash of The Titans and for the JET fans, it will be known as the VICTORY RUMBLE MATCH!
(Just as KAGUYA unveils the name, a piece of the graphic is shown on the screen along with the set of rules for the Victory Rumble.)
KAGUYA: 20 women, two will start and every two minutes, a new entrant will join the match. You are eliminated when you go over the top rope and both feet reach the floor. The rules are simple enough for all to understand. But now the real focus, the prize for the winner of the Victory Rumble match. The rules of the Victory Championship, who wins this championship can challenge the JET World Champion at VQR2022 BUT they spend the calendar year defending the title. Whoever leaves next year’s November event as Victory Champion will have the right to challenge for the JET World Championship.
This creates a new path for one to become JET World Champion but at the same, it’s just as challenging as the normal path. Which path will you choose?
(KAGUYA bows and takes her leave as the crowd applauds her. Once KAGUYA leaves, Maki returns to take over as the host.)
Maki Fujioka: Thank you so much to KAGUYA! We have two title matches set in stone at VQR, we’ll be getting to our World Champion and her challenger later but right now, we’re going to focus on the Academy Championship. At Midnight Door, we saw Seijun Kanemoto successfully achieve V2 as she defeated Sara Ashiya to retain the JET Academy Championship, right after the defense Hinata Tatsuo stood up for her faction member and declared herself as Seijun’s next challenger. Because Hinata has a singles match victory over Seijun, the board of directors has decided that Hinata Tatsuo does deserve a title match. So first, representing GENERATIONS and the challenger for this title bout. The Neon Dragon, Hinata Tatsuo!
(“Introduction” by Waggaki Band plays as Hinata Tatsuo makes her way out from the back, smiling and waving for the crowd before taking a seat.)
Maki Fujioka: And her opponent, she is the 22nd JET Academy Champion! The Celestial Valkyrie, Seijun Kanemoto.
(“Puzzle” by BAND-MAID now plays on the PA system as the JET Academy Champion, Seijun Kanemoto makes her way to the podium looking at her challenge with disgust. She soon takes a seat while placing her championship on the table. Rather than letting Maki Fujioka speak, Seijun immediately grabs the microphone.)
Seijun Kanemoto: Before I speak, I would like to remind people how this woman “earned” her spot to challenge me by beating me in GP. But we all know the truth, she’s only getting this title opportunity because she’s a part of JET’s new cash-cow GENERATIONS. It disgusts me that I’ve had to face not one but TWO members of this faction back to back. JET Management is doing everything in its power to make sure that this faction is on top of the promotion. But I won’t let that happen, for too long JET has focused on the name value of stars, factions and so much more.
But no need to worry because I’ll solve this issue myself by continuing to beat every single foe put in front of me. You’re very welcome, pro wrestling world.
(Hinata looks annoyed and shakes her head as she grabs the microphone.)
Hinata Tatsuo: I would like to remind you that I beat you at GP way before GENERATIONS were formed. I truly did earn my shot!
Seijun Kanemoto: Does earning mean being a second-generation wrestler and being handed opportunities? If you didn’t have the blood of your dad, nobody would have cared about you. That’s what GENERATIONS really is, every single one of them is coasting of the legacy that was built before them. This stupid motto your faction lives by, “Connected to the past, creating a brighter future for all”. It’s nothing but a false claim so those stupid second-generation wrestlers can hog the spotlight.
Hinata Tatsuo: And what are you doing? Being the so-called martyr for Joshi Wrestling? Where were you when DESPERADOS were running around ruining this promotion? Oh, that’s right, you were acting all high and mighty because you got your championship and now you can sit back, enjoy the title reign.
As much you talk about the rapid decay of Joshi wrestling, you’re just as much of a part of the problem. Selfish, greedy, and borderline annoying. Nobody wants you to be champion and I’m gonna make sure that I walk out of Victorious Queen’s Road as Academy Champion. Just so nobody in JET has to deal with your annoying voice again. And I’m gonna make sure of it!
(Seijun annoyed leaves without answering a single question from the press in attendance, Hinata takes her leave as well, causing Maki to shrug her shoulders and move on.)
Maki Fujioka: I guess things got a bit too heated before any of you can ask a single question but I don’t think we’ll have hate spewing out from the competitors for this next match. This main event is being billed as “The Strongest JET World Champion vs. The Strongest Challenger”, please welcome to the stage. First the challenger and the hometown girl for this event, “The Compact Combatant” HULK!
(“Always Forever” by Cultz plays as the challenger makes her way out first, HULK takes her seat at the table.)
Maki Fujioka: And her opponent, she is the 33rd JET World Champion and The Ace of JET! Mizuki Nakata!
(“Rage of Dust” by SPYAIR plays as Mizuki makes her way out with the JET World Champion on her shoulder. The Ace soon takes her seat at the table while placing her championship in the center.)
Maki Fujioka: Considering what happened a few minutes ago, we’ll go right to the press questions first.
J Sports Reporter: My question is for Mizuki. First of all, congrats on becoming a three-time JET World Champion and becoming one of three women in history to do that? I want to know how you feel about this title match’s billing as “the Strongest JET World Champion vs. the Strongest Challenger”?
(Mizuki picks up the mic in front of her with a smile on her face.)
Mizuki Nakata: I love it because it’s true. JET doesn’t have a lot of powerhouse wrestlers, so to have someone who I think is stronger than me in terms of strength as a challenger is an excellent thing. It allows me a chance to up my game I know some people expected Diantha to win or for Sora to win but in my heart, I’m glad that HULK won. I want a challenger who can push me to my absolute limit and make sure that our bout will restore prestige to the JET World Championship.
J-Sports Reporter: And HULK?
HULK: I feel the same about this bout as Mizuki does. She did something that everyone was hoping she would do and now she stands as a three-time JET World Champion. I’m glad Mizuki knows that I’m stronger in terms of physical strength and I intend to show that when I beat you for that championship.
Crowd: Ooooh…
(Mizuki gives a HULK a smirk as she grabs the microphone.)
Mizuki Nakata: I’d like to see you try and take this from me.
HULK: It can be done. It’s been done before.
Maki Fujioka: Uhm… next question, please.
Samurai TV Reporter: My question is for the challenger. You scored a pinfall win against Diantha Rosso, something that Mizuki hasn’t done. Do you think that will play into the bout?
HULK: No because I know Mizuki would have beaten Diantha eventually. If Diantha was the one standing here as the challenger, Mizuki would have definitely won this time. But at the same time, I know she would have rather wanted to face me. Give the woman and JET something they’ve never seen.
At VQR, it will be a true test of strength and might. A battle that I know I can win.
Mizuki Nakata: As much I would like to say that my challenger is right, this is a battle of fighting spirit as well. Something you aren’t gonna win in.
HULK: We’ll just have to see.
Mizuki Nakata: You will see, I’ll gladly show you in the ring. I’m all in to show that winning this championship is much harder than you actually think it is. Winning contendership for a world title is easy, winning the championship is the real battle.
HULK: And I can wait for that battle, Mizuki.
(HULK gets up from her seat and immediately goes over to Mizuki who raises from her seat as well. Champion and challenger have a staredown as Mizuki extends her hand to HULK. Both women shake hands as the cameras begin to take a series of photos. The final shot is similar to the ending of Midnight Door, both women shaking hands and staring down the other with Mizuki raising the JET World Championship high in the air.)
